A few hours later all the Pokemon in the facility were treated and on the way to a full recovery.

Lan is now in front of Officer Jenny, The Head breeder in addition to the Nurse Joy who was assigned to this facility from the Leauge committee.

Officer Jenny: " Lan we are grateful to you about getting the blood to create the Antidote. We have analyzed the substance that made its way into the Beedrills poison. This substance seems to make Bedrill very irritated and enraged even to their trainers. Which might be the key to solving the Beedrrill attack. Most of the agency think it was all planned out by Team Rocket. They are getting more and more bold."

Lan " Okay that sounds like quite a problem. If this substance is what they used what will prevent them from using something like it again. Also, I am not from Kanto so just who is Team Rocket?"

Officer Jenny: " From what we know they are an organization of Pokemon thieves. They steal peoples' pokemon and resources. There have been an increased amount of incidents over the Kanto and Johto regions. Now that they have attacked an official league facility more resources are going to be allocated to combat them"

Nurse Joy: " Answering your first question, yes we are checking up on that substance but most of our tests indicate that this substance only makes Bedrill react. We haven't seen any incidents like this before but now we have the antidote for it things will get easier.

We are reporting all of this to the league committee and they will publish the antidote on our network. What is most likely to happen and such and give it to the Ranger division for preventative measure in the highly forested areas."

Lan: " Okay, this sounds like a really big incident. If you need my help with anything please call me at Prof. Oak's Lab. I am planning on being there for a while. I guess I'll leave now so y'all can take care of everything here"

Jacob (Head Breeder): "Hey Lan I heard from one of the breeders that you got the blood sample from the loner Growlithe?"

Lan nodded

Jacob: " Well you know it's very hard for it here due to several reasons. This is not the right environment for it to grow up and live in. We would like to give it to you as compensation for the task. He holds out a blue and red ball and enlarges it by pressing the center button"

Lan looked at Jacob, Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy stunned. He just didn't know how to respond. Jacob hurriedly puts the ball in his hand before Lan could reject.

Lan just shook his head and agreed. He wasn't expecting compensation for this assignment since it was given to him from the Professor. After saying goodbye to everyone Lan leaves and heads to go get something to eat.

Nurse Joy: "Jacob, why did you give that pokemon to him?"

Officer Jenny: " Yeah I mean the Poke for the completion of the task was not even half of what that pokemon was worth."

Jacob: "What if I said I just felt like it."

Nurse Joy: " Jacob that's not like you at all. You have never lost when it comes to money"

Jacob sweated a little and rubbed the back of his head while not maintaining eye contact with the two.

Jacob finally broke down and sighed while waving his hands in defeat

" Okay. Okay. Stop looking at me. It was a hassle to take care of because it never listened to me or its parents in addition to it having trouble dealing with other pokemon.

WORST OF ALL that thing is a GLUTTON. I probably will save double the amount of Poke that I lost in that deal in this month's food budget alone."

Jenny: " So it was to make your life easier?"

Jacob smirks and says "Yeah"

Nurse Joy: "Typical"

Jenny " You know Growlithes here are technically owned by the region officers' division right? Well, I guess that's okay I will put in the necessary paperwork and approval on his trainer account."

Jacob rubs the back of his head saying sheepishly " Sorry about that Jenny."

After a couple of seconds, he looked like he just thought of something

"Hey, Jenny why don't you I take you out to dinner as a thanks for your help. I have been meaning to ask you for a while … we can make it an official date. You can just let me know when your off duty"

Jenny and Joy looked at each other and thought' READ THE MOMENT !'

Jacob "…"

Jenny and Joy "…"

….

11 pm in Viridian CIty

Lan arrives at the Pokemon Center after buying a couple of chicken skewers from one of the street carts. He quickly walked up to the main counter where there is a young lady with pink and red hair in the famous Nurse Joy style.

???: " Hello my name is Cindy Joy but you can call me Nurse Joy. Welcome to the Pokemon Center what can we do for you?"

After he swallowed his food and sheepishly said "Sorry about that I was starving. Um, this Pokemon needs a check-up and I would like to see if you have any extra rooms here tonight."

Cindy: " Haha alright we will give it a check-up as soon as possible. And your luck seems good we have one last room here is the room key it is on the third-floor room 307. Pokemon under 50 lbs are allowed to stay in the room"

Lan took out the Pokeball from his pocket and handed it to Cindy.

Cindy: "Okay do you have your trainer ID for your registration? Checkups are free but if there is an emergency there will be additional charges."

Lan nodded his head and pulled out the Pokedex and operated it to show his identification number.

Cindy: "Okay thank you the serial number of the Pokeball has been registered to your ID. It looks like you are a new trainer so just to let you know Pokeballs and Pokemon are registered at Pokecenters and Labs. This allows trainers who are unlucky to lose their Pokeball or it has been stolen to be able to be notified if it is found and turned in. This helps trainers reclaim lost pokemon. I also opened up an account so you are allowed to use the ball transfer station and trading machines at our facilities."

Lan " Thank you very much for your help"

Cindy "Well that was a long spiel I will get Chancy will perform a check-up on your Pokemon now you can take a seat in the lobby"

10 min later…

Cindy: "Okay Lan here is your Pokemon it has been fully healed and is in good health"

Lan: "Thank you"

Lan walked up the stairs and headed to his room thinking of his new identity as a trainer.

Sitting on his bed in his room, Lan took out the Pokeball in his pocket and pressed the center button.

"Click"

The Pokeball enlarged and opened up releasing a beam of red light that materialized into Growlithe.

The Growlithe seemed to be a bit wary of its surroundings. It was caught by a group of people back where he was living so it was on edge.

It around the room and then it noticed Lan sitting on the bed looking at it.

Lan: "Hey Growlithe those people back at your home gave you to me."

It seemed to relax since recognized Lan's voice from after the fight earlier. Lan continued "I know you had family back there even though I don't know your situation you were still caught against your will."

Growlithe: " Grrrr-owlithe!" Seeming to agree.

Lan Nervously explains "Okay so the way that I see it is there are two options since they don't want you back there with the breeders and officers.

First option is that I can take you to the woods and release you and you can become free and do whatever you want.

Or secondly you can become my partner and we can travel to different regions together."

Growlithe: "…"

Lan "We can travel and eat different food"

Growlithe widens its eyes then runs over to Lan and nuzzles his hand.

Lan: "So you are with me right?"

Growlithe: "GROWLITHE!"

After a couple of minutes of conversation with his new partner and Lan giving him a couple of berries, Lan was started to get tired. It had been a long day so he went to bed while Growlithe sniffed around the room for a while and jumped up to the foot of the bed and curled up laying next to his new trainer.
