Reincarnated Assassin

The boat was divided into four quarters. The top area in the back was the main quarters. It was the biggest room which also served as a public navigation area. This was typically used by the Captain since it was the nicest room but as well busy in the day. Since Captains have work to do in the day, they don't care for their room is used during the day. Making this perfect for them.

The other three quarters were used as private rooms on the lower floors for valued guests or outstanding crewmates. Since Ritzy and Princess Diana were valued guests, they were given two of the three private quarters. Since Ritzy didn't feel like assigning the third room, he told the Captain to give it to the first mate.

Everyone going aboard the ship, the crewmates finally finished Ritzy's orders. Looking at what they've done, metal plates could be seen placed on both sides of the ship's wooden rails.

Captain Shills confused by all this and only knowing the plates a death trap with only one set of plates, he voiced his concerns.

"L'a'rd Ritzy, what is this for? I don't want to sound rude but m'a' friends who experience having their sh.i.p.s with metal plates called it ah nightmare. Could you please explain what is happening?'.

Ritzy approached the captain, staring him directly into his pupils. Shills became nervous but made sure to not break eye contact.

Ritzy,

"The captain doubting my judgment for his crews' safety reassures me that I received someone capable".

Shills,

"...".

Ritzy walked up to the plates and explained slowly,

"The danger of having metal plates on the railing is when it's hit by a harpoon, which causes the wooden part to break into many splinters from the impact. Making it much more dangerous than when it only has the wooden railing".

"But if you see here, with the second metal plate, were essentially blocking the path of the destroyed wood. Making no projectiles to be shot at us while having the metal plates. Only leaving the benefits".

Shills,

"ah, I underst'a'nd now. Since it only benefits us now, I will not complain anymore... With that d'a'ne, will you like to depart soon?".

Ritzy,

"Yes, everyone is already here so set sail. Notify me when we pass the security checkpoint".

Shills,

"Will'a' do".

Ritzy picked up the luggage he left at the entrance to the ship and headed downstairs inside the ship. The ship was compromised of four levels. The entrance was the third floor which also held the captain's quarters in the back of the ship. Outside the captain quarters were stirs lead down to the second floor while also having stair to go on the roof of the captain's quarters. Making it the fourth floor.

The second floor was the storage area and where the private quarters resided. The floor below was the common quarters were all the unimportant guests and crewmates slept.

Ritzy went down to the second floor and entered his room. Ritzy then sat on his bed and checked his luggage. Making sure he had all his clothes, money, and magic items. Having everything accounted for, Ritzy put his luggage under his bed.

Suddenly a knock was heard.

"Lord, may I come in".

Ritzy,

"Yes".

Coming inside, Alter was carrying a scythe, two-handed long sword, and a multiple knives holster.

"Lord Ritzy, I brought these here because I think you would prefer them at hand than in the storage".

Ritzy,

"Yes, thank you. Please place them on the side. The floor is okay".

Alter carefully placing Ritzy's weapons onto the floor, next to the wall, Alter gave a slight bow.

"Lord Ritzy, may I please voice my concern".

Ritzy,

"Speak".

Alter,

"My concern is your relationship with Elf Scarlett...".

Ritzy,

"Don't be afraid, I value your opinion, Knight Alter".

Alter took in a deep breath and spoke,

"At first I was fine with you having elves as slaves since we're going to the elven territory. I reasoned they were probably for cover or something I couldn't think of yet. But after seeing you coming to the dock with Elf Scarlett, I see it's a bit more than that".

"Concerned, I fell I needed to remind you the Reds household is very much against races other than human. The only ones your father tolerates are Nyphms and Dwarves. Having Scarlett as your mistress will cause major problems".

Ritzy,

"I know my father is against demihumans and see them all with disgust. But you must remember my father does not define me anymore. I may be his child but he is no longer responsible for me since I've become my own noble".

Once a child becomes a noble, the head of the household is no longer responsible for raising their children. Unlike commoners who define a.d.u.l.thood with being able to work. Noble children are defined as full-fledged a.d.u.l.ts when they become nobles themselves or hold a high ranking position in the family.

The only reason nobles take care of their children even though they're already capable of work or become a noble it to make sure they don't disgrace the family name. Ritzy in this case, his negating his allowed dependence on his father.

Alter,

"I-i understand but you must realize that he will disown you if you ignore his words. If he orders you to get rid of her, what will you do lord?".

Ritzy,

"As long as he doesn't interfere with me seeing the rest of the family, nothing will happen".

Alter wasn't satisfied with that answer since it didn't exactly answer his question but he decided to stop voicing his opinion for now.

Alter gave another bow,

"I will return to the public quarters my lord, call me for anything anytime my lord".

Leaving, Alter opened the door and saw Scarlett waiting at the door. Not saying anything, Alter walked passed her and returned to the common area.

Scarlett seeing him gone, she entered the room and closed the door.
