Rebirth: A Woman With Frozen Heart

The day passed as another came, it brought a new trouble for Ming Yue. Xiao Yin's mother, Li Hua came to school in anger. She made a demand to Vice Principal- no.. Principal Zhuge to call Ming Yue to meet her. Thus.. here she was standing in front of Li Hua, inside the principal office.

"So you are Ming Yue, the cursed child of D city?" Li Hua asked, her nose was raised slightly as she stared at the little girl in front of her arrogantly.

Ming Yue frowned slightly, not because of what the woman said but because of the evil spirit attached to this woman before her. The evil spirit looked like a chameleon and it was as big as the medium sized dog, it eyes were four and from its mouth, dark green fog was leaked. The evil spirit was leisurely hanging around Li Hua's shoulder.

'This woman.. has committed a taboo..' Ming Yue mused inwardly, but she wondered who had become the victim.

What Ming Yue meant about taboo was 'Sacrifice Ritual'. It was one of the taboos that mortals could do in exchange for fortune or fame. However the price was huge, it needed a sacrifice from a direct line of family members. It could be son, daughter, father, mother, or siblings.

'Then who became the sacrifice?' Ming Yue mused.

"Hey! I am talking to you!" Li Hua's voice snapped Ming Yue from her deep thought.

"I heard you." Ming Yue replied as she met the woman's eyes, "You don't need to shout like that."

"Then tell me, were you the one who hurt my daughter?" Li Hua interrogated Ming Yue.

"Yes. Xiao Yin and I had a bet before and she just paid the bet, that is all." Ming Yue explained in brief manner.

"Even if it's a bet, you don't have to be vicious!" Li Hua argued, "I want you to apologize to my daughter!"

"I refuse and talking about vicious.." Ming Yue sneered at Li Hua, "Do you have the right to say that to me?"

Principal Zhuge who was staying silent the whole time, staring at both parties calmly, reacted to Ming Yue's words.

"What are you talking about?" Li Hua asked, frowning in confusion.

"..Sacrifice Ritual.." Ming Yue said and hearing those two words, Li Hua's face became pale. Her face expression was horrible.

"Y-You.. H..How.."

"I wonder how~" Ming Yue faked a dramatic face, showing that she was confused before adding more explosion for Li Hua, "..You know, I am called cursed child because I can see things that normal people can not see."

Li Hua's mouth was opening and closing without any words came out of it. Seeing Li Hua's reaction, Ming Yue smirked evilly. Her expression now was similar to a villainess that was described in books.

"..Do you want to know what I see?" She asked, her eyes twinkled with mischief. "Should I say it here?"

"I see--"

"STOP!!!" Li Hua reacted instantly then when she realized what she had done, Li Hua clasped her mouth. Principal Zhuge gave her suspicious look, the air in that office dripped with tension. Ming Yue snorted softly as she turned around and moved to the door but stopping once she held the knob.

"..You had done a taboo.. If you think that there was no karma, then you are wrong." Ming Yue said and opened the door, "I'll make sure you get your retribution. That evil spirit of yours, will be the one that eats you later." With that Ming Yue disappeared beyond the door.

"I am sorry, Mrs. Xiao I think it's better to talk to the Wu family for this matter." Principal Zhuge gave a peaceful solution, however.. from the look Li Hua gave as she stared the door, it highly unlikely she would agree.

Li Hua was trembling on her spot but her eyes were bloodshot and her hand balled into a fist, nails digging into her palm. This was a miscalculation of hers, Li Hua admitted that she didn't think Ming Yue could really see what people couldn't.

'Cursed Child.. It fits that damn girl..' Li Hua cursed inwardly. Now she needed to erase this girl from the face of the earth. Deciding to kill Ming Yue, Li Hua left Principal Zhuge in his office without any words. Alone in his office, Principal Zhuge sighed heavily, feeling that ever since Ming Yue had a change of personality, everything seemed fallen into chaos.

No.. probably that would happen when a person who always got bullied, fighting back. The people around her wanted to trample her back so she couldn't fight back anymore but the result was different. Ming Yue, that girl, she kept on fighting back.

Recalling what Ming Yue said to Mrs. Xiao, Principal Zhuge's eyes narrowed slightly. Ming Yue said before leaving that Mrs. Xiao had done a taboo and before she said about Sacrifice Ritual.. and Mrs. Xiao became pale as soon as she heard those two words.

'Don't tell me..' Principal Zhuge mused and another heavy sigh escaped his mouth.

"Why do I have a feeling that this city full of dangerous people?" Principal Zhuge muttered under his breath.

In fact, what Principal Zhuge's feeling was slightly off the mark. Not only in D City, many cultivator clans spread around the country. Even though they usually lived in 'Hidden Realm', a realm where all cultivators lived mostly but some clan had branches outside in mortal realm.

Not only cultivators, inhabitants of Demon Realm also did the same. Some of them like Witch Clan, Fox Clan, Vampire Clan and Wolf Clan also had branches in mortal world. However in Vampire Clan's case, they had to use 'Incense of Living' to mask the yin in their bodies.

As for heaven realm, the gods and goddesses rarely came down because they didn't really have any interest to mortal worlds and they only came down when cultivators couldn't handle a certain things such as Demons outbreak or a dangerous curse that had taken many mortals' life.
