Pregnant At Seventeen Of Triplets

Chapter 25 - 25: I know what amnesia is

"But, Doc, wait up" "What John?" she said, but didn't slow down. "She has no idea who I am," I said quietly. Doctor Reed stopped and looked at me, squeezed my shoulder in comfort and we both headed to Amelia room fast.

When we got back, Amelia was standing up looking over out the window. "Amelia, honey, what are you doing out of bed?" Dr. Reed said Amelia looked over at me, then to the doctor. She looked confused and very scared. "Why can‟t I remember?" she asked timidly.

I had never seen this side of her; she was always strong and independent. Now she looked scared and unsure. It made me want to wrap my arms around her waist and comfort her, never letting go. "Ok, Amelia, my name is Doctor Samantha Reed. You had an accident. You hit your head; you might have a type of amnesia.

It is where you lose your memory-" "I know what amnesia is" she said cutting off the doctor stubbornly. That was my Amelia, "Who is he?" she asked nodding her head at me. "My name is John" was all I said. She looked at me curiously, trying to figure me out. "Amelia, I have to do some tests, is that ok?"

Dr. Reed asked politely. Amelia unsure but nodded all the same. I sat in the room while they ran test after test. It was hard. She couldn't remember anything. At one point her mom and the triplets came in to visit.

They were all excited when they saw she was awake, but when I told them that she couldn't remember them, the triplets all started crying. I felt helpless. It was my fault that an entire family was being ripped apart.

Amelia‟s Point a view

I didn't know what to think. I watched the guy called John as the doctors were taking some blood to test and I saw the sadness and sorrow in his eyes. It hurt him that I couldn't remember him or anyone else.

I was still in shock that I was a mom of three, I had no idea how old I was so I assumed that I was in at least my mid-twenties. Well, I had before I looked in a mirror. I was eighteen according to Dr. Keller.

The doctors finished up and left. Dr. Keller squeezed my shoulder and went to talk quietly to John. There was so much I didn't know. How did I get hurt? How did I become a mother at seventeen? So much was going through my head. "Amelia?" I looked up to see John sitting on the bed.

"Hi" I smiled. From what I had been told, he had been here since I was admitted. I wondered what we meant to each other. "Well the huge team of doctors know that you defiantly have amnesia," he said sadly.

"Yeah, I guess that explains the whole no memory thing, huh." He looked pained and flinched when I said that. "Sorry" I mumbled. "I guess this is hard for you too" "Don‟t worry about me" he smiled.

"Dr. Keller said that you can leave whenever you want, but you have to come for weekly checkups" I suddenly felt scared. Where would I go? I had no money; I knew nothing of where I even was. "Don‟t worry about anything," he said reading my mind, "You are going to go home. I will be there as well as your mom and the triplets"

"What are their names?" I ask curiously. "Your kid‟s names are Mae, Ava, and Adam. Your mom‟s name is Helen" "Are we… I mean… you and me…" "I am the father of the kids if that is what you are asking. And are we a couple? I honestly don‟t know"
