Golden Agent of the Adonis (17)

Meanwhile, Chu Xiang stated that she would wait for a response from Chen Lifeng’s side before quieting down once again. Hearing that, the people in the company felt that she was being too passive with her actions. Perhaps she truly was in love with Chen Lifeng, seeing that she would rather suffer all alone — not willing to tear him apart even after everything he had done to her.

While a single mind alone possesses great potential, a whole collective has the ability to bring about great changes, sometimes even unknowingly.

With the news regarding Chu Xiang spreading about the company, she would eventually be seen as a foolish, infatuated girl who was stupid enough to not stand up for herself.

Scrolling through social media, Chu Xiang noticed that news about the matter had fallen slightly even among the top ten of the popular search query. Even so, there were still plenty of fans criticizing her for what happened. However, wouldn’t it be more boring if things dwindled down? In fact, she intended to add more fuel to the fire before Chen Lifeng made his decisions.

At that moment, Fang Zhenxuan just so happened to arrive back with a new laptop in hand.

“It cost about 45,000 yuan. Its specs are pretty decent too. The shop owner told me that he bought it for his own personal use and had only just received it today. He hadn’t even unboxed it yet. But after bargaining with him for a while, I managed to convince him into selling it to me.”

After looking through the specs, Chu Xiang nodded in satisfaction and said, “Good job! This will be good enough.”

At that moment, Fang Zhenxuan pushed a table over and placed down the dishes.

“The nurses said that you can eat food that is easy to digest now. Have some before continuing.”

“Alright,” Chu Xiang replied as she swept her gaze across the food on the table. She then took a glance at Fang Zhenxuan as he picked Xinxin up and felt a gentle ambiance filling the room.

In that instant, she asked, “Are you truly willing to go public with your private life? Don’t you not mind?”

Fang Zhenxuan replied, “Not mind what?”

Chu Xiang lifted the corner of her lips. “Attention from the internet. What better time than to make an appearance now? You ought to prepare yourself mentally as you might receive quite a bit of hate in the beginning. But believe me, the situation will soon take a complete turn.”

“Mhmm, I believe you.”

Fang Zhenxuan turned around and looked at her with a smile, not showing even a sliver of doubt.

Chu Xiang chuckled as she ordered with high spirits, “Little Mirror, go and take a few pictures for me. Make sure to do it without getting caught.”

The Spirit Wheel Mirror was essentially a treasure bound to her very being. Linked to her heart, the mirror could easily understand the meaning behind her words. As it hovered in the doorway, it recorded the moments of them laughing as they dined in on their food. Soon after, it floated out of the room and observed the other nurses and patients invisible.

The medical personnel in the hospital were also familiar with the recent drama as they too frequented social media. With Chu Xiang’s name and pictures showing up everywhere in the news, they were easily able to recognize her. Furthermore, with her medical records entered into the system, there would naturally be people gossiping behind her back — some even taking a picture or two.

Although they did not spread the news outside, they, as humans, could not help but act out of curiosity and begin gossiping. Drifting through the hospital like a needle in a haystack, the Spirit Wheel Mirror finally came across a nurse that was chatting on her phone with her friend. At that moment, she had just sent a photo of Chu Xiang being pushed into the emergency room.

At that time, Chu Xiang’s face appeared bleach pale. Laying unconscious on the trolley bed, she really did seem like a lifeless corpse.

Seeing that, the Spirit Wheel Mirror captured the image before quickly flying back to Chu Xiang’s side.

Upon seeing the image, Chu Xiang let out a smile as she made up an excuse to go out for a quick walk. As soon as she came back into the room, she flipped open her new laptop and swiftly began typing.  The screen of her laptop turned black for a moment before lighting back up all normal as it set up its tightly secured firewall.

With that, Chu Xiang sent the picture of her laying on the trolley bed to a journalist while claiming to be a mere passerby. Because she recognized her, she took a photo of her and wanted to break the news that Chu Xiang had nearly passed away from alcohol poisoning, only managing to be rescued after a long while. Even then, she was still lying weakly in the hospital under careful observation.

At that moment, Chu Xiang’s name was at its peak of infamy — having gotten herself into a dispute with past talent. Taking advantage of that, the journalist immediately uploaded the photos online and exaggerated by stating how Chu Xiang loved drinking alcohol. Such news spread like wildfire across other journalism sites. Seeing that, Cheng Lifeng and Zhou Yuan’s fans showed even more disgust toward Chu Xiang.

[Did she try to threaten Feng Feng with her life? How could she be so disgusting?!]

[If you really wanted to kill yourself, then why did you survive? Why don’t you just drink yourself to death at home? You’re simply looking cause a ruckus!]

[Chu Xiang has to be the most despicable mistress in history! How fucking disgusting! If she dares to guilt trip us, I’ll be the first one to beat her up!]

[That might not have been the case. Perhaps she’s the type to indulge in alcohol and go to such establishments once her life falls into shambles. In that case, it would have been only a matter of time before such a thing happened.]

[Feng Feng and Yuan Yuan must not be softhearted! That bitch deserved it!]

At that point, all their fans despised her. Even after seeing such harsh messages, they had no intentions of sympathizing with her. Besides, she was still alive, no? Even if she still wanted to commit suicide, they would only cuss at her for not doing so faster.
