Golden Agent of the Adonis (18)

Meanwhile, some individuals questioned the validity of the photos and began investigating their origins. After doing so, they found that the original IP of the photo was indeed located at a hospital. Furthermore, the photo was not edited whatsoever. In that case, Chu Xiang might actually have been on the verge of death.

At that moment, some people came to a realization. The reason why Chu Xiang did not speak out despite being criticized the whole day was that she had been admitted to the hospital. Perhaps she still did not have the ability to respond at this very time.

In spite of such speculations, the fans continued to lash out her at mercilessly. The bypassers, on the other hand, began feeling that something was amiss and felt uncomfortable reading the vicious intents behind the messages.

Upon seeing such things happening online, the manager of the PR department quickly called Chu Xiang and asked, “Are you alright? Since you’ve been working in the industry for so long now, I’m sure you know to not take the words of the public too seriously. It’s only a temporary crisis that we will soon deal with.”

In response, Chu Xiang spoke in a downcast, weak voice, “I understand. Don’t worry, I’m doing fine. By the way, has Chen Lifeng agreed to my proposal? After all, the golden time for such crises only lasts for 24 hours. Any further and I’ll be at a disadvantage. Could I trouble you to pass on this message to them? If they don’t make a decision by the early morning, the proposal will become invalid. If worst comes to worst, I’ll just go look for a new job elsewhere.”

“Alright, I’ll pass on the message for you. In the meantime, you should get some rest and take care of yourself, okay?”

In this world, people tend to sympathize with the weak. Between Chen Lifeng and Chu Xiang, the bias was slowly becoming more apparent.

Seeing those unreasonable messages online, Fang Zhenxuan said with his brows knitted, “This photo… Wasn’t this the one you had someone else upload just now? How did you find out about it?”

“I just happened to stumble upon it by chance,” Chu Xiang said with a smile as she continued typing, clearly in an elated mood that dichotomized the air around her during her previous call.

Sweeping his gaze from the harsh messages online to Chu Xiang’s smiling face, Fang Zhenxuan approached her to ask, “What’s going on here? Could my future manager enlighten me regarding this situation?”

Chu Xiang looked at him and said, “For the sake of your good looks, allow me to teach you a few things. The reason why I have not made a public statement yet was to make the fans choke at their own words. The most important thing during this phase of the drama is to let the fans vent out all their anger as much as they want, regardless of who’s the one at fault. And at some point, they will eventually get tired of doing so. Maybe then their hatred for me would have dwindled down.”

Hearing her reasoning, Fang Zhenxuan nodded his head and responded, “That makes sense. I’ve once again learned a lot from you.”

At that moment, he noticed a comment from a random passerby and showed it to Chu Xiang. “Besides, their hate messages also serve as a double-edged sword as their bottomless insults have triggered a backlash from the onlookers. Seeing your miserable appearance in the photo, there are now more people speaking up for you. Could this be a stunt used to turn your public image around?”

“Of course! The opinions of the onlookers are extremely important. If I manage to get them on my side through reasoning, I would naturally gain the advantage.”

Fang Zhenxuan chuckled, “It’s no wonder there’s a saying that says how the fans pay for their idols. That truly is the case in this situation. If I were them, I too would start hating Chen Lifeng and Zhou Yuan. I wouldn’t even need to think before having a bad impression of them.”

With that, Chu Xiang opened up her email and began downloading a folder filled with photos and videos. Looking over, Fang Zhenxuan could see that they were all photos of Chen Lifeng with women — the majority of which were taken with Chu Xiang. While some of the photos gave off the wrong impression and made it seem like they were hugging each other, most of which were simply ones of them joking around with each other. Anyone who saw those photos could tell that they were very close to one another. Heck, they could very well be mistaken for a pair of lovers.

Slightly taken aback, Fang Zhenxuan asked, “These photos… you ordered someone to take them?”

Chu Xiang stared blankly at him for a moment before responding, “Huh? What are you going on about? It’s not like I’m a hardcore narcissist. Why would I order someone to take such photos of me in secret? Anyways, these were all taken by the paparazzi over the past few years. That’s simply how things work in this industry. Regardless of the significance of the information, people are constantly looking to make money by selling such things. Since Chen Lifeng’s career was on an upwards trajectory back then, we could not afford him to be caught in such scandals. As such, I bought all these materials down.”

However, rather than deleting all those photos, Chu Xiang had previously stored them in her inbox. Having had feelings for Chen Lifeng, she certainly did not intend to use them as possible threats against him as she simply wanted to keep them as sweet memories. But now, those “sweet” memories were now being used as a sharp dagger against Chen Lifeng.
