Pokemon: The Wandering Guardian

A/N: Well this is it my Brother only got this far in writing apparently and just outlined the rest of the Novel. He got bored from writing or something so he just abandoned it. To me it is similar to most of the other POKEMON FF so I am not going to continue it. I will be creating my own fanfic that pulls some aspects from this story. This is dropped sorry. But here is what he had for the rest of the story that he had written.

START!!!"

Lan "Go Onix your up"

Onix roared and moved in front of his trainer to battle for its pride but He knew if he could battle well here it could get to eat more food.

???: "Go Dragonite" while he tossed out his Pokeball.

Dragonite roared and it shook the cave and its surroundings.

Lan and Onix felt tremendous pressure coming from Dragonite and his trainer who had fully unleashed his Aura.

??? 'Let us see if he can stand up to this'

Lan looked at his opponents and gritted his teeth he could see a purple light being released by the cloaked man he felt stifled by the pressure. Lan felt a burning from the mark on his c.h.e.s.t and felt something stir inside of him. The pressure lessened so that he could now stand up.

The cloaked man's eyes narrowed as he knows how much pressure he was releasing and this kid across from him was adapting to it. He could feel wisps of aura coming off the kid but nothing more. He sighed and dissipated the pressure. 'He really is a monster'

Onix now had an uncertain look on its face Lan saw this and sighed "Onix you don't have to battle if you don't want to"

Onix nodded his head and Lan returned him to his Pokeball

"Not going to lie I am disappointed in it for not wanting to face such a challenge" sigh

"Bring out your next Pokemon" the man grunted clearly amused

Lan quickly noted that he only had Growlithe, Vulpix, Mudkip, Golbat, and his newly caught Clefairy left. Golbat is still extremely tired from fighting throughout the cave but she is strong.

Go Golbat!

The Golbat chirped and flew around it looked at the intimidating Dragonite across from it and squinted his eyes.

Golbat use Air cutter followed by Confuse Ray. She immediately took action and sent multiple air slashes at the opponent while moving extremely fast in the shadows of the cave in order to attack.

Dragonite snorted and swiped its paw out faster than almost anyone could see.

Crash

The attacks dissipated and Golbat was sent into the wall becoming unconscious.

Golbat is Unable to battle. Dragonite wins

Lan returned Golbat and gritting threw out his next Pokemon.

Go Clefairy!

The man widened his eyes a little bit but no one could see the smirk on his face.

Clefairy Clefairy Clefairy it was happily jumping and singing once it was outside of its Pokeball.

Dragonite snorted bringing attention to itself. Clefairy stopped and stared down its opponent its demeanor changed 180 degees.

"Clefairy use Gravity then use sing" Clefairy uncounciously followed Lans instructions and increased the Gravity of the Area as much as it could then started to sing.

Dragonite stood there yawned and picked at its ears. It then dissapered from view. It appeared right behind clefairy and smashed it when the dust cleared Clefairy was knocked out." Lan ran to Clefairy and made sure that it was okay before spraying it with some medicine and returning it.

He breathed out to calm himself down he felt his head clear up and a new sense of determination.

The man could see the change in the atmosphere.

"Call out the rest of your Pokemon at once this is taking too long," said a gruff voice

Lan complied and looked back at Vulpix who was eager to fight. She immediately darted to the center.

Mudkip and Growlithe looked around and locked eyes with Vulpix and preceded to look at Dragonite. They felt Lan's humiliation and renewed determination. No sounds were made the three pokemon lined up with Vulpix in the middle Mudkip on the right and Growlithe on the left.

Start

Growlithe charged in a zig-zag pattern and used Flame Wheel while Mudkip charged up a large ball of Mud. Vulpix just stood by.

Growlithe roared and as if on cue Mudkip released the ball of mud at Dragonite's face and Vulpix took a deep breath and sent a fire spin at the charging Growlithe.

