Rebirth: Blades Of Exile

Chapter 11 - Desperation Part 2

The fallen king Morador, Sky breaker and the wielder of Haeress, sat on his petrified throne, gazing down at the unmoving Link.

"You have finally made it here, young man"

He said while standing up, he was a 6 foot tall stone man, with an impressive build.

before I could get over my amazement at the stone man's level and him being able to converse.

I felt an intense pain in my c.h.e.s.t as if a truck had struck me right there and then.

the next moment I came to realize, I have been blown all the way out from the throne room to the outside of the palace, taking down several walls with me.

my eyes blurry, and my c.h.e.s.t caved in, with my hands shaking I looked through what was left of the potions I had.

most of the vials were broken, fortunately, I managed to have around 7 undamaged left

quickly downing one of the advanced health potions, I felt my pains lessen and my wound slowly regenerate.

I could finally see what had whacked me, inside the throne room, stood the stone king Morador with his left arm stretched out, seeming to have just executed a jab.

With a look of disappointment, his lips parted.

"Just another weakling"

he turned his back to me and started walking away.

The logical choice for me here was to run away as far as I could, and never take a step back into this palace.

but...

this scene, this f.u.c.k.i.n.g scene, I have been through the exact situation before.

The man who took the life of my beloved right in front of my eyes, severed my arm, while I could do nothing but be the useless bastard I was.

had that same disposition, that same look of disappointment and he spoke the exact same words to me.

slowly the image of the stone king overlapped with that man's, at that moment, I have already lost every ounce of sanity in me.

I felt something break inside me, my rage overtook me and I dashed toward the fading silhouette.

"LIMIT BREAKER"

Dashing towards Morador, link branded his weapons, in just the blink of an eye, he appeared beside the stone king, his blades slashing towards him.

"Ants should stay in the tunnels where they belong"

Link's blades moved faster than sound itself, generating energy waves with every slash.

But Morador blocked every and each strike using only his index finger.

"as I said, a weakling"

The humiliation only served to feed and grow the furry dwelling inside links heart.

his strikes grew more irrational, with no care for his own body, his eyes exhibiting his madness.

but to no avail, not a single strike reached his enemy.

suddenly, the king broke his passive stand and struck link with his right fist.

'AAACK'

His one punch sent link flying thousands of meters away, while he spat a long line of blood through his flight.

his Health points were down to 3%, without an an an ounce of hesitation he downed 2 more advanced potions, and got back on his feet, his only purpose was to end the life of his enemy or die trying.

3 seconds later, he was once again laying in a pool of his own blood, most of his bones broken.

drinking 2 more potions, he ran towards Morador once again.

but the outcome had not changed, his strikes, all blocked, until he was beaten to the cold floor once again.

consuming what was left of the potions he had, link assaulted the king Morador, again and again, forgetting his very own existence.

until a slash, by a fluke, landed, it did land but had no apparent damage.

The fallen king had finally seemed to run out of patient, Irritation apparent on his face he said.

"That's it"

What was left of link rationality told him to back off, he sensed an unfathomable pressure press down on him, he immediately tried to retreat jumping back, but it was too late.

SSSSSSSSSWWWWWWWW

he suddenly lost his balance and fell on his b.u.t.t.

he could see the stone kind Morador, holding a stone saber, with runes carved on it, there was also some blood on it.

...

Wait, blood?

I suddenly looked down and saw that one of my legs was missing.

"AGGGGGHHHH"

My screams echoed through the silent ancient city, while my right leg lays two meters away from me.

I leaned on the ground, gazing at the sky with lifeless eyes once again, expecting full well the end of my life.

but the stone man turned his back to me and started walking away once again.

"Why are you not killing me"

the stone man suddenly stopped and said.

"You are not worthy"
