Amelia‟s Point a view I tried to open my eyes, but it hurt too much. Everything hurt too much. I couldn't remember what happened.

Why couldn't I open my eyes? Was I dead? I hoped not. I didn't want to be dead, at least not yet. I had a strange feeling, that something wasn't quite right… I wonder what it was. John‟s POV Seventeen days. That was how long she had been in a coma. The doctor came to talk to me yesterday.

He said that the longer she was asleep the less likely it was for her to wake up. Olivia had come by a few times but left soon after. She was convinced that Amelia hated her so much that she wouldn't wake up if she was there. I was still sitting in her hospital room.

Amelia‟s mom was looking after the triplet‟s full time now back at their house. They came up one every day. They still didn't understand that their mammy might not wake up. I didn't want that to happen but I was beginning to think that she might not ever wake up.

Not that I didn't want her to, because I did. More than just about everything, but I was beginning to face reality. But Lord, I have no idea what I would do if she left… Only time would tell… I was staring out the window in Amelia‟s room.

There were cars rushing past, people hustling to their next destination, all of them completely wrapped up in their own lives. All I could hear was the beeping of the machines and the sound of footsteps outside the room. The sun outside hurt my eyes, that was how long it had been since I had left the room.

All of a sudden I heard this groaning. I looked over at Amelia‟s lifeless form and saw her face was screwed up in pain or something. I ran over to the bed and picked up her hand. "Amelia," I said quietly, "honey?" Her eyes opened. She looked up at me and I felt this huge wave of happiness.

She was awake. Words alone could‟t express how happy I felt at that moment, but that was all changed when she spoke.

"Who are you?" she asked confused. I looked at her blankly. "Amelia, sweetie, it's me… John." I said nervously. "Do I know you?" she asked. I decided that I should get the doctor. Amelia was a terrible actor, so I have always been able to tell if she is lying, but she was serious. "Just wait here, Amelia. I have to go get a doctor, ok?"

"Why would you need a doctor? Are you sick?" I laughed, but it didn't meet my eyes, she was starting to worry me. "Nah, I am fine. I will be back in a few" With that I left the room to search for a doctor. "Doctor Reed!" I called.

I saw the doctor that had been looking after Amelia since she was admitted. "John? Is everything ok? You haven‟t left the room since Amelia got here." "She is awake" was all I said before she hurriedly left, heading to Amelia‟s room.
