Queen Of Adis

Two souls were intently looking at each other, eyes glazed with unshed tears and longing while a silly grin was on their lips. Every so often, one of them couldn't help but kiss the other's hand. However, no words were said between them, as if their eyes, smiles, and hearts were enough to understand one another.

This was the scene that Aquarius and Zen were forced to swallow while continuing their breakfast at the balcony. Although they were really happy to see their sister-in-law awake and kicking again, the spectacle in front of them was too sweet it's making their skin crawl.

Frost cleared his throat loudly to call the two reunited love birds back to their world. "Your Majesties, congratulations. I am totally delighted to see the Queen's spirited self once again."

Haru giggled as her attention was now shifted to the people around her, but her right hand was still being showered with kisses by her clingy husband. "Popo, Zenzen, Frost, everyone, I miss you all, too. Even though I'm with the three Kings in my dream, it still felt so different now that I'm seeing all of you."

Zen melted upon hearing Haru's cute giggle and held his c.h.e.s.t as though he was shot by an arrow. "Aww, I really miss your laughter, sister-in-law. It's music to everyone's ear."

Frost nodded in approval, "Today is indeed an auspicious day and the news of Her Majesty's awakening has started to spread in every corner of the palace. I strongly suggest for you to start eating now to make up for your lost strength before your visitors arrive to request for an audience."

"Here, my love, have some warm soup first to fill your stomach," Adis exclaimed in agreement and took a bowl of soup. His hands were terribly shaking, but no one knew whether it's due to hunger or overwhelming emotions.

Haru felt a lump in her throat while her eyes reddened. Her heart was hurting for making him worried to the point where he almost lost himself.

"Tsk! Hey, old man, you did not take care of yourself again." She softly chided and let out an apologetic smile.

She took the bowl from his grip, scooped a spoon-full of soup and fed it to him. She did it four times before Adis found his voice again.

"And who's fault do you think is that?" Adis raised an eyebrow when he looked at her.

"I'm sorry, please don't be mad at Haru." She leaned her head on his shoulder then rubbed her cheek on it like a cat seeking his forgiveness. "I honestly didn't know what happened. When I woke up, I'm already watching our past selves on top of the Eremus mountain."

"I believe you," he said as he wiped the sauce at the corner of her lips and kissed her forehead. "You're back. That's all that matters to me."

After breakfast, Haru stated that she didn't want to accept any visitors, except her kids and family, as the King would take his needed sleep and she would stay with him.

However, Adis frowned upon hearing it. He already planned to stay awake and watch his wife the whole day.

When they're finally alone, Haru went back to the bed and patted the space beside her that only belonged to him, coaxing him to follow with a hopeful look on her face.

Knowing that there was no escaping from her request, he took his clothes off and just gladly conceded. He crawled on the bed and voraciously ate his wife's lips.

He sighed and m.o.a.n.e.d in extreme satisfaction, taking the p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e that he had been deprived of for almost two weeks.

"I... don't want to sleep," he whispered his true feelings as he rested his forehead against hers. "I'm afraid... that once I open my eyes, you are unconscious again and went to live in your dream."

Haru buried his head to her bosom and gently c.a.r.e.s.sed his broad back. "Sshh, I won't go anywhere. Once you wake up, I will be here to greet you with kisses."

"Promise?" His tone was thick of drowsiness when he asked for assurance.

"Mn, I promise." She solemnly vowed and kissed the top of his head.

Her soft, enticing voice was lulling him to sleep. His eyes suddenly became helpless and submitted to her bidding.

With his head resting on her soft, fragrant c.h.e.s.t and his palm on her baby bump, Adis had finally fallen into a deep slumber after more than a week of sleep deprivation.

At dusk, the Demon King creased his brows and slowly blinked his eyes open. When his consciousness had finally cleared, his pupils instantly dilated and jolted up on the bed.

"Haru?!"

The pregnant queen who was leisurely half lying beside him and reading a book while repeatedly c.a.r.e.s.sing her stomach was surprised by his sudden movements.

"Kyaa! Geez, Adis, can you just wake up naturally? You startled me and our little devil."

He stiffened upon seeing his wife awake and not sleeping. Then, it finally dawned on him that everything was not just a dream. His tensed muscles relaxed and heaved a sigh of relief.

He chuckled and leaned down to shower her face with sweet kisses. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. I just thought that everything was just a dream and you're..."

Haru smiled in understanding, feeling a tug in her c.h.e.s.t at the trauma she caused him.

"Good morning, or should I say, good evening, idiot husband." She gave him a lingering kiss as she spoke against his lips. "Your silly wife is hungry."

He stroked her hair lovingly. "All right, this idiot husband will now prepare your meal. Did you skip your lunch? What about snacks?"

She shook her head as her smile turned into a wide grin. "Vladimir and Fenrir rushed in while bawling their eyes out like a baby." She giggled upon remembering her kids' reaction earlier. "Anais, Fang, and Frost brought me food. Zenzen and Popo also came with snacks in the afternoon and we chatted a lot. So you see, I already had a lot of visitors while you were sleeping like a log."

Adis just smiled as he stood up and went inside the walk-in closet to get a new set of clothes while Haru arranged the bedsheet and blanket on their bed.

He was already pulling the hem of his shirt down when Haru nonchalantly added, "Ah, Adis, I need to go back to the past."

He stopped in his tracks and his muscles tensed at her revelation. The air around him rapidly became suffocating, and as though he had been possessed by an evil spirit, he instantly went mad.
