Chapter 1 - Prologue

A sunny day it would have been if only the dark thickened cloud never got to gather like it was an assigned day for their general meeting with a thundering clap that came after as if one of it had made an outstanding speech.

A boy holding a girls hand running on the busy road with not much of age difference, he was tall and young like a teenager while the girl was a bit younger, both had two years of age difference.

Soon they both arrived at their destination, it wasn't that far from the Hunters Welfare Association Building which was the tallest of the building in the entire city. The building wasn't a well furnished one and doesn't look so fantastic, rather it was the opposite, the doors were wide open and everyone were welcomed in and out, this was a guild office or rather a not so popular guild that just manage to own an office of its own.

Both standing and gasping for air as two males approached them. Their foot steps made loud noise from the wooden flooring and behind them were the rest of the guild main force raid team members

'You are both late' one of them said

He was of huge muscular stature, he had built his body so as to become a tanker, his companion was a fighter with a good sword made of mana properties held by his waist belt

'Am sorry Mr Hanzo, my sister illness showed a little bit of stubbornness earlier on, she has been out of it lately due to too much absorption of mana particles from the dungeons'

He instantly replied the man, he felt the man understood since he had made mention of it to him before, but he had promised and failed to assist with the important gearing to venture into the dungeons

'Well don't blame me, it isn't my fault you and your sister lack the capability to become a hunter, after-all you two are the only E-rank hunters in the guild'

He said in disgust and walked away with his team while expecting the kid and his sis to carry the guilds equipment.

"Sorry Mr Hanzo it won't happen again"

'Well hurry up with it'

The siblings hastily picked up the two heavy bags and joined the team.

They say even the sweet life you are currently living can come to an end in mere seconds, well, that is true, but life hasn't been so sweet for him and his sister either.

They all got into the vehicle and the kid sister began showing more symptoms, his brother offered a drug in mix colour which in its container was the second to the last and she was to take those three times a day and they couldn't afford the hospital bill after all, they were E-Rankers who cant become a good hunter like every other hunters that were above D-Ranks.

In other to become a full-fledged hunter you must have the sum of §30,000 (Syrath), this ridiculous amount of money is said to cover for your registration, gears, license and also gives you the right to the hunters welfare hospital.

It was a good amount, well only those born with a silver spoon in their mouth could afford it.

By the way, this boy name is snow and his sister was named White by her mother who had died giving birth to her, their father also died in a dungeon after being betrayed by his friends and his children was left to survive with nothing to inherit from them both, still they never for one day hated their parents.

The vehicle came to a stop in a forest located at the east side of the city with few official members of the Hunter Welfare Association (HWA) standing in front of it as they came to keep record in case of an incident, the dungeon entrance was like a cave with two ancient pillars beside it and a protective barrier surrounding it.

Everyone who had exited the vehicle walked forward as snow hastily approached the guild master called Hanzo.

'Mr Hanzo, you never said we were going to hunt in one of the oldest dungeons'

Trying to persuade him, snow heart began to race even further as it was before, no he wasn't scared, but he was worried his kid sister sickness would spike up due to the higher level of mana particles in older dungeons than the newer ones.

'Besides you know well of my sister condition'

Feeling irritated by snow whining he became angry but kept cool as he halted and stare at the annoying kid.

'Fine, but if she is staying behind then remember this, i shall kick you and her out of the guild when we successfully finish this raid'

His words were certain, he furiously walked into the dungeon with the rest of the team while leaving them behind

'You worry to much bro, i will be fine, after all i did manage to buy this mana filtering bracelet that filters mana particles of about 10%'

White for the first time spoke to his brother trying to lessen his worries as she insisted they processed so as not to incur any more threat from their guild master.

Upon walking past the protective barrier they all arrived at a different place, it was their first time, though they have heard stories of how older dungeons happen to be field types dungeons, but this was stunning.

They all stood at a beautiful blue sky with white clouds, green field with a castle located at the distant. Like a thief in a bank all security counter measures were activated to apprehend the thief, monster that were different from a regular dungeons monster began to appear.

Humanoid shape monsters, some huge monsters like orcs while some had wings and some were pure beast with fangs like wolfs, at their sight everyone began to prepare, the mage class hunters prepare their wands the fighters held their sword firmly while the tankers where at the forefront.

The porters who was snow and white were at the rear quivering in slight fear, her sister hand shivers as she hid behind her brother.

