Rebirth: A Woman With Frozen Heart

Now that Ming Yue decided to live in Wu Family permanently, her plan to go to real estate agency was canceled automatically. Now the only thing she needed to do was to go to Uncle Chu about her plan in quiting her work and to invest in his business.

When Ming Yue mentioned her plan when the family gathered in the living room after breakfast, Uncle Jian-- Her father nodded in agreement and the whole family supported her. For the first time in Ming Yue's life she felt the support of family. She had to fight the tears that threatened to come out of the corner of her eyes.

On the other hand, Shi Jian was amazed by his adopted daughter. Not only having the special power, she was guarded by a guardian spirit and now she made a decision that no mere 15 years old girl could make! His heart filled with warmth and pride knowing this amazing little girl was now his daughter.

Recalling his father's words about how he saw Ming Yue as a lonely girl with desolate heart, Shi Jian felt his heart filled with rage at the a.d.u.l.ts who mistreated Ming Yue. How could they abandon a child like that? Even though it might be scary to have a child who had the power to see ghosts, but Shi Jian would never abandoned an innocent child like those people did. No wonder Ming Yue grew up to be a cold person. How hurt she must have been knowing that her own parents didn't even want her.

While holding these thoughts, Shi Jian watched Ming Yue's back as she walked away with the twins followed along by her sides.

"Dear, what's wrong?" Fan Mei saw how Shi Jian stared at Ming Yue until she disappeared beyond the door.

"I just thought that our adopted daughter is too pitiful." Shi Jian said with a heavy sigh, "To be abandoned by her own parents, then to be mistreated by her adoptive family, the wounds in her heart is..." Shi Jian couldn't continue further.

"I agree but because of that she has become a strong girl. Yue'er is even more m.a.t.u.r.e than the twins." Fan Mei giggled.

"All we can do is showering her with care and love." Grandpa Wu who listened to their conversation, joined in. "The twins already did it. I can see how they love Little Yue so much."

"Love? They worship Yue'er. Maybe because of the last night incident, they think of Yue'er as their heroes." Fan Mei said with a smile.

Grandpa Wu and Shi Jian laughed as they agreed to what Fan Mei said.

On the other side, Ming Yue was walking with Lin Shao and Lin Zhao by her sides. Bai Hu was carried in Lin Zhao's arms, it was her turn to play with Bai Hu. Bai Hu didn't care all that much who was carrying him, for him mortals were just the same.

"Sister Yue, after you finished with your business, can we visit your place again?" Lin Shao asked eagerly.

"Heh, brat. Look at you being all eager." Bai Hu snorted. He let the twins heard his words now but for others, they could only hear cat's meowing voice.

"It's because Sister Yue's home is amazing! I also want to play with the other guardians!" Lin Shao replied.

"I also want to speak with them more." Lin Zhao added.

"Okay but I won't be able to accompany you both." Ming Yue warned them. Hearing that, the twins gave a puzzled look.

"I have to learn Martial arts and Sword art." Ming Yue explained.

Lin Shao became excited right away. "Martial art and sword art?! Can I learn it too, Sister Yue?! Please, can I?" he begged Ming Yue in a spoiled tone.

"Only Martial arts, as for sword art you can't. as for the reason, I will explain it later. It's not good to talk about that here." Ming Yue answered while scanning around the street they were walking on.

As her eyes roamed around, her eyes caught a black land cruiser was stopping across the street. At first Ming Yue didn't really pay attention, but she stopped abruptly when the person who came out of the driver seat caught her eyes.

but why was he here? Ming Yue remembered that the first time she met Long Zhi Qiang was when she was in college.

Then how come he was in D city?

Seeing Ming Yue stopped abruptly and stared at the man across the street with horrid expression, Lin Shao frowned. "Sister Yue?"

Ming Yue's breath became slightly heavy, she didn't hear when Lin Shao called out her name. Her eyes never left Long Zhi Qiang's face as she lifted her hand and put it on her c.h.e.s.t.

'It's not beating hard..' Ming Yue mused inside, 'There is still heartache remains but my heart doesn't beat for him anymore.'

With a sigh of relief, Ming Yue turned her gaze away from the devilishly handsome looking man and resumed her steps. She ignored the man completely.

'..Long Zhi Qiang, this is where we part ways.'

'I can finally let you go now..'

However what Ming Yue didn't know, while she was saying goodbye, the other party would not let her go. Ming Yue thought that she could end the connection she had with Long Zhi Qiang but fate.. spoke differently...
