Yang Chen had his eyes closed as rhythmic breathing sounds came out of him. The people were looking around the bus and their heart filled were with worry and tension. They have been travelling for two days and stopped at gas stations for many times which caused their tension to increase during the trip. Thankfully, They didn't meet many monsters during and the monsters that stopped them were easily killed by Yang Chen.

Yang Chen opened his eyes and told the Bus Driver the Military Base location. The driver followed Yang Chen and drove for a few hours before stopping due to a roadblock.

"We will leave the bus and walk to the base. Take the remaining gas tanks with us" said Yang Chen.

The group left the bus and started walking toward the base. Yang Chen walked in front of the Group while Lu Xiaoyu walked in the middle.

The Group reach the base after walking for half an hour. Looking at the abandoned military base, Yang Chen nodded.

"System, I want to make this base a stronghold for my people!" said Yang Chen.

There were many special abilities and he didn't want to choose hastily. He decided that to buy upgrades to the Stronghold. Yang Chen knew that he should buy defences as he will leave the Stronghold and look for Lu Wan.

He chose the StrongHold defences and looked at what he could buy.

1- strengthened Wood Wall: Give protection against Level 1-2 creatures.

2- strengthened Stone Wall: Give Protection against Level 3-4 creatures.

Price: 1000 Stronghold points.

Light formed around the military base and caused a Stone Wall to surround the entire base.

Yang Chen's group took a deep breath seeing the stone wall that appeared suddenly. The military Base surroundings have completely changed.

All the walls and structures around the stronghold disappeared and were replaced by this tall Stone Wall. The stonewall had a large gate that gives the group hope.

"Yang Chen, what did you do?!" asked Lu Xiaoyu with a quivering voice.

"I built a safe haven for all of you" smiled Yang Chen.

"You call this 'building'?!!!" asked Lu Xiaoyu.

Yang Chen ignored Lu Xiaoyu and opened the Stronghold stats.

Yang Chen was ecstatic seeing the Stronghold stats. Now, he will hunt evolved beasts and preserve their meat for eating and bring water to the Stronghold.

Yang Chen made the group enter the stronghold and he went to the river beside the Stronghold. It took him around 10 minutes of walking to reach the river. He found that the water was clear and could be drunk without any problem. Knowing that the people have a stable water supply, Yang Chen head to hunt beasts.

Yang Chen estimated that 5 evolved beasts will be enough for them during the 10 days he will spend in Shingjing city. He planned on training them after he comes back with Lu Wan.

Yang Chen's senses were sharp and could easily sense the presence of beasts easily due to his high perception stats.

He found two large bears fighting each other.

Yang Chen smiled as he saw the bears. " Two Evolved bears will be a good beginning". He waited until one of the bears killed the other. Yang Chen moved and cut the head of the remaining bear in one swift slash. He then dragged the corpses back to the Stronghold.

The people were surprised by the two large bears that Yang Chen brought. Also, Yang Chen collected a large number of tree branches and put them in front of the Bear corpses.

"Do You know how to preserve the meat by smoke?" asked Yang Chen.

One of the people told Yang Chen that he knows the method.

"Good, Use it on the bear's meat while i hunt more beasts," said Yang Chen as he left to hunt the beasts. He took around three hours to hunt three bears. Yang Chen instructed Lu Xiaoyu and the people to be to look at the sky. the smell might attract a flying beast. If a flying beast came, then shoot it down.

With this, Yang Chen has collected the needed amount of food for the people. Now, he has to collect water for them. He rested for an hour before searching the stronghold for anything that can be used to carry water. Thankfully, he found 10 large trash cans that can be used to store water.

He went with 4 people and started filling the trash cans with water. They repeated it two times and filled the 8 trash cans. The last two trash cans were cleaned as the meat will be stored in them.

Now, Yang Chen could leave the stronghold without worry about them. He felt tiredness engulfing him and he laid on the ground. Yang Chen was satisfied with his work. He slept soundly and without worry for the first time after the apocalypse. When Yang Chen woke up, he told the group that he will leave today. Lu Xiaoyu wanted to leave with him but Yang Chen refused, She was the strongest person after him and he needed her to stay and protect the people in the stronghold.

Before leaving the stronghold, Yang Chen decided to try his luck with the lottery ticket.

What Yang Chen won form the Lottery ticket left him speechless.

He estimated that he will need around half a day to reach the City with his speed. Yang Chen was sure that Level 3 creatures have appeared in the city and there might be Level 4 creatures lurking in the darkness. If he attracts the attention of more than one level 4 creature then death will be his fate. He will need to grind level 3 creatures and get better equipment if he wants to survive in the Shingjing city.

After 10 hours, Yang Chen received a system notification.
