Rebirth Of The Virtual World Legend

Chapter 17 - Server Announcement

"Ding! Congratulations! You are the first player to kill a Steel Tier boss. Your glorious achievement will be recorded in history! Do you wish to announce your name and make the whole world aware of your glorious deed?"

Ye Cheng was surprised a little. He had seen this announcement previously when he killed the Double-Headed Bloody Lion, but as he wanted to keep a low profile at that time he chose not to announce it, he didn't think that he would encounter an event like this again.

But now he changed his mind spreading his name across the server and be admired by all, was this not the sole intention of every online gamer?

Moreover, it would ease his process in making money as he become famous many players would know about him and more business would come. He might also create his own guild, attract more players to join him and this can attract some wealthy sponsors.

So his immediate reaction was naturally picking "Yes".

Suddenly another thought came to his mind. He had nothing right now. Besides Fatty Wang whom he didn't hear that he had joined any guild and Giant Axe of Diamond Shield Guild he didn't have a good relations with any other player, he was completely alone! What if within this period a strong guild had their eyes on him? He was powerless to reject had they sent an invitation. Once he had refused their recruitment, endless harassment and trouble would await him!

Ye Cheng was not only 'playing' the game, he had wanted to use the game to make money, to acc.u.mulate enough fortune to pay his debt and provide a good living conditions for his wife and daughter.

Ye Cheng was stuck in dilemma, wither he should chose to announce his name or not.

"I have already offended the Crimson Fire Guild adding another one or two won't make any difference. Without risk there won't be gain" after resolving his determination Ye Cheng decided to announce his name to the server.

"Server Announcement: Player (Wolf Fang) has successfully killed the Yellow Rooster King, Level 15 Steel Tier Boss (China Server). This achievement will be recorded in the Hall of Fame! Please celebrate and cheer for him!"

"Server Announcement: Player (Wolf Fang) has successfully killed the Yellow Rooster King, Level 15 Steel Tier Boss (China Server), obtaining 5 Gold Coins from the System Rewards!"

"Server Announcement: Player (Wolf Fang) has successfully killed the Yellow Rooster King, Level 15 Steel Tier Boss (China Server). 100 Reputation Points across all races in the league are awarded!"

A series of system messages suddenly filled the screen, these massages would soon cause a gear vibration to all the players in the server!

"Ding! You've received an extra reward: Luck +1!"

A Luck Attribute reward! Ye Cheng felt quite surprised. Luck was an attribute that could not be upgraded through any equipment and it was a hidden attribute that wasn't open when he started the game, yet it remained a very important attribute. As this attribute could affect a monster's drop rate as well as the success rate of upgrading equipment and rune weapons, unless a player opened his luck attribute, it was randomly assigned by the system.

Ye Cheng didn't think that solo killing a boss would open it. Although the Double-Headed Bloody Lion was two tiers higher than the Yellow Rooster King, it wasn't killed by Ye Cheng alone but with the help of more than 300 players of the Crimson Fire Guild and Ye Cheng only sent the last blow so the rewards from the system were not that generous.

Of course as Ye Cheng got the loot alone, he didn't mind the other rewards in any case he wouldn't have been a match of a Lv15 silver tier boss alone.

Looking at the 5 server announcements showing repetitively on the screen, even Ye Cheng had felt a little smug. He then averted his gaze from the announcement and looked towards the drops from the Yellow Rooster King.

As Ye Cheng was pleased with himself while checking the drops. On the other side it was not as calm as here at all, the sudden server announcements had caused an uproar among players in the whole China region.

"What the f*ck? I've been killing monsters for so long only to reach Level 6 and someone had actually killed a Level 15 boss?"

"Is this some kind of a F**king joke? A boss killed in a solo fight"

"Is this for real, a solo fight?"

The monsters in the game has grades of White, Steel, Copper, Silver, Gold and Legendry and every grade would have the ranks of Normal, Elite and boss. The boss of a grade can be even stronger than normal monsters of the next grade.

For example this Level 15 Steel Tier Boss Yellow Rooster King can be stronger than normal Lv15 Copper grade monsters.

