Project Overworld

Chapter 89 - New organization

For the next few days after they came back from space, Leyla resumed her work at supervising the other recruits while Keith was planning out his future goals and projects.

'For now, the others are kind of stuck onto working on that automatic rocket assembler. I should focus on launching materials and a few other modules into space, if that's the case.' He quickly realized. However, he took the opportunity to plan out how the following weeks, nay months, will turn out. He just grasped the need of him managing his team members with more discipline, and had to think of solutions to achieve such a result.

First things first, he decided that they should be done with discovering the base and the various tools at their disposal. That was why, he planned to divide Spacol in different groups so they could start working on various machines or projects at the same time.

However, it would be quite complicated to have such an organization since there were only six of them. They could certainly form three binomes, but Keith did not want to be a part of it because he was working on complicated builds that he has been optimized over the months he has been working on them. Even if he did share his designs with the other members, it would not that efficient overall if they started teaming up with him directly.

In any case. he should consider this possibility because he could be teaching them a lot of things while working on his next modules.

As for the second solution, he thought about forming only two binomes and having Leyla monitoring the others like she always did. This eventuality was not as interesting as the other one since Keith needed everyone to become even more autonomous. He also thought that he would be wasting Leyla's skills by doing so.

In the end, he decided upon having totally different binomes being organized each week. It would give everyone enough time to get to know each other while not causing tensions to emerge within their group.

Also, he could be take the opportunity to improve everyone's weaknesses individually. He had already uncovered Jim's lack in social interactions, but he was fairly certain he could be helping everyone to work better as a team. Anyways, this was the job he had to accomplish as the boss of this company.

When he left his office, they were already all connected to the game and focused on improving Jim's rocket spoiler mold.

- "Hey." He simply greeted them, to which they replied with their own greetings. He did not quite yet want to announce their new organization as he wanted to see how they reacted to his presence. If he happened to stress them out as of now, he would have a lot more work to accomplish before they started being totally autonomous.

However, after a few seconds of him not manifesting any will to continue this conversation, they resumed their work without consulting each other. Leyla was not directly engineering and prefered monitoring everyone's work so she could give out advices and correct mistakes. This fact was hopefully something that could be changed with the new organization he was about to introduce.

- "Nice job, everyone. Actually, I came here to tell you we're going to change a lot of things in our overall organization." He caught back everyone's attention again and they stopped in their tasks at once. "From today onward, we're gonna form three binomes to work on various projects at the same time. These binomes will be changing each week so you won't get to work with another member more than twice per month, at the very maximum. This will ensure you get to develop your own autonomy as well as synergizing with each team member individually in the future."

That being said, Keith announced the current disposition of him working with Jim, Leyla with Michael, and Tyler with Xena. He also explained that he had logged their future schedule within the main computer of their base so they could access it from the several terminals that were installed throughout the building.

- "This change should take place as of tomorrow, since we'll be starting a new week then. Jim, I hope we'll get along well during this following week." He smiled at the young man before turning around to go and prepare the spatial room for tomorrow's plans.

They were kind of caught unguarded about this announcement, but they quickly regained their usual senses and took the opportunity to advance as much as possible on their current work before separating into binomes.

Since there was no other projects more urgent to Keith than the ones which were already being developped by the Spacol members, the new organization should not be changing these goals. Two of the binomes would actually still be working onto creating automatic production machines such as the 'Engine Assembler 1.1' as they all decided to name it after the various iterations of developing this specific machine they had gone through.

As for the last binome, consisting of him and Jim, they would be designing plans for the EOSS and building new modules Keith wanted to launch up there. Obviously, they should also be starting to work on the launcher of one of those modules, but it would be taking more than a week to do so and Jim would not be able to see the end of it.

It was also one of Keith's goal with this new organization, as it should be developing everyone's adaptability during the process. Whenever they would join onto a project already initiated, they should have to switch out their mentality as fast as possible so not to lose in efficiency and actually understand what was required off them.

For now, the only fixed point in all of this should be himself. Since working onto these really advanced spacecraft he has been developing up until now could prove to be a real challenge, Keith needed to be there and train everyone in turn with how these worked.

All the other binomes, even though two members could be working with one another two times in a month, everything was calculated so that they swapped projects as much as possible.

With everything being planned out for the next few months, Keith motivated the rest of Spacol's members as they approached this new type of organization with great expectations on his part.

_______________

- "So, how is the construction of Lionheart going?" Amber inquired to her secretary.

- "The city may now welcome a total of ten thousand inhabitants. The port is also completly finished and the architects started designing a really large shipyard to start working towards more modern kinds of ship."

- "Nice." Amber replied at this report. Her plans has been to specialize each city in the world towards specific goals. Lionheart would be their shipbuilding harbor while Niflheim and Midgard would always stay as the main hubs of Project Overworld. They were designed to have as much entertainments as possible and be able to welcome the largest groups of players.

As for the development of their technologies, most of it had been delegated to other continents. Shyram would be focusing on naval projects, the western continent to theirs would be taking care of everything related to air transportation and cetera.

This was a much more easier way of handling things. If someone was interested in building airplanes, they would buy a house in Aeragate on the Tattingmire continent and their happiness within the ever growing companies which installed in there.

For now, only the spatial-related project were left to be developed in Yggdrasil, with the Starise group at the lead.

'Everything's became much more simpler to take care because of this.' Amber finally breathed out as the amount of paperwork she was forced to do until now decreased a little bit.

A lot less conflicts were also prone to emerge around the world since competition was only being done within a specific continent. The municipal team assigned to said continent may take care of this matter, leaving Amber with matters only concerning Yggdrasil.

There were still players unhappy about this kind of development for the game, and manifesting their hate by destroying as much as they could. However, since Keith's inverventions on the terrorists who grouped themselves in the past, no one has dared to foment an attack group of more than a few players.

This, in turn, led to less destruction on the cities and an easier job for the armies scattered throughout the various continents to eliminate any threat. In fact, by each day the anti-terrorist specialized groups were getting more and more proefficien with their job. According to Amber, she would even have a lot less troubles maintaining the wall surround both Midgard and Niflheim in the future.

'Our expansion is still in its infancy. We should be able develop a much more civilized population across the world. The greater the reputation of the game gets, the less players should be inclined to disturb such a peaceful atmosphere.' Amber meditated. 'Anyways, if they really want to fight, they're going to satisfied by the next city we're about to create.' She thought while focusing back on her plans.