After few hours of battles the first stage seems to be over, meanwhile snow and white had already began to pick the core and items dropped by the dead defeated monsters, the core was a black cube shape with glowing lines around it, the different the color the more it is easier to identify the monster it was gotten from and the brighter the core glowed the more value it became after all, such core could have only be gotten from a stronger and higher monster.

They say high grade core can be used in forging good fashioned and powerful weapons and armour, while others say it is used for modern technology and also help with medication, such as, transport gates between places outside the dungeons.

After picking what was left of the monster, white coughed, although she was caught offguard by it but she had been silently suppressing it and making sure not to worry his elder brother.

His brother hastily walked to white as he had checked the time while at it and it was already time for her second doze which happened to be the last medicine but her sister refused as she would like to reserve it for later at night knowing fully well that it was the last of it.

She waved signaling the brother to leave it for later

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, i will be fine"

Snow was worried but he knew he had to hurry up and get out of the dungeon soon but greed of the guild members had made them walked further as they open the castle doors the moment they got to it.

"Mr Hanzo, shouldn't we head back already? We have gotten more than enough, is it still necessary to go in any further "

Snow said in worries as the aura he was sensing from the room far exceed the level of that of an A-Rank hunter, wait what? Forget about the A-ranker this is far beyond human ability

"We have come this far, it is best we haunt down the monsters in here, after all, the boss is said to still be asleep"

Mr hanzo the so called guild leader smiled, with cheers filled in his eyes he took the lead as everyone else werent left behind but snow and white

After full conviction and resolve from snow and white they both decided to journey along and the moment they all got in the door was shut, no one had the courage to go back to opened it as they all walked up the stairs that had presented itself.

Feeling the environment snow had soon noticed the difference in the stairs, true, a regular human would have thought they were heading up the stairs but in reality it was the opposite, they walked for about an hour until the path they had came from had vanished into the distant, the more they walked the darker it got.

But it wasnt long when they saw a ray of light, in haste they all approached the light only to find themselves in a dynamic chamber, it was huge, and even a bigger football field was small compare to the mass space of this room.

They all quiver in fear as they realised their luck had ran out, before them were two humanoids beings sleeping on the floor, a female in white gown and male in dark clothes their hair colour was the opposite of their clothes, the female had a dark hair while the male had a white hair and of course they were still fast asleep with ray of light shining into the room from the glassy ceiling which half of it was night and the other was day, the waterfall in the room fell in a pool with just the two of them on a pavement at the center of the pool.

Trying not to make any noise they all tried to leave as they came because they had noticed that this two sleeping were the actual boss of this dungeon.

As they tried to leave, in that moment something of light and dark had swiftly past them striking the far end of the wall, and in that instant the door to the chamber came to an abrupt close like a man clapping his two palm.

Snow and white had knew infact they all now know what had passed them, it was nothing but a white dart and a black arrow. Swallowing their saliva they all turned back to take a look and in their surprise the two had just woken up, their eyes gently opened as they sensed the present of human.

'Humans?'

'Yes sis, it is humans, i wonder why they decided to wake us up at the wrong time"

They both helped each other up as they now stand on this pavement it was then the hunters realised they were never getting out alive

Being the leader that he is Mr hanzo took a ready to fight position, his huge shield was now infront of him with the vice president beside him and the rest prepared

"What do we have here?" The male said

The two boss in white and black walked forward, as they did their legs stepped on the pool but like there was a solid pavement on the pool they walked on it, in surprised snow had instantly placed his sister behind him.

He knew today was his end, his fear had far surpassed it limit still he needed to act brave and protect the only sister he had or rather the one thing he cherish more than his life.

On the other hand his sister who has past her limit fell to her kneels she knew that the pressure of aura coming out from the boss monster far exceed any boss monsters from normal dungeon they had entered so far.

Her voice were suppressed hy her hand, her eyes had flown with uncontrollable tears, snow seeing how his sister was behaving soon realised more, that even if they had any survivors it would have been just two or perhaps one of them.

Like a psychic reading peoples mind the male boss said

"You are right young human, even if anyone was to survive that would be just two"

In shock they all stared at each other, snow knowing how greedy his team was soon distant himself away from his team with his sister by his side

"Well, it is time to decide who were to leave and who were to stay" the female boss said while being happy about it.

The two bosses stood and stare at each other with a smile they were like a newly wedded couples as they were over each others like lovers, two royal chair made of crystals soon appear behind them as they instantly took a seat on it like they knew the chair would appear.

