Next morning, Sam and Vivi ate breakfast and left towards the Diglett cave. Diglett cave is a cave dug out by Diglett and Dugtrio connecting Vermilion city to Viridian city.

They passed through the Diglett cave and reached the Viridian cuty in the afternoon. They went to the pokemon center and rented two rooms for them. Sam said that he had to do some work and left Vivi at the pokemon center and left.

He disguised himself with with mask and black cloak and blurred his appearance using psychic. He rhen went to the black market to obtain information about the current condition of the city.

When he entered the city he saw a lot of Team Rocket grunts moving in the city so to be he thought about obtaining information to better be prepared.

Sam got to know that in last few months, the activities of Team Rocket has increased significantly in the black market, mostly they are buying a lot of pokemons and there are rumors that Team Rocket grunts often attack trainers in the vicinity of Viridian city and snatch their pokemons.

Sam left the black market after inquiring some more news and then returned to the pokemon center. He greeted Vivi had lunch with her and returned to his room to analyse all the information he got from the black market.

'Looking at the activities of Team Rocket it seems that they are ready to launch some big action soon. It looks like the completion of Mewtwo has increased Giovanni's confidence a lot.'

'Tomorrow I will go early to the gym to challenge it but I have make sure that Vivi didn't come with me as it can become dangerous in the gym tomorrow.'

Meanwhile, in the ground below the Viridian gym where base of Team Rocket is present, Giovanni is looking at a report in his hand. The report was about Sam. As soon as he entered the Viridian city he was noticed by the Team Rocket as Sam is one of the most promising trainer of new generation.

Giovanni read, "Sam, original resident of Pallet town, two parents at home, Emily and Brandon. Became the assistant of Professor Oak at the tender age of five. Found about 5 new evolutions of Eevee and obtained Assistant Professor cetificate at the age of seven. Obtained primary breeder certificate at age of nine and intermediate breeder certificate at age of ten. Has obtained other seven badges with flying colours. It is said that all his pokemons are rare shiny variation. Expected to challenge the gym soon."

"Its a potential kid. Let's see if I can solicit him into joining Team Rocket otherwise just squeeze him of his secrets." Giovanni said with his usual confident smile.

Next day, Sam woke up early and went straight to the Viridian gym. Sam entered the gym and saw that the gym was shrouded in darkness, only the path to challenger's position.

He walked on the path and soon the lights in the hall turned on and he saw that only Giovanni and Sam were present in the hall.

"Welcome Sam, or should I say the Shiny Trainer, as people has started to call you." Giovanni said.

"Just call me Sam, I came to challenge you to a gym battle." Sam replied.

"What's the hurry, let's chat first." Giovanni.

"About what?" Sam.

"About the secrets you are hiding. About how you got so many shiny pokemon. Since you are assistant of Professor Oak, you should know my Identity. Even if you know, let me introduce myself. I am Giovanni, the Boss of Team Rocket, the biggest underground force of Kanto and Johto regions. I want to invite you to join the Team Rocket. I appreciate you talent so I can provide you resources so that you can grow quickly provided that you Join Team Rocket." Giovanni.

"I refuse." Sam said and thought, 'What a joke, I have Small world and system backpack, would I ever lack resources. Want me join Team Rocket, in your dreams.'
