Queen Of Adis

Chapter 48 - It is time

A glass of red wine was attentively placed on the study table while colorful hors d' oeuvres were set beside it. A bulky man lighted his cigar as he took the glass and swirl the red liquid inside it. The man stared at his reflection in the glass for a while before he gave a devilish grin and elegantly sipped the wine.

"You are right, she followed me promptly when she saw my silhouette." Duke Pier looked satisfied at today's development as he took another gulp of his drink. Then his eyes narrowed and wickedly licked his lips. "This only shows that she still cares about me and wants to be with me. Ah, she was so close that I could almost taste her enchanting scent."

Alfred bowed deeply before he replied. "You did a great job today, my lord. The risks that you willingly took only proved that you deserve the spring goddess more than anyone else. Very soon, your heart's d.e.s.i.r.e will finally be fulfilled."

Duke Pier laughed triumphantly then stood up to look outside the window. "Prepare our men. Tell them that we will continue my plan to different places in Atlantis, as well as in Lumine and Umbra. I want to see that wretched Demon King gets shaken by my display of power. Enough with this hiding and running. This Duke thirst for the blood of that demon." He seethed when he remembered the King of Umbra and the way he touched what was supposed to be his. "While you're at it, find that treacherous doctor. I heard he was hiding somewhere in Atlantis. Find him and bring him to me... Dead or alive."

"Worry not, my lord. Everything will be done as you d.e.s.i.r.e. I shall see to it at once," Alfred respectfully concurred. As he bowed and swiveled, he heard Duke Pier's additional command.

"Tomorrow, arrange that I'd be allowed to enter the Water Palace."

Alfred snapped around in surprise. "But, my lord--"

"Don't worry, I'll do so with extreme precautions. I would like to speak with my beloved while everyone will be busy to chaste after my ghosts." Duke Pier turned around and showed his loyal servant a smug smile. "I'll be sure not to get caught. I am a demi-god, after all."

Alfred sighed then nodded. "Very well. I shall act upon your command immediately. We shall commence at the break of dawn."

When Alfred finally left, Duke Pier sat back to his chair and unceremoniously unzipped his pants. He released his hard meat and stroke it feverishly. He closed his eyes and thought of how beautiful his spring maiden was when he saw her earlier, and how she whispered his name as she slowly chased after him. "My dear Haru, soon, our time together will come to pass. Once you're in my arms again, I shall love you thoroughly until you forget that demon. Ahh, I can't wait to see you! Oh, my love, on the morrow you shall be free."

*******************************

Adis dipped in the hot pool with his sleeping wife in his arms. He gently washed her hair and cleaned her body as he relished the feeling of her softness on him. As he patted her dry, he was also raining lingering kisses throughout her body. Haru was unaware that whenever she was deep in her slumber, her insatiable husband was still having his way with her body by kissing and touching her everywhere. The feeling of her warmth against his cold skin was the serenity that his weary soul always longed for.

As they laid on the bed, Haru instinctively squeezed her small body against his hardness while Adis trapped her whole being in his protective arms and sank his face in her hair.

When the Dark King finally fell asleep, the outside of their bedchamber had been enveloped with Adis' dark magic. Different creatures of the night silently roamed around their masters' chamber to protect them in their sleep; ghosts, undead and creepy mythical creatures were scattered on the roof, windows and at the door. The sight never failed to give the palace guards and servants a nightmarish experience as though the King and Queen's chamber was nothing but a haunted grave. The scary scene would last until the break of dawn and once the demon inside had finally opened his eyes.

As a new day began, rapid footsteps were nearing the Demon King's nest. The imperial guards nearby had a complicated expression in their faces, torn between stopping the eminent intruder or not. As the owner of the footsteps was a short distance away from the door, a vengeful ghost crawled out from the shadows, joints and bones cracking and long dark hair was covering its ghastly face. Although it did not speak, the way it breathed out sinisterly only meant one thing -- who dares to disturb its King and Queen would be cursed of a tragic death.

Zen sighed helplessly as he saw more and more dark creatures obstructed his way. Even the gremlins acted scary just to shoo him away.

"Geez, Water Palace suddenly became a haunted palace with all these dark entities around," he muttered to himself before conceding. "Fine, fine. I won't barge in, but at least call your King. Tell him there's an emergency!"

Fang materialized from the shadows and bowed before him. "Greetings to the great King of Lumine. King Adis has awakened and already felt your presence. He will come out soon to attend to Your Majesty's urgent concern."

"This King shall await for him in the Royal study." Zen simply acquiesced then finally spun around and left.

Inside the bedchamber, Adis had finished putting his royal suit while his eyes fixed on his sleeping wife. As Haru turned to lay on her back, the blanket slid down to her t.h.i.g.hs, exposing her alluring n.a.k.e.d form. He was instantly bewitched at the blatant display of mouth-watering delight, but he endured as there seemed to be a pressing matter that he needed to attend to.

He stealthily moved closer to the sleeping beauty and imprinted her entire being in his mind for a brief moment. His eyes softened and his lips curled in a gentle smile upon the sight of the dark rosebud on her lower abdomen. The bud had opened up a bit and apparently had grown bigger. He planted a tender kiss on the mark and whispered. "My little devil, look after your mother while I am away. I won't be long and I'll bring you your nutritious meal."