Growlithe got hit with the Fire Spin and His Flame Charge doubled in size and started to emit traces of blue fire.

Before anyone could get a good look Dragonite who stood unmoving opened its mouth and sent out a Large beam of purple energy. Before anyone could react it collided with all three pokemon.

The dust settled and all of Lan's pokemon were sprawled on the floor heavily injured from the last attack. Lan gripped his fist and was about to call them off when he saw all three of them with looks of determination try to stand up.

Their legs were wobbly but after a while, all three stood back up and stared at Dragonite as to not give up.

The silence was broken by a cry let out by Mudkip

MUDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

who started to be surrounded in blue light that lit up the dark cave.

MARRRRSH TOMMMMMP

Lan smiled at his vocal pokemon that had the fire in their eyes.

His concentration was broken when the man abruptly returned his Dragonite and said "I have seen all that I need to see here. Return your pokemon and let us head to the Center to conclude our business"

The two others nodded and did as he said

A day later Lan the Mystery Man and the Fossil Scientists where discussing the deal with the fossils. Apparently, Professor Oak immediately identified the man with the cloak and was assured that both parties could hold up their end of the deal.

Okay so as the deal with Professor Oak with the fossils both of them will be the property of the lab and once they are revived and are old enough they will be sent to Oak's Lab to be studied and taken care of in a different environment.

Yes that sounds good to me I also get an IOU from Professor Oak. which will come in handy.

The Mystery Man interrupted and started talking to the fossil expert"Now that you have concluded your business can you help me find me that old Amber because I need it as a gift for my Grandson"

Yes I am sure of it there are a couple of traces of it back at Mt. Moon and if not we will have to return back to Pewter.

Lan then picked up his backpack and realized how heavy it was. He then thought of something. Would you guys take a look at these things my pokemon and I found and see if you can identify them.

The two looked a little annoyed at being interrupted but nodded. Lan then dumped all of his backpack contents onto the desk. It was 75% objects that Vulpix had found.

The two looked through them and said a moonstone, some high-quality ores, a hard stone, metal coat esscence, and ...

an old amber ...

"Young man would you be able to sell everything here? The two of them realized they had found a treasure c.h.e.s.t."

Yeah, I'll sell everything except the moonstone and Lan reached out and put it back into his bag as he had plans for it.

Okay the scientist and the man thought for a minute before replying.

The scientist replied first " I will give you 20,000 poke and a ride to Cinnabar Island. The boat that is taking me departs tomorrow while the next one departs in three days. But in return I want all the items that you currently have except the Old Amber in addition to your Onix that you had the other day.

"My pokemon are a little underpowered compared to most so I have a tough time catching Pokemon. I have wanted an Onix since I was a little kid and I will help it evolve using this metal coat essence that you have here"

Lan thought about it but quickly accepted Onix was a great Pokemon and its evolution is a force to reckon with but he could not keep it fed during his travel. It needed to live in the mountains and be places that it could be constantly let out. A fossil expert who lives his life by mining was the perfect fit and to be honest, the way onix backed down without hesitation allowed him to see that the pokemon might not be ready to persist and train harder for the Pokemon Leauge.

They shook hands and Lan and the Guru quickly signed some papers. Lan now had no need to worry about money. He then looked at only another person in the room who was quietly watching the deal take place.

I have nothing to give to you on me right now but we can sign the doc.u.ments and I will give you something of equal value through Professor Oak. He can evaluate it to see if it is of equal value.

Lan was stumped at the proposal but trusting in Professor Oak's Judgement and agreed signing the Paperwork. The three people split up to go their own ways.

Lan needed to talk to Professor Oak so he quickly made his way to the pc and dialed the number.

"Ohh just the trainer I wanted to see."

Its going well especially since that deal with the fossils you just made. Did I ever tell you that it was a Helix fossil that started me on the path of a professor

All right then so on to business. I would like to make two requests of you Lan. The first is to visit a colleague who lives in the north of Cerulean City. He is the inventor of the PC System so that shoud be interesting.