This is the reason that the other players can't accept that a player in the beginner village had the ability to solo kill this boss.

"F*cking server, I got distracted reading the server announcement and got myself killed by a monster!"

"F*ck, it must be a hack. How could anyone perform a solo attack on a Steel Tier grade boss!"

"F*cking GM, come out and face this lord now! I want a d*mn explanation"

"The sooner you give up the better, "Legend of Heroes" is only monitored by the server which is a super computer, and there is no GM to hear you. So it is fair and just!"

"Fair my ass!"

"Just my ass!"

"No more asses, you should focus on speed leveling that is more important than the sh*t talk!"

"How can we level up when there are more players than monsters. As a Magician, I haven't even casted any spells. I've been hitting them with my wand the whole time!"

"The one above, let's shake hands. I'm a Priest and I don't even dare cast spells. With a two-second delay, there would be no chance to even kill a monster!"

Soon after, someone posted on the forum saying he had deliberately searched for the Yellow Rooster King and discovered that its HP was a shocking 20000. Only one hit and a Level 6 or lower player can take a free ticket trip to the resurrection point. How could anyone initiate a solo fight? He then directed his complaint to the game company questioning them of the existence of hacks or bugs.

Almost immediately, the company replied to the post, "No hack could be used in 'Legend of Heroes', while the case of bugs could never be completely fixed. Based on the playback data of the game, however, the first player to have killed the Yellow Rooster King did not take advantage of any bug."

No sooner, the forum had livened up. People were wondering and discussing how the player "Wolf Fang" had killed the Yellow Rooster King!

With just one touch, the Yellow Rooster King's loot entered Ye Cheng's inventory.

[Yellow Rooster King's Arm Guard] (Steel Tier)

Strength: +1

Level Requirement: 10

Special effects:

Increase the hand speed by 8%

[Yellow Rooster King's C.h.e.s.t Plate] (Steel Tier, Heavy Armor)

Vitality: +2

Level Requirement: 10

Special effects:

Increase the Defense by 8%

[Yellow Rooster King's Leather Armor] (Steel Tier)

Vitality: +1

Level Requirement: 10

Special effects:

Increase the HP by 6%

Warrior and Knight Classes wore heavy armor, Hunter and Thief classes wore leather armor while Magician and Priest classes wore cloth armor.

Of the 3 equipment Ye Cheng had looted, he could only use 2 of them. It was not too bad but he had to reach Level 10 before he was able to use them.

In 'Legend of Heroes', it was rare for low level Steel Tier equipment to add Attribute Points. The number of the Attribute Points added depended on the level of the equipment the higher he level the more would be the increase in the added Attribute Points, while the special effect would depend on the tier of the equipment.

Of course there was some special equipment that can have abilities stronger than its level like the "Panther Dagger" in Ye Cheng's hand.

The next item loot was not an equipment but a bloody severed head of the panther.

[Rooster Head] (Steel Tier, Special Item)

Description: This is the head of the Yellow Rooster King! If you give it back to the Village Elder, you will definitely be generously rewarded for your contribution to maintain the safety of the village!

Bound.

A bound item would be an item that players cannot trade or give away, which meant that the rewards could only be claimed by Ye Cheng.

The corpse of the Yellow Rooster King disappeared instantaneously as soon as Ye Cheng had finished collecting all his battle loots. He then proceeded to the Rare Medical Herbs Field.

"Ding! You have used <Reaping> on the Rare Medical Herbs Field. You have obtained Coptis Chinensis x2. Your <Reaping> skill has increased by 2 points!"

Ye Cheng grinned as he picked up the two Coptis Chinensiss.

He kept his dagger and left the valley, beginning to wander around in search of more Medical Herbs to collect. The respawn rate of the Coptis Chinensis was 1 hour, so he recorded his time before he left. When the time arrived, he would return to collect them again.

On the other hand, the respawn time of the Yellow Rooster King was 24 hours. Ye Cheng would have had acquired many plants of Coptis Chinensiss by the time the boss respawned.
