Rebirth: A Woman With Frozen Heart

"I am Ling Mao from the witch clan!" The cat exclaimed

"The Witch Clan?!" All three people spoke in sync.

Ghosts and evil spirits, heavenly beasts and now witch. Somehow Ming Yue encountered more and more mysteries of the world, yet.. she had a feeling that this was just the tip of the iceberg...

"To think Witch Clan exist.." Lin Zhao spoke, looking stunned.

"Yeah, ever since we know Sister Yue, we meet many of this weird things." Lin Shao agreed.

"Hey, don't talk like that. Doesn't that mean Sister Yue is weird?" Lin Zhao frowned.

"Well, she is right? in a way.."

"I got what you mean but even though she is weird, Sister Yue is cool."

"Well of course, even though she is weird, she is our coolest sister!"

"Can you both stop talking as if I am not here? I don't even know whether you are praising me or dissing me." Ming Yue reprimanded the twins as black lines were over her head.

"We are praising you!" The twins retorted.

Shaking her head, Ming Yue turned her gaze to meet the cat's eyes. "Moving on, I am sorry but I really don't know you, Ling Mao"

Tears dropped from the cat's eyes as it stared at Ming Yue in disbelief. Her mind filled with many thoughts. Did her lady lose her memories? Was she angry with her and decided to pretend not knowing her? Or was it her lady decided to abandon her and now they were strangers?

All of these thoughts swirled in her mind but another voice filled with anger could be heard along with the appearance of Bai Hu.

"I was wondering why I smelled a stinking smell, it turns out to be you, Ling Mao." Bai Hu growled, "What the hell are you doing here?!" He asked the black cat while giving deadly glare at it.

Ming Yue was quite surprised by Bai Hu's behavior. She knew Bai Hu was the explosive type of person, it could be seen by his interaction with Qing Long. However, his attitude to this black cat was totally different. It was rude and filled with hatred thus Ming Yue wanted to know. What exactly the mystery they were hiding? Was it related to Chang'e? Again?

"Okay, calm down. We better go to Tianshang De Kongjian first and continue there." Ming Yue said then together, sent them all to Tianshang De Kongjiang.

Inside a certain cave, there was an altar and a woman was floating while her body wrapped with dark purple chain..

"Chang'e!" A man with devilish handsome face rushed toward a woman whose body was covered in dark purple chain. His trembling hand was lifted, wanting to touch the woman delicate face. Even when her eyes closed, blood trickling down her soft red lips and her skin as pale as ghost, she was still the most beautiful in his eyes.

"Chang'e.. no.. please open your eyes! please tell me that I am not too late.. please.." The man spoke, his hoarse voice filled with misery. Soon the man summoned his blood moon sword and slashed the purple chain but the chain remained intact.

"Master, I can't destroy the chain. It's too powerful!" The blood moon's voice echoed in his mind.

*Clang!* *Clang!* *Clang!*

The man kept on trying despite what Blood Moon said, desperation was clearly painted on his face. His hand kept using the sword to cut the chain but it only made clashing sound.

"Master! Stop!"

*CLANG!* *CLANG!* *CLANG!*

The man's slashing sound became heavier.. harder.. but the chain remained the same. As if mocking his desperate and futile action.

"...Zhong..Kui.." A soft and hoarse whisper could be heard and the man stopped his movement. He turned his gaze to meet hers.

"Chang'e!" The man touched her face, his hand was trembling. "Wait for me, I will find a way to destroy this damn chain!"

A weak smile appeared on Chang'e's face, "..It's no use.. this chain..is.." Chang'e coughed blood once, she felt her time was drawing near.

"Chang'e.. No.. I won't give up! Just wait.. please.." Zhong Kui's eyes were stung, his sight became blurry, "....Don't go.."

Chang'e stared at the man with loving eyes, "..Zhong Kui.. I..." The chain slowly tightened, causing her to cough blood once again.

"..If there... is.. another life.." Chang'e started speaking but Zhong Kui shook his head as tears kept streaming like flowing water.

"No! Don't say it!!" His hand once again reached for the sword by his side and started to slash the chain over and over again but the chain kept tightening and slowly Chang'e's body shone bright.

"...If.. there is another life..." Chang'e muttered softly under her breath, her voice didn't reach Zhong Kui who was still slashing the chain. "..I want to.. love you again.."

Chang'e body was shattered and turned into particles of light and the chain disappeared along with it. Zhong Kui just stood there in silence, his mind became empty and it was replaced one emotion.

WRATH...

"Master.." Blood Moon tried to call him out, snapped him out of his daze. However, silence was the only answer Zhong Kui gave.

"..Master..?" Blood Moon tried again and this time Zhong Kui reacted.

"...Gone.." Zhong Kui whispered as his other hand was lifted and touched his c.h.e.s.t, "..She is gone.."

"Master.. Please calm--"

"Noisy.." Zhong Kui spoke, his tone was colder than ice. It caused Blood Moon to be speechless. "..If you keep being noisy.. I will destroy you by own hand.."

Blood Moon was taken aback, this was the first time his master spoke to him like this. "..Master.."

Zhong Kui suddenly let out a sinister laughter, it echoed around the cave. "..Pests.. Yes.. all of them are pest.."

"Those who causes Chang'e and I to be separated.. Those who makes her out of my reach... all of them are pests.."

Zhong Kui laughed once again, louder this time. He was losing his mind, falling into madness. "..Pests.. must be destroyed.." He said with laughter, "..wait for me Chang'e.. I will wipe out all the pests.. then I shall go to where you are.."