Also we are finishing up one of our lab's children Pokemon camps. They have seen a decent amount of Pokemon but they have not been able to interact with any. All of my personal Pokemon are much too old and Large for them to interact with. I was wondering if you could send your Growlithe and Vulpix back so that the kids could interact with pokemon that are more their size.

Lan sighed but after thinking, it might be a good break for those two. "Alright Professor but you will have to send them back to me once I get to Cinnabar Island. Alright, that perfect also I received the data on your Golbat and it seems to possibly be the smallest Golbat on record in our region. I would like to take some time to study it and if it is official the league would reward you.

Lan once again sighed the professor was asking something tough because he was going to use Golbat in his gym challenge. "Thats fine Professor Oak but would you be able to send over my Horsea?"

Sure no problem

They preceded with the transfers and when it was done Oak chimed " Also if you see Ash or Gary please take care of them and help them out. Gary might not need it as much as Ash but he and his enterouge of girls have been giving me a headache. "

Okay professor Ill see what I can do.

They cut off the conversation.

Lan needed to make a plan for the time he needed to leave for Cinnabar Island.

Meanwhile Oak made another call to a certain number.

" I knew you would be calling soon Samual.

Don't give me that Egan. Lan told me everything that happened and I am curious why a grand Elder of the Secret Dragon Clan wants with my representitive?

If Lan was here he would recognize it as the mysterious man in the cloak.

Don't give me that Samual you already know.

What do you mean? Oak narrowed his eyes.

The Grand Elder paused and laughed " You really dont know, Wow this is great something got passed the Famed Samual Oak. I dont know how you choose such deciples and trainers from your lab but you got lucky.

That kid he has Aura flowing through him it's faint but it is growing stronger.

WHAT That's impossible he didn't have any Aura when he worked at my lab and he just set off maybe a week and a half ago.

That right it looks like you got yourself another monster I battled him to test his determination and drive and you know what he stood up against Blaze's and my Aura. He even started to adapt and grow stronger the more I pressed him.

His pokemon also have the drive all except one which he traded away.

As I said your Lab produces Monsters First Red and Blue and now this kid. He needs training but he will be another pillar for the Kanto Jhoto region.

Oak still stunned at the development quickly recovered "Red and Blue only developed their Aura after they became Champions. Sigh and by the way he is Professor Birch's adopted son so technically he is from Hoenn but he decided to start his journey here in Kanto once his father sent him here"

Either way, he might be a natural Guardian and someone to protect from the underworld for now till he develops. I promised him something for the Old Amber I needed. My grandson Lance wants to raise another Aerodactyl.

Sigh after he joined the Elite 4 and didn't take the vacant Champion Position he has been trying to raise another team. If only he came back to fully complete his training.

Stop your bragging Egan. As for the trade why dont you give him an egg from your clan. I am sure in the future he will be able to bring out its full potential.

Hmmm, Maybe I will have to talk to the others about this but keep me updated on his situation.

The screen cut off and Oak sighed. He then took all of Lan's Pokeballs and released them.

Lan's Pokemon were confused as to what was going on but as soon as Growlithe and Vulpix saw Professor Oak they happily walked over to him while Golbat went to roost on the celing.

Oak looked at the two fire Pokemon and noticed something. Growlithe and Vulpix were the peaks of health and they seemed to have grown a lot since they had left.

He shook his head and muttered "Lan you are still a Mystery" while the Growlithe rolled on the floor wanting its belly rubbed and Vulpix rolled her eyes.

Back in Creulian City Lan was oblivious to the extchange that he had been marked as such an important person.

He was currently looking at his three Pokemon.

Clefairy, Marshtomp, and Horsea. He was holding Horsea who is now fine being out of the water for a certain time. They needed to train and hard at that the battle yesterday made him realize that he is at the bottom of the food chain and that right now he is powerless.

