Reincarnated Assassin

The group of heavily armed beastkins made it to the first catapult. The windshield was still active so the other soldiers defending the nearby machinery couldn't help the catapult group currently being attack by the beastkin. With no help, the catapult group was quickly disposed of.

bear beastkin,

"Shobo! Destroy the catapult! The rest of use will get the humans that passed the first group! Remember, once we deal with this new group, we'll race to the next catapult!".

Beastkin group,

"Sir!".

Shobo was a red lizard beastkin that could use fire magic. Shobo was currently acc.u.mulating vasts amounts of magic in his mouth. Once he felt he couldn't hold his mouth closed any longer, he opened his mouth. Letting out an amazing amount of fire onto the catapult.

The nearby men still protecting their assigned machines were mesmerized. Magicians weren't common but they were all veterans. In many past battles, they experienced the unfairness that magicians had on them, but it has never been at the lizards level.

The lizard could be considered not only the #1 fire magician in the Pheonix kingdom, but also part of the top 10 magicians in general.

One of the knights nearby commented,

"We're dead, there's no hope for us".

Knight 2,

"Wait, look! It's reinforcements!".

Knight 1,

"It doesn't matter. Didn't you see how powerful that spell was? No average magician can handle that".

Knight 2,

"It isn't an average magician!".

The hopeless knight looked forward and saw the group. He saw Ritzy leading the group but Ritzy had a very covering helmet and it was a day so Ritzy's glowing eyes couldn't be seen.

Knight 1,

"What are you talking-".

The knight then noticed a dual blessed young noble right behind Ritzy. His face then glowed with excitement.

knight 1,

"It's young lord Benjamin! The dual-blessed grandson of the mighty Benedire! We're saved!".

The Reds family wasn't as known as the Benedire family. The Benedire family is a lineage of nobles who had to prove themselves to be nobles. They couldn't rely on any other family to get where they were today.

The Benedire family are most known for their countless triumphs of rising to power. That the only help the family received was becoming nobles.

Rising the ranks of nobility was something they had to do themselves.

The Reds family on the contrary aren't much know for their beginning. The only thing they're known about is being a family that produced children that had high compatibility with fire magic and that they are related to the royal family.

While the Benedire family would be known by many commoners as examples that they can also become nobles with hard work. The Reds family is just known as a prestigious noble family that is better than nobles of similar rank.

The catapult engulfed in fire began crumbling down. The fire burnt the wood and ropes slowly and surely. As the fire was turning it into ash, Ritzy's group finally arrived.

Ritzy,

"I will head for the fire magician, the rest is for you guys! Alter, lead the team against the beastkin! Benjamin, you will be prioritizing any other magicians that could appear!".

Ritzy's Knights,

"Sir!".

Benjamin,

"Understood!".

Ritzy then made his horse go at a faster pace.

The bear beastkin noticed this so he said,

"The red knight is aiming for Sobo! We can't have him get our strongest magician! Someone join me in defending Sobo".

Ritzy was going around the group instead of right through like last time so the bear beastkin and his companion moved away from the group to stop Ritzy.

Bear Beastkin,

"While I charge at the knight, aim for the horse!".

The companion was a lizard wearing cloth instead of regular metal armor like the rest of the beastkin. He also had a mana item that collected mana from the air. Though, the strange item didn't seem only to be used for collecting mana because the lizard was holding it as a knife.

Ritzy had his mana presence active so he knew what they said but he still seemed tense.

Ritzy's thoughts,

"That can't be it, could it? No, its way too expensive for a slave to have one".

The beastkin ran at a rapid pace at Ritzy while holding a long hammer, so Ritzy stopped being distracted and focused on the situation. The beastkin ten meters away from Ritzy raised his hammer and jumped in the air.

As only two meters remained from Ritzy and the bear beastkin, the lizard magician launched a spell.

Lizard Magician,

"Fēixíng de bīng zhù".

Those words released a liquid from the item and then turned into a icicle heading for Ritzy's horse. Ritzy seeing that his horse was in danger and the beastkin trying to slam him with the hammer. He saw an opportunity.

The hammer still going was about to touch Ritzy but Ritzy quickly unsheathed his straight sword from his hip and parried the hammer. Ritzy forcefully redirected the incoming hammer to where the flying icicle was headed for on his horse.

The icicle speeding through the air hit the hammer and causing it to shatter itself. Luckily the icicle was ice so exploding from the impact on the hammer didn't release ice shards but ice dust.

The beastkin still in the air lost his grip on the hammer because of the impact from the icicle. He was left armless and still in the air from jumping in front of Ritzy.

Ritzy then lifted his sword and slashed the beastkin in half. Causing one half to go one side of Ritzy and the other half to go the other side. Since Ritzy was in the middle, blood splashed onto his armor.

Ritzy's armor was red but it still had a gold outline so it was easy to tell Ritzy had blood on him.

The lizard magician was horrified by seeing his companion be cut in half so easily even though they perfectly worked together.

Lizard Beastkin,

"Help! I can't handle this knight alone!".

The fire-lizard beastkin noticed the whole scenario and knew he was the only one that could help. So instead of supporting the main group, he separated from the group and ran to help his fellow magician.

While running the red lizard said,

"I'm on my way, just hold on as long as possible!".

Ritzy's thoughts,

"Oh, it seems like my target is going for me now. With him not hiding behind his comrades and launching spells, this becomes much easier. I just need to kill the icicle magician first and then the red lizard will be the only threat left".

Ritzy continued running his horse forward, heading for the icicle spell user.

The lizard magician noticing that Ritzy wasn't slowing down panicked and said,

"Screw it! I'll just use everything the wand has! I can't hold back anymore if I want to live!".

Ritzy,

"F*ck1 It is what I thought. He has a wand!".

Wands were different from the regular mana item. Wands could store and gather mana like the rest of mana items but what set them apart was that they could be used as weapons as well. The wands were amplifiers. If a spell was conducted, the wand could easily gather much more mana and efficiently cast the spell.

The spells it could cast would be near perfection but there was a limiter on the wand. Depending on the qualities of material used on the wand, a certain level of spells could be used. Each wand had a different amount of mana it could cast at once, how much strength the spell can have, and what elements could be used.

Even though it had these restrictions, they were heavily d.e.s.i.r.ed. Though, even if a Pheonix kingdom marquess wanted a wand. They wouldn't be able to get one. Wands were very difficult to make so their price was unreachable to most nobles.

Even if they could afford the wand at market price, they wouldn't necessarily be able to buy one. Everyone wants wands but they are extremely limited, so the highest level nobles naturally try to have a monopoly on them.

In the Pheonix kingdom, one has to be at least a duke to buy a wand at market price. If someone lower wanted a wand, they would have to pay at least twice the market price if they were lucky.

Mist started rising out of the wand and around the lizard magician. The mist in the air was advanced water magic, ice.

The air could visibly turn whiter and water. Almost like the smoke that comes off dry ice.

Once the transparent mist completely surrounded the lizard magician, the lizard magician shouted,

"Bīngbáo fēngbào!".

The mist then spreaded around above in the air and slowly condensed into many ice rocks. Once the mist disappeared and it all turned into solids, they were all hurled to the approaching armored man, Ritzy.
