Pokemon: The Wandering Guardian

Mnt. Moon is one of the major attractions in the northern part of the Kanto region. It was said that it was the home of one of the rare pokemon named Clafairy and a certain type of evolution stones called moonstones. Since many of the trainers decide to test their luck in the mountainous path there was a clear route leading up to the mountain.

It didn't take that long for Lan to make his way to the periphery of the mountain. He decided to take a break to rest up before tracking through the cave.

Lan wasn't that tired from the day. He didn't know what it was but ever since he started on his journey he was less tired and didn't have the urge to sleep as much. Every time he was in the wilderness he felt rejuvenated.

Lan decided to call out all of his Pokemon that he was currently carrying.

"Come on out everyone!"

All of his pokemon immediately appeared.

"Growlithe"

"Vulpix"

"Mud mud"

"..."

"ONIX"

Hey, guys just relax for a while until I get some food ready. The pokemon nodded their heads and split up to do their things.

Lan wasn't sure what to make for Onix because apparently, Onix eats minerals within the ground to survive.

Lan turned to Onix who was laying down in the open area closing its eyes "Onix we are going to be traveling in the mountain for a while so I will let you out so you can battle while we can travel. You can also eat while we travel.

Onix let out a small roar and closed its eyes to go back to sleep. Lan then checked on his other pokemon. Zubat was resting underneath the tree eating something while Mudkip and Growlithe were sneaking up on a sleeping Vulpix.

Lan just shook his head he knows how this will end up. Two pokemon on the ground and another perfectly fine. Lan then hurriedly made a couple of snacks for his Pokemon and let them eat them. He then returned everyone except for Zubat.

"Zubat you will help me in the cave for a bit"

kkkkkkahhhh ah, and she nodded in return.

Lan and Zubat spent a good amount of time trekking through the now hilly Forrest Zubat fought all of the aggressive pokemon that the duo could not avoid. Eventually, they made it into Mt. Moon without a problem.

Many hours Later

Onix Bind!

Onix wraps up his opponent while Lan tossed the Pokeball in his hand it hit the pokemon and it turned into a streak of red light entering the Pokeball. After a few seconds of moving around the Pokeball clicks indicating that the pokemon was caught.

"Great job you everyone that was an unexpected difficult battle. That Clafairy was at a pretty high level. To think that it already knew how to use Gravity"

Lan turned to look at his pokemon. Growlithe was sniffing the ground while Mudkip was sneaking up behind him. Vulpix was off digging to the side of the cave along with Onix who was eating the soil and extra rocks that Vulpix didn't deem precious.

Zubat who was in her home environment was happily flying around after that last battle.

He smiled his Pokemon had some personalities.

He was taken out of his thoughts by a blue glow near the top of the cave.

Lan squinted his eyes and watched. He saw his Zubat produce the blue light and evolve. He then pulled out his Pokedex and recorded the process. From previous research studies, it is said to be a sacred and mysterious phenomenon for Pokemon in general that why many Pokemon will stop batteling.

After the bright lights died down Lan's Pokedex registered the new Pokemon

Golbat - The Bat Pokemon

The evolved form of Zubat. It loves the blood of humans and Pokemon alike. It is particularly active in the pitch black of night. This Pokemon flights around in the dark sky seeking blood.

It is known that the Pokemon is a Dual type Pokemon consisting of Poison and Flying.

"Nice going Golbat"

Lan recognized that his Zubat now Golbat was different than the standard because his Golbat was still about half of the size of the standard and was more purple coloring than the picture in the Pokedex.

His Pokemon surrounded the newly evolved Pokemon and congratulated it. But Lan could see the determination in the eyes of the rest of them.

He then returned all of his Pokemon to their Pokeball except for Vulpix who was more interested in finding things that interest her along with Onix who seemed to be content eating and helping out Vulpix in her endeavors. Like that they made their way through the cave.

After what seemed a long track of time Lan could feel that his group was about to get out of the cave and on their way to their next city. Vulpix and Onix excitedly bring Lan a couple of rocks and drop them right in front of him.

Lan stunned by his own Pokemon's actions he examined the rocks that were dropped in front of him. Lan recognized one as the same type of fossil that was found at the Pewter City Museum. The other he did not directly recognize but he knew it was another fossil. He also recognized the stone that Vulpix was holding in its mouth. It was a moonstone.

Lan bent down and rubbed Vulpix on the head " Nice job buddy and you too Onix"

"Onix!!" it yelled while looking behind Lan.

Lan turned around and saw two people approaching him. He was a little on edge. He recognized one as the Fossil Expert from Pewter City followed by a cloaked individual. That cloaked individual screamed at Lan's instincts and drew a pressure he has never felt before.

Lan went on the defensive but he still tried to keep a cool head.

When they were just in front of them the Fossil Expert called out to him

"Hello, their trainer my name is Edward I am a Pokemon Fossil Specialist and we just saw that you Pokemon brought you two fossils I was wondering If I could battle you for one of them or buy or trade something for one. My client and I are searching for a specific fossil."

While Lan smiled and nodded at the explanation he didn't take his eyes off the figure in the hood.

This action didn't go unnoticed by the hooded client either who mentally thought

' Hmmm, he seems to be vigilante of me. I have contained my aura so he shouldn't be vigilante of me.

Yes this is pretty interesting I don't know what it is about him but it is like his natural presence blends into the surrounding itself. He is definitely an interesting one. He might have some potential.'

Lan nodded at the Scientist and replied "I don't know that much about fossils and such but I know that they are precious. My name is Lan Birch I am a Pokemon Representative of Oak Laboratories ...

Fossil Guy " OAK LABS that's Awesome Professor Oak is the BEST!! He has helped a lot with our research at Cinnabar Island!!"

???: ' That monster doesn't sponsor just anyone. That monster has only previously sponsored the two past Champions of Kanto along with him being a previous Champion himself. Indeed it is as I thought this trainer is special. There is no doubt that Oak has seen his potential.'

"Uhh yes???..." Confused as to why it was a big deal but understood that the Professor was the leading researcher in many different research fields.

Lan " Anyway I was planning on taking back the fossils to Oak's Lab for him to research so technically they are his Property... but I believe you can have one if you battle me. I am just starting out and I haven't really had much experience battling other than fighting wild Pokemon.

"I accept" interrupted the guy in the Cloak.

The scientist went wide-eyed at his client's statement he was prepared to personally battle. He knew how powerful he was and felt a little pity for the teenager. " Okay then I will be the Referee"

Lan and the cloaked man stood opposite of each other.

" The Battle between the Lan representative of Oak Laboratories and..."

"My client will be a full battle consisting of 6v6 till the opponent's team is knocked out or is unable to battle