In order to change that he is going to train himself and his pokemon to be able to adapt to any situation.

Lan made his way through the large city towards the coordinates that Professor Oak sent. He ran into a lot of challenges on a bridge that ended up against a recruiter for Team Rocket.

Lan sighed it was tough being a trainer but no one should fall as low to steal pokemon. He had Clefairy put the trainer and his pokemon to sleep and called Officer Jenny.

After waiting a while Officer Jenny pulled up in her Motercycle with a Growlithe in a bucket cart. Growlithe jumped out of the cart then started to sniff the air it then darted straight at Lan who then began to pet it.

Jenny was stunned because Growlithe is normally obedient and now it acts differently.

Lan quickly explained what happened and Jenny called the patrol car to pick the man up while she checked Lan's ID. He looked slightly more m.a.t.u.r.e now since the incident at the start of the journey but it checked out. She couldn't help but wonder what the police accolades where on his Profile.(From other team Rocket Incident)

Lan said goodbye and headed off towards his destination.

After walking on the route for a couple of hours he came to a clearing near a small Forrest and large stream. He let out his Pokemon to have some exercise and relax before they start with their training from what he had researched about this gym was that it uses water types. He needed his pokemon to be able to adapt to the water so he needed to know what moves they knew.

Lan walked over to the three pokemon who were playing in the water Horsea and Clefairy were messing with each other while Marshtomp was off doing his own thing.

Alright Horsea your up first show me what you got.

HOSEA

He started with Watergun followed by a bubble beam. Then it took a deep breath created a whirlwind. Alright that was a twister that was really good. Then Horsea started to gather blue light at its snout and sent it at a rock. The rock froze instantly.

Wow Horsea that was an amazing Ice beam.

Marshtomp knew water gun, mudshot, Bide, foresight,tackle. Which was a pretty good moveset.

Clafairy was the most amazing it knew Gravity, Moonlight, metronome, sweet kiss, sing, Aromatherapy, and Healpulse. Lan was excited because Clefairy could become a huge help with being able to heal status conditions and pokemon.

Lan started making a training regime for his pokemon he would have Horsea teach the other two ice beam. and after doing that all of them would exercise under Clefairy's Gravity.

Lan sat down and decided to meditate. Ever since Rustburo City and the illusion that he saw he felt the need to meditate but he hadn't made any time for it. Now was the perfect opportunity. He took the time to adjust himself and clear his mind.

Little did he know 2 pairs of eyes were watching his group.

Lan entered a dark space that he could not recognise. He was startled but quickly got ahold of himself. He could see different lights all around him like and endless starry night.

Lan spent some time walking around but it was no use. He felt as he was in an endless loop. Lan ended up just sitting down and falling asleep. Little did he know some of the specs of light entered his body through his mark.

Pokemon POV

Marshstomp " Ahh now this hits the spot"

Clefairy "Hey hey stop playing in the Mud. Our trainer is still stuck in meditation and just because you learned Ice Beam before me dosent mean you can slack off"

Marshstomp "But I don't wanna Growlithe isn't here so we cant wrestle. I plan on beating him again since I evolved. I can't wait till that fight and rub it in his face but in the meantime dont worry about Lan he is fine."

Clefairy " Vulpix is right you two are just brutes all you know how to do is fight over everything."

Marshtomp "Hey I take offence to that we just end up fighting after we mess with each other"

Horsea " You two are monsters It took me days to learn Icebeam. I had to beg Garadoys at the lab to help me since Goldeen already evolved."

Clefairy ignoring Horsea's comment " Also Marsh stop teasing Growlithe about Vulpix you know he likes her. If you don't I will not heal you next time and tell Vulpix about you."

Marshtomp Shivered at the thought "Alright I know I know. Jeez, I don't know how Vulpix is a fire type she is such an ice queen. I don't know what Growlithe sees in her ... "

Marshtomp stopped talking looking at Clefairy's expression and preparation to use Gravity on him.

