Rebirth: A Woman With Frozen Heart

On a rooftop of five story building, a young girl stood. Wearing a black tight jeans, a black hoodie jacket and a black mask which cover half of her face, the girl watched the night view of busy street from the top. Her black hair danced along the cold night breeze as her eyes paid attention to people walking to and from different directions.

"Master."

A crystal sword floated closer next to the girl, "You look so cool standing like that."

Mirth could seen on the girl's eyes upon hearing the sword's words, "Too bad we aren't looking for hot studs but a demon instead." She said while chuckling softly. "Moreover I have to cover my face like this. Hope I don't draw attention to myself when the time comes."

"Of course not Master!" The sword spoke.

Yes.. the girl was Ming Yue, herself and the talking sword floated next to her was Silver Moon.

The reason why she stood on a rooftop of five story building in the middle of the night was because of what happened at Tianshang De Kongjian.

[TWO MUTILATED DEAD BODIES WAS FOUND!!]

[Two mutilated dead bodies was found at the dark alley in district D.7. According to witnesses, there were only two pairs of legs and arms of different s.e.x when it was found. "...He's starting to take action." Ming Yue's brows knitted as her expression turned grim.

"If we don't stop him, there will be more victims." Zhu Que said, "More victims means he will get stronger."

"True, with each blood he devours, his cultivation will get stronger." Xuan Wu agreed, "But.."

"But what?" Ming Yue asked curiously.

"If that demon runs rampage, piling up so many mortal victims in fast pace, someone from hidden world might notice and deal with it." Xuan Wu explained.

Ming Yue shook her head, "We have to deal with this demon ourselves. Waiting for someone from hidden world to deal with him means more people will die. I don't want that." Ming Yue said, "..Those people.. the mortals, they have their own lives to live and it's not fair to rob it from them just like that only for cultivation."

Hearing Ming Yue's words, Zhu Que closed her eyes with a knowing smile on her face. "Somehow I knew you would say that, Master."

A soft chuckle escaped Xuan Wu's mouth as he lifted his hand and patted Ming Yue's head gently, loving smile was on his face. "She is the Master we proud of after all." Xuan Wu agreed to Zhu Que's words.

'Seeking justice for poor mortals, that part of you never change..' Xuan Wu added inwardly as he stared at the young girl in doting manner.

Fan Mei took one step forward, her hand held Ming Yue arm tightly, worry was shown on her face "Yue'er, I know I can't stop you in this matter but.." She paused slightly before continuing, "Be careful. Don't push yourself too hard, okay?"

Seeing the worry on her mother's face, Ming Yue nodded "Yes, Mother."

Ming Yue turned around slightly toward the voice, a black cat had landed softly on the rooftop. "The formation seal has been placed perfectly."

The black cat was none other than Ling Mao of course. As she stepped closer toward Ming Yue, she stopped halfway and stared at Ming Yue from head to toe. Her eyes sparkled so brightly like those stars in the night sky.

"Master, you look so cool!" She commented while wearing an expression full of worship.

Silver Moon flew to Ling Mao's side, "I know right~?! She is like that female soldier we watch on TV!"

"Mn! Mn!" Ling Mao nodded vigorously.

Ming Yue raised a brow, "What female soldier?" she asked in confusion. Ming Yue rarely watched TV so she didn't know what female soldier they were talking about.

"The Moon Soldier!" Both of them answered at the same time.

"Master, when you encounter that demon, don't forget to say 'I am the Moon Goddess, champion of justice! On behalf of the moon, I will right wrongs and triumph over evil, and that means you!' phrase before you fight him!" Silver Moon floated up an down excitedly, somehow Ming Yue could see a picture of a small girl jumping up and down cutely on the background.

Hm? Wait a damn whole minute..

Did her sword just say that famous phrase of a certain TV animation show?!

When did her sword have time to watch something like that?!

Moreover Ling Mao also watched it?!

"I agree! Such words fit Master well!" Ling Mao added excitedly, her eyes sparkled so much that Ming Yue feared ray of light could burst out from it.

What did she mean by saying those words fitted her well?!

Did she have THAT kind of image inside the little girl's mind?!

Not knowing the inner struggles inside their master's heart due to their behavior and words, both the sword and the cat kept on talking.

"I know right~?! After Master defeated that demon! She will say 'Fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight, never running from a real fight, she is the one named Moon Goddess!'." Silver Moon said in more excited manner.

"Wooow! I can imagine how cool Master will be! You are awesome, Lady Yin!" Ling Mao stared at the crystal sword in reverence.

Silver Moon twirling its body, "Hmph~ Of course I am awesome. Me and Master are one, you know~" She replied. From the tone, Ming Yue could imagine her smugly expression. "We will destroy evil in style~!"

"Wow! I wish I can be like you, Lady Yin!" Ling Mao earnestly said the words as her pure eyes stared at the sword like those teenagers stared at idols.

"Fu Fu Fu~ Don't worry, sweetie kitty. This Lady Yin shall teach you how to behave in style~! Just follow my lead and you will become as awesome as me~!" Silver Moon floated slightly higher, looking smug.

Who would say something so cringey when facing an opponent?!

This had nothing to do with love AT ALL!

Unable to hear more about this moon soldier matter any longer, Ming Yue decided to cut in between of their heated conversation. "Both of you, please stop it. We need to be serious."

"Ah? But Master! This IS a serious matter!" Silver Moon retorted, "We need something stylish in doing our mission!"

"Uh.. No, we don't. No one will say something like that in real battle." Ming Yue replied, deep down made a mental note to supervise what these two watched from now on. It would be troublesome if they watched weird TV shows. Moreover, she didn't want the pure Ling Mao got corrupted even more.

Somehow it as if she was having two worrisome little sisters. Maybe little brothers might be better?

However, what Ming Yue didn't know, sometime mere thoughts would become reality in unexpected ways.

'Master, it's time.'

Qing Long's voice echoed in her mind. Ming Yue reached to her pocket and took out the phone. The time showed 10 PM, which likely the time for the demon to lurk and searching for prey. Busy night time would not be the best time after all.

Putting phone into the space, Ming Yue spoke "Get ready, it's time."

Silver Moon flew to Ming Yue's hand and Ling Mao stood next to Ming Yue in her cat form. Ming Yue stared at the distance and announced an order.

"Activate the formation seal!"