Adis felt a gentle stroke on his head. He shifted his head sideways to kiss the soft, fragrant wrist of his wife. "Did I wake you up?"

"No," Haru breathed out. Her voice was lazy and thick with drowsiness. "I suddenly felt hungry."

Adis smiled against her wrist then crawled up to look at her face. He chortled when he saw that her eyes were still closed while speaking. He kissed her eyes softly then spoke against her lips, "You are so adorable! I will ask Fang and Anais to bring you breakfast. You can sleep more, afterward."

"Okay... It's still so early... Where are you going?"

He assaulted her neck and deliciously s.u.c.k.e.d her s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e skin to leave his mark.

Haru bit out her lower lip and m.o.a.n.e.d, instinctively arching her body upward.

Adis stared at his new masterpiece first before he replied. "Aqua and Zen would like to meet me at the royal study. I shall be back before long. Be good and rest more, hmm?"

"Mn," Haru just nodded while her eyes were still closed as if she was just talking in her sleep. "You can leave after kissing me ten times more."

He gave a throaty laugh in utter amus.e.m.e.nt before he indulged her. "As you wish, my Queen."

When Adis came out of the bedchamber, all the dark creatures had finally left and Fang and Anais were already waiting at the door. "My Queen and child are hungry, bring them food at once. You shall not get your eyes off of her at any cost."

"Yes, Your Majesty!" Both servants respectfully replied.

As soon as Adis stepped into the royal study, Zen's rambling started. "Big brother! What took you so long? Geez, even though sister-in-law is asleep, you were still violating her, are you not? Tsk! Anyways, we have updates on Pier's whereabout. However, it was so confusing, hence we decided to seek your thoughts on this. Look..." Zen handed him the reports from early this morning.

While he was analyzing it, Aquarius added, "Although we have sent out a portion of our military forces to seize this madman, they were confused at the current situation. It was said that he was seen at an abandoned mansion in Lumine, but he was also seen hiding in the slums of Umbra. But how could he be in the Atlantis Pavilion yesterday? The gatekeepers would immediately send their reports if he used any of the teleportation towers, but he did not. Even still, it will take days to travel from one realm to another without the help of teleportation towers... unless he would ride a dragon. However, with the decline of his household due to his crimes and as a fugitive, I highly doubt that he could afford even the cheapest dragon in the market."

"This phenomenon is really frightening, big brother," Zen was bewildered as he paced the floor. "If Pier has the ability to be in different places at the same time, then does that mean he's also a wielder of lost arts? If so, I can only think that he either used space or time ability. But... only one being can handle such a powerful spell and that's Alastair."

Zen sighed as he rubbed his glabella. "In any case, a being who possessed a lost art is a force to be reckoned with. The elders would definitely take his side regardless of the many atrocities he has done. Oh, wait! Isn't he a Demi-god?" He stiffened at the realization then banged his fist on the table. "That explains this extraordinary occurrence."

Aquarius creased his forehead. "But a demi-god is just like a half-blood. Only, he is a partial god in a human body. His abilities are just above average and should not pass the strength of an immortal. Sister-in-law is the only exception since she's a blessing from the gods, hence, she was given the lost art of seer."

"Then, how can you explain these reports?" Zen retorted.

"I...also don't have any idea." Aquarius shook his head in defeat.

After a while, Adis put the doc.u.ments down. Then with one word, he declared, "shapeshifters."

The two Kings looked astounded at Adis' revelation. They had been cramming their brains on how to crack this case, and yet, their big brother instantly found out the root cause with just a glance.

"The hell!" Zen cursed then stared at his big brother in disbelief. "Did we not eat the same food when we were young? Why is your brain better than mine?" He complained as though his sentiment was more important than the problem at hand.

Aquarius frowned at Zen's question. "How could you even ask such an obvious thing? I am more surprised that you didn't even know that you're stupid, stupid!"

Zen grimaced, "Tsk! You and your sharp tongue. The citizens of Trium Regum are truly blinded by your looks. You're as hateful as you are cunning." He stuck his tongue out at Aqua like a brat.

Adis interrupted their banter as he inquired, "How many sightings in total?" His demeanor was peaceful, totally opposite of his brothers' as though it was the infamous calm before the tempest.

"Uhm," Zen rummaged the pile of reports. "Ah, here, let's see... Five in Lumine, six in Umbra and two sightings in Atlantis. Eh?! Then the one that sister-in-law saw yesterday might not be the real Pier?"

"If your guess is correct, then one of those sightings must be the real Pier," Aquarius remarked as he played with his fan.

Adis tapped his index finger on his armchair as his devious mind was starting to fabricate a plan. "Aqua, summon Frost and tell him that he will be staying in the palace for the time being to monitor the Queen's health. If Pier has that hordes of shapeshifters in his arsenal, then he must have infiltrated the palace by now. We no longer know whether the people in front of us are fake or real. But one thing is for sure..." He trailed off as his eyes narrowed. "He will come for my Queen."
