Chapter 51 - Returned

A magic made hailstorm headed directly for Ritzy. Ritzy seeing he was about to be drowned on an unnatural amount of ice, he unsheathed his sword and then channeled mana onto his palm.

As the hailstorm came closer and closer, Ritzy still kept channeling mana. Just as three meters separated Ritzy from the hailstorm, Ritzy extended his arm.

The mana then converted into wind magic and created a strong gust of wind. The wind was so powerful that it forcefully made the hailstorm to be launched away from Ritzy. Now going the opposite way, the hailstorm headed for the lizard magician.

Lizard magician,

"SH*T!1!".

The lizard magician raised the wand and chanted,

"Bīng qiáng!".

Ice magic gathered in front of the lizard and formed into a sturdy wall. Its thickness was the size of two fists.

The lizard sighed in relief as the hailstorm finally reached him. Thinking he was safe behind the wall, the ice wall started to crack.

Lizard Magician thought,

"Wait! What is-".

The ice-wall shattered and the hailstorm reached the lizard. The hailstorm was much more brutal than naturally formed ones. The ice rocks easily tore into the lizard's clothing and penetrated his tough skin. The ice rocks broke the lizard bones one by one and causing his organs to be punctured from the sharp shattered bones.

The ice didn't fully go through the lizard's body so it only acc.u.mulated on one side of the lizard beastkin. The beastkin was now unrecognizable.

The red lizard coming to back up the lizard magician didn't make it in time and screamed,

"You bastard! He was my friend! We're were supposed to enjoy our new freedom together!".

The red lizard finally close enough to Ritzy, he gathered fire magic again in his mouth. This time though, it was much more than last time. The mouth of the beastkin could be seen bright red and trembling. It seemed as if it would explode at any moment.

Ritzy seeing his target attack him, he started sprinting at him.

The red lizard not able to tolerate the pain any longer and Ritzy getting closer, he opened his mouth. Unlike last time, it wasn't any regular flame. The flame was a dark black.

Benjamin who was nearby finally killed his target so he decided to see how Ritzy was faring off. When looking at Ritzy, he was terrified when he saw the nearby red lizard cast black fire.

Benjamin,

"Run! He's a master flame magician! We aren't able to deal with him with! That fire not only burns but it also releases poisonous smoke! ".

Ritzy heard Benjamin and smirked,

"If that the case, I just can't be near him".

Ritzy then grabbed a knife from the small set of knives on his t.h.i.g.h and surrounded it with wind magic. Once a small white glow was able to be seen from the knife, Ritzy threw the knife.

The knife screeched through the air and went into the black fire. The next second, punctured flesh could be heard. The black fire stopped engulfing the battlefield and cleared away. With nothing blocking Ritzy's view, Ritzy saw the red lizard on the floor.

One of the nearby bow-wielding beastkin was terrified and was worried for their most powerful magician. He quickly ran up to the lizard and picked his head up gently.

Bow Beastkin,

"Shobo, where are you wounded!".

But the beastkin then noticed why the lizard stopped moving. There was a gaping hole in the back of the lizard's mouth. It couldn't have been seen since he fell on the floor.

The bow beastkin went insane with anger and stood up. He lifted his bow and readied his arrows to be shot.

Bow beastkin,

"Die you mother f*cking bastard!".

But before the beastkin could release arrows onto Ritzy, Benjamin was right behind the beastkin and chopped his head off.

Benjamin,

"Thanks, Ritzy! With the red lizard unable to help its comrades with his magic, it becomes much more easier. We were able to kill them all in a matter of minutes".

Ritzy galloped his horse back to the direction of the lizard magician while shouting,

"Alright, let's go back to Benedire and wait for our next target but wait one second before we go".

Ritzy then jumped off his horse and picked up the wand the lizard was using. He then stored the wand where he used to store the knife he threw before.

Making sure the wand wouldn't fall off, he felt assured and jumped back on the horse.

Ritzy,

"Okay, I'm ready to go now".

Arriving back at Benedire's side, Benedire was still shouting orders.

Benedire,

"Hurry and get replacements for our lost people. Take some of the farmers if you need to!".

Knight,

"Messengers, head to Lord Grasso and request for reinforcements. Tell him that we lost too much from the range division. We need any spare range fighters if possible and if not, still send people".

Two messengers bowed and then ran to their horses.

Benjamin hurriedly approached his grandfather,

"Gran-"

Benjamin coughed and then changed his tone,

"Lord Benedire, we have successfully terminated the enemy. We will await your further orders".

Benedire joyously smiled at his grandson and tried to act professional as well but still sounded like a dotting grandfather,

"Go back and rest, your job was well done so go rest. I'll call you when you're needed".

Benjamin forgot that he was supposed to act as a subordinate when his grandfather complimented him,

"Yes! Grandfather".

Ritzy wasn't paying attention to what was happening. Ritzy was busying wanting to know more about his new wand so he was walking to a nearby mage.

The mage was a black brunette girl with blue robes. She had an expensive mana item so mana naturally surrounded her.

The mage noticed Ritzy was walking to her and felt nervous. She just saw what Ritzy had done to the beastkin and she was mesmerized. She now saw Ritzy as an amazing magician and felt admiration toward Ritzy.

She quickly stepped forward and said,

"Lord Ritzy, may I help you with something?".

Ritzy,

"I want to pick your brain about something".

Mage,

"Pick my brain? What's that?".

Ritzy remembered that human anatomy wasn't on the same level as his old world and that this phrase didn't exist here.

Ritzy,

"I want to ask you something".

Mage,

"Oh, yes of course. Even though I'm a little older than you, you still hold a higher position than me so don't worry".

Ritzy,

"Okay. Well, the thing is that I wanted to know where one could buy wands".

Mage,

"Wands? Hmm, I used to say that one could buy wands here in Sporco city but it's currently overrun by beastkin. Luckily, only one wand could be provided for sale every year but it would be quickly sold once it arrived at the city so the beastkins would be lucky to find two wands in the entire city".

"So if you want a wand, you might be lucky enough to find one on a beastkin. If you aren't, then the closest places would be going to the Magrimid kingdom. They have few cities in their kingdom that sell wands so it would be your best chance to get one for yourself".

Ritzy,

"That's good to hear. So, how much would it cost to buy one?".

Mage,

"Wands are considered rare so it would cost about a minimum of 2 platinum coins. But if you want a specialty rank wand, it'll go for 20 platinum coins".

Ritzy started having a coughing fit from the Mage's words.

Ritzy's mind,

'That an inhumane amount! At most, my pouch has 25 gold coins worth from the mixture of coins and that's not even 2/10ths of the price of a rare rank wand!".

Mage,

"I almost forgot, that the market price are for Margraves and higher. But since our nobility rank doesn't count for much in their country. Your rank as a pseudo-Marquess won't be helpful. Even if Marquess is one rank higher than Margrave. So in total, it'll be at least 4 platinum coins".

Ritzy's mind,

'Thank god I'm not in the market for wands. I just want to sell my new wand'.

Ritzy,

"Thanks for information".

Mage,

"No promblem senior!".

Ritzy,

"Well, I owe you one so just call for me if you need anything".

Mage,

"Yes!".

Ritzy walked away as the mage was bowing. Once Ritzy was gone, the nearby mages quickly huddled around her.