Horsea " I finally get to battle a few different opponets. I am so excited"

Blurp!

"BATTLE BATTLE BATTLE"

The three pokemon were startled at the sudden entrance of the Pokemon and immediately went on guard.

They started scrutinizing the pokemon it was a Yellow Fox like Pokemon that had a brown torso a pretty long tail and squinty eyes. It wore a bracelet with some type of stone on it.

" Battle Fight Battle, Abra Fight "

All three "..."

Horsea : "He's Mine"

Clefairy "Another Brute"

Horsea and the Abra looked at each other Horsea in the water of the stream and Abra playfully shaking his fist and jumping from one foot to another looking utterly hilarious.

Marshtomp grinned and yelled "Go"

Horsea used agility while Abra just disappeared and reappeared behind Horsea his fist coated in lightning and punched Horsea. Horsea was sent back by the force of the punch and struggled to get up. The bystanders widened their eyes not expecting this.

Horsea floated to the surface and was knocked out.

Clefairy sighed and walked over to heal Horsea

Marshtomp thought for a bit then smiled mischeviously at the hyperactive Abra. He quickly made his way to Lan's bag took something out.

He then walked up to Abra and asked " Fight "

Abra "Fight! FIght!

Marshtomp then got in his battle stance and Abra made the first move using Thunder Punch again except that Marshtomp tried to counter it only to get hit. It did not have any effect on him. He smirked and countered with mudshot.

Abra startled teleported again. He appeared across from Marshtomp tilting its head seemingly thinking. It then disappeared and reappeared attacking Marshtomp with a flaming punch.

Marshtomp smiled but played along. It did insignificant damage and Abra teleported away standing up thinking again. Then all of sudden Abra rapidly preformed a series of teleports around Marshtomp as if he was using double team. Each of them sending out a punch or a kick. Marshtomp startled activated Bide and took the hits.

Abra stopped after a short while and teleported back to the Bank of the stream. It then sat down sad "Tired Tired, Mommy says sleep when Tired" then almost instantly fell asleep where it sat.

Marshtomp who was bruised pretty badly sighed in relief then slowly crept towards Abra and pulled the item out that he had gotten earlier.

He placed the Pokeball on Abra's forehead and Abra turned into a streak of red light. He then dropped the ball. It wobbled for a few seconds then there was a sound of a click indicating Abra was successfully captured.

Marshtomp sighed out a breath in relief. He didn't know what to do if Abra came out again how to face it.

He then clicked the Pokeball and the light formed Abra who was still currently sleeping without a care in the world.

A smile formed on his face until he heard a high pitch voice from behind him " What in Arceus name did you just do?"

"You know exactly what I did. That little kid is a Monster like us and Master can train him well.

"By God you really did it. I swear one day Mew or Arceus is going to strike you down."

"What will I Do?" A young childish voice rang in their heads and they turned around to see a pale pinkish mouse-like creature playfully hovering over them.

All "MEW!"

Uh lord Mew I am sorry for this offence but my colleague caught this pokemon child without the consent of his Master or anyone else.

Marshtomp Grumbled in resignation

Mew smiled brightly and chuckled replying " Its quite alright this Abra is in need of a trainer it has extremely powerful psychic abilities. If he is left by himself will become extremely dangerous to those who are nearby.

The other pokemon gulped

Now tell me about your trainer I am curious about him. I felt an Aura Guardian Awaken not too long ago and felt a similar feeling when I was nearby.

The three pokemon didn't hold anything back from Mew and told him all of their experiences Mew was playfully chasing its tail while listening to the stories and when they were done.

Hehe, that is interesting then teleported over to the still meditating Lan and started playing with his hair and studying him. It then went wide-eyed when it felt the Power of the Mark that was on Lan's C.h.e.s.t.

whispering to itself " A Golden Guardian blessed with the mark of Mother. Hehe, times are going to be tough up ahead. I guess I can make a trip to that Island. I haven't been there in forever I hope they missed me"

The mischievous Mew smiled to itself. It thought of something then tapped its head then touched Lan's head.