They didn't take a seat because they were tired but because they wanted to watch what was about to unfold.

The true terror in the dungeon, the greed and betrayal of man was the beginning of the end

Like a game when everyone had drawn a short straw they all faced each other and soon barrage of attacks began.

Weapons clashing each other magic clashing magic, blood splaterring here and there and soon snow and white where caught up in it.

His sister who was trying to avoid magic attacks was caught up in one of it, a stray magic attack soon came closer to snow and white and instantly exploded inches closer to them, the explosion sent her and her brother far behind the sitting bosses.

The two bosses soon stare at each other as they stood, their reactions were like that of couples leaving the theatre after done watching an interesting movie and the ones so clean pool made from the water fall behind them had been dyed red from blood.

And as promised it was Mr Hanzo and his vice captain of the guild that survived and was granted permission to leave with the doors opening up like it has expected the outcome.

Snow waking up as he was stung with concoction tried to gain his sense only to find his sister laying beside him while unconscious, she had lost her right arm from the explosion and was losing lots of blood

Mr hanzo and his vice captain was about to take a leave through the open door only to be called back by snow wailing scream as he called him for help.

"Mr hanzo please help! My, my sister is dieing!"

Feeling annoyed for why he was alive Mr Hanzo glared with no remorse, his glare showed pure anger

"Sorry kid, like the boss said, only two are meant to leave here alive and we cant afford to take petty E-rank humans with us any further and as of which i never want to see you again..."

Mr Hanzo soon turned to leave with his vice captain

"Do me the favour and die here for us"

As they stepped onto the stairs the door shut ones more, the noise got heavy like the room has gotten emptier from the door closing

In shock snow stared to the glassy ceiling and forgetting he himself had lost both an arm and legs.

As he cried in absolute pain, his attention was soon called back by his sister who had coughed like she had choked on something.

In worries his brother who already had her head placed on his l.a.p.s soon smiled at his sister, "oh thank goodness that you are alive"

Making sure the sister was breathing, his worries which was now restarted was soon brought before him

The two bosses had turned around to the left over, only to be amazed by their site

They found their past self in this two humans before them, but they giggle like they cared less of what was going on.

"Sis, i cant believe the human boy was more worried for the second human..."

The male boss was soon interrupted

"Hey you two, i know I shouldn't ask when i know we will die soon, but just Incase, i wouldnt mind of what became of me but my sister, could you help her?

Snow ask politely knowing fully well of their position, he has become more calmer or should it be the opposite of an insane human with no hope acting to be calm? His life was on the line as well as his sis, but he needed to make sure he at lease get his sister out of this pit of hell.

"Even if we were to help you we will still have to kill you two, well right now only father could help you"

The female boss spoke in mockery manner, she was beautiful like a human and even the male boss was quite handsome.

"Oh that, right, God created the world tree so father must be him"

Like a joke from someone who had lost all hope snow closed his eyes and soon he heard a mechanical tones like the pavement they are on had began to move still he cared less for he needed to make sure his sister survived no matter what.

"Father...!"

The moment he said that word, his heart was pierced right out of it placed by black arrow and his sister own was not different and soon they both laid dead on the pavement covered in blood that dripped down from the pavement into the pool of blood.

In that still moment of silence he felt himself drifting deep into the darkness even though his heart was still beating fast while hanging by the arrow that had pierced his heart straight to the wall.

Like a father giving his son the freehand to play he was given the chance to speak

'Father? Creator of man, creator of all things before man, i know this is coming late, that is why i will ask for one thing..."

Like he is drifting more into the darkness he felt the hand of his sister beside him

'in place of my death please let my sister live and should there be a chance of me surviving as well i promise to get strong and protect her'

Like a father replying to his son wish they both heard a voice

'If this is your wish then i shall grant it and as a reward for your bravery and becoming the first to pray to me in ten thousand years no harm shall befall you and not even death would lay a finger on you and your sister for my word is unchangeable'

Like a god accepting a sacrifice an astral being appeared before the two boss monster

"I have accepted your offering and as a reward you two shall return to the the place you d.e.s.i.r.ed"

The being said

"Thank you father"

They both said and bowed in unison for a child respect to his or her father far exceed that of a king and servants.

Like someone waking from a bad dream snow and his sister hastily stood up in shared shock since they were both in the same hospital room and separates bed.
