Reborn: The Villainess Shines

Chapter 14 - School Saint (13)

I noticed that Yui was furious that her plans got ruined, I wanted to laugh at the effort she was putting into maintaining her images in front of the staff members. I held in my laughter while working on my phone, 'Yui, if you thought me showing up at the competition was a surprise, I have an even bigger present for you.' I thought with a smile.

[Dear host, the female lead is becoming darker. Remember this world needs the female lead just as it needs a great villain.]

'Even if she becomes a little dark, she might finally show her true face. When people see that side of her it will only help me solve Mayumi's wish.' I told Momo.

[If the female lead completely darkens, she might resort to very dangerous means to end the cause of her problems. Please be careful, dear host.]

'So she will do something worse than hiring people to kidnap me, very interesting. Don't worry, Momo, I already have a plan that will solve all the problems your boss had with this world.' I told Momo, just as I noticed my parents walk into the room.

At first, they were all smile when looking at Yui, but then my mother went pale when she noticed me on the sofa. "Mayumi, you're here?" My mother asked with a pale face.

I almost sneered at her, what kind of mother does the things she did to her own flesh and blood. Instead, I gave them all a warm smile, "Mother you asked the same thing as Yui, why wouldn't I be here? This is such a big competition that could change my life." I said with a smile.

Yui frowned when I talked about changing my life and my mother gave me a look before walking over to Yui. "Sweetheart, don't pout this competition can change your life." She then looked over at me, "Mayumi, you really should just let your sister have this opportunity, this can really help her," she said with such a sugary voice.

I just looked at this woman who is supposed to be my mother, then I got up and walked toward her. After really looking into this woman's eyes I started to laugh, "I really couldn't believe it but it's true," I said between laughs.

My parents and Yui were giving me confused looks, then my father finally spoke up. "Mayumi, what are you talking about?" He asked. I finally stopped laughing and gave them all a hard glare, "What I'm talking about is how my mother who birthed me has no love in her heart for me." When I stated that fact my mother gave me a deep look and I could tell she wanted to correct me but I cut her off before she got a chance.

"Don't bother trying to lie and say you care, because if you loved me even a little bit you would never have hired someone to kidnap me just to make Yui happy. You all keep thinking about Yui but it seemed you forgot you have two daughters. I don't know what happened for you to despise me but I will not put aside my life and goals to cater to the wishes of my younger sister."

When I finished my piece I grabbed my phone and headed for the door, all of sudden my father grabbed my arm, "Mayumi, don't leave. We care for you but Yui is special and we just wanted to make her shine like a star." I pulled my arm out of his grasp and keep myself from crying and hitting my so-called father.

"If that's the case, then go ahead and make your precious daughter shine. Just realize, for the sake of that special daughter you have lost another." I then walked out the door not giving any of them another look.

I was standing outside the dressing room and listening to everything that happened in the room. In my heart, I was hoping that her parents would correct Mayumi, but when her father stopped her to say Yui was special, I almost kicked the door in and yelled at her entire family.

When she came out for one brief moment I noticed a small sadness in her eyes. I grabbed her hand and she looked at me with kind eyes. "Are you ready?" I asked her while giving her a warm and encouraging smile. Any sadness that might have been in her eyes disappeared and was replaced with a determined look.

She gave my hand a squeeze and then walked toward the backstage area, but not before turning and giving the brightest smile ever shown on her face, "Come on, it's time to show the world who the real shining star is in the Sunohara family."

I felt my heart pound and followed her down the hall knowing the world will change with Mayumi Sunohara showing her talent.