"Alright now his body is unconsciously retaining his Aura and not leaking like before. Hmmm I am generous so I will give him a gift. It disappeared and reappeared with an odd stone and placed it on Lan's l.a.p." That should take care of it. He will need to go to the Island to get his Partner Guardian. Although his Pokemon seem to develop their own aura somehow?? Well I am tired I will take my payment now as it rummaged through Lan's bag and pulled out all of the freshly made Poke food.

Mew then looked at the other Pokemon saying "My name is Loki be sure to remember it" and smiled then disappeared.

Marshtomp " He took my food"

Clefairy "Be glad that is the only thing he did to you"

Marshtomp " But Lan made that with extra spicy berries."

"..."

...

Wake up 1 day came and passed.

The pokemon Eventually got to do whatever they wanted while keeping an eye on Lan in his state. Horsea got a lot of battling in and progressed significantly when challenging Abra. Abra just did whatever he wanted to which was mostly fight and eat and sleep. Clefairy stayed near Lan and trained her moves. She found out that Abra had copied her Gravity Skill and tried to battle him. Abra ran away and learned a valuable lesson not to anger the females on the team. Marshtomp was spent time training, playing in the Mud and convincing Abra to help with pranking pokemon in the area.

Eventually, Lan started to stir out of his meditation state and opened his eyes.

"Man I feel a lot stronger now. I can vaguely sense that energy while awake. Hmmm also it seems that I am not emitting my energy anymore like I realized. How long has it been?" Noticing that the sun had just risen.

Clefairy came skipping over and started talking "Clefairy Clefairy Cle"

Lan nodded his head and said "Thanks Clefairy I cant believe I slept for a day" not realizing what he had just done.

Clefairy was stunned it thought that it had just hallucinated. Lan seemed to clear his head and realized what he had just done. He heard one thing but felt the intent behind Clefairy's words.

Lan smiled so this is one use of this power I wonder if I can get more abilities by increasing it further.

Lan smiled then it turned strange when he looked at the extra pokemon that was with his group and turned to Clefairy for an explanation which she promptly explained everything avoiding the encounter with Mew. Lan sighed but felt grateful but believed that this Abra must be pretty young and innocent or Marshtomp is just very cunning.

Lan felt the stone on his l.a.p it was an odd white and had many different colors in it. He felt some type of energy from it but he could find out later and put it in his bag. He then made sure he had everything in his bag but his eyes twitched at the sight of all his previously made food was gone. He made enough for a week or so but now it was all gone.

He suspected Marshtomp but just let it go as it was done and he was in a good mood. He knew that his ship left tomorrow early morning so he needed to battle the gym today.

He returned every one to their Pokeballs and headed back to the city. He sighed he liked nature a lot more than the city.

...

Lan made his way to the Pokemon Center to have his Pokemon checked out. He talked to Nurse Joy about pokemon care in the meantime. He wanted to be able to teach Clefairy the basics about care to help him. She struck Lan as responsible based on their conversation. Nurse Joy recommended that if Clefairy wanted to learn how to help Pokemon she could volunteer at almost any Pokemon Center if he got Joy's approval first. He thanked her for the offer and was soon returned his pokemon threw on some clean clothes which consisted of jeans and a simple shirt and headed to the Gym.

When he arrived he was startled at how big it was and the large posters on the outside. There was a line starting to form outside the Gym when it was clearly open apparently it was for a water show. Lan ignored the people shooting him glares and curious gazes and went inside. He arrived at a large Arena with a pool as its battlefield. He saw three girls sunbathing.

Lan just sighed and said "Hello I am here to challenge the gym leader"

"Ohhh Daisy we have another challenger and he's a cute one Just my type" chirped violet.
