Pokemon: The Wandering Guardian

Chapter 29 - Set in Motion

...

After Lan made his way towards his destination of Pewter City, he decided to travel by himself for a while so that he didn't want to tire out his Pokemon that much. He spent much of his time walking off the main route. He enjoyed being part of nature. He saw many different Pokemon but none of what interested him. He had to send out Vulpix a couple times to battle Pokemon that he couldn't avoid. She got a lot of experience.

Lan had tried to send out Growlithe but he just raised his head and went back to sleep. This frustrated Lan as he realized that Growlithe always seems to be sleeping and eating in his free time. He could only sigh at his Pokemons antics.

Lan eventually passed Viridian city when he trecked a hill. He made his way past the city without looking back. He pulled out his map since he had never been past this city. He noted that he would have to cross some mountainous areas if he didn't go out the normal route. The normal route would lead through Viridian Forrest. Lan was planning on going through there because there might be some Pokemon that he has not seen before.

Lan then looked up in the sky. Dark clouds were gathering rapidly. It looked like a thunderstorm was gathering.

"I am going to find a place to sleep for tonight before I make my way through the forest. Let's look for a cave there should be one around here if we go back to ground level"

Soon enough when he was making his way down to ground level he found an empty cave that was hidden by the tall trees at the beginning of the forest.

He looked carefully to see if the cave was occupied and he found that there seemed to be nothing there. He then entered and set down the dry wood that he had gathered on the way. He moved away from the entrance of the cave and let out Vulpix and Growlithe. The other two Pokemon wouldn't be able to stay the night outside of water.

Lan then set up his tripod and pot. He then put part of the wood underneath it. Growlithe already had gotten used to this and waited for Lan to give him the go-ahead to light the fire. Lan then took water from one of his canteens. He then pulled some vegetables from the lab. He then added some spices and peppers.

He then gave the go-ahead nod to Growlithe who used fire spin on the pot and its ingredients. After a short while dinner was ready. Lan first scooped some of the soup into his Pokemon bowls. He then made one for himself. Covering the rest they ate till they all were satisfied

A little later after he laid down and his pokemon came and curled up around him. He could hear tattering of Rain along the claps of thunder. He fell to sleep from the warmth of his pokemon.

Unknown to Lan his tattoo started to shine underneath his clothes in the middle of the night. At first, it started of dim then it started to pulse until it abruptly cut off.

...

Thousands of miles away deep within the depths of the ocean a dark spherical object started to grow with a black light. It was dim but got stronger and started to pulse in tandem with Lan's mark. The area around the object seemed to grow darker with each passing second then it abruptly went silent.

Seconds later an invisible pulse was sent out and a small crack could be seen on the surface of the object. A small amount of pitch-black smoke started to rise to the surface.

...

At many research facilities all over the Pokeworld, there was a disturbance that caused a sudden shut off of many equipments but it quickly passed as if had not even happened.

...

Countless Legendary and Mythical Pokemon looked at the sky and roared as they felt a sense of uneasiness sweep through their territories.

...

Unknown to anyone on this day started a series of events that would endanger the peace between humans and Pokemon.

When the Sun rose in the distance Lan started to wake up but this time

Lan woke up to an odd experience. He could see everything extremely distinct as if he could make out every single detail. It felt like a new world to him. Lan felt that his mind was overly clear and he could understand things many times faster and better than he had previously. He was able to recall every single detail from his memories as if he was watching a movie.

Lan sat up and looked at his pokemon, he could somehow sense vague emotions of contentment from Vulpix and Growlithe. He was internally startled but didn't take it to heart. He then pushed Growlithe off of him. More like he lifted him off. He was once again surprised his strength was about double of what it had been the day before. He needed to check his body to see if anything wrong. He took off his shirt and moved around to test his strength.

Lan had a slim but muscular build similar to a swimmer. He had always worked out and took care of his body but now he felt like he had much more physical strength in the same body and looks.

He knew that he needed to test things out so he decided to take it slow and try things on their way through the Forrest.

Both of his Pokemon were up now and Lan asked them to restart the fire so that they could have leftovers for breakfast.

After their breakfast was done. Lan cleaned everything and put everything back in his bag. He put another clean simple shirt on. One could see that it was a little more snug than yesterday.

He could feel the eagerness in his Pokemon and smiled at them. He raised his backpack and put it on.

"Let's go, guys, we need to make it to the city by night if possible"

"Growlithe!"

"Vulpix!" (not wanting to be outdone by Growlithe)

They started to trek through the Viridian Forrest.
