Rewarding Bad Luck

Gabriel opened his eyes and looked at his surroundings to see only a calendar left in the room. He got up from the hospital bed and looked out the window as a large glowing sphere slowly rose from the horizon, it casted a wonderful beam of sunlight in every direction. He felt the summer sunlight bringing warmth onto his skin.

He walked up to the calendar and saw that it was 2018. In surprise, he asked the system for confirmation.

"System, did two years really go by?"

[Indeed it has, your body needed to heal in a humanily function as you received Greater Healing whilst in astral projection, so the effects had not applied until being awoken.]

Gabriel walked to the main desk of the hospital and saw the hospital staff staring at him in shock. He walked by a mirror and his face had been given a complete makeover. Gabriel touched his chiseled chin and smiled at the mirror with his dimples digging into his cheeks.

After checking himself out, he spoke to the nurse and he asked.

"Hi madam, could I check myself out of the hospital?"

The nurse was still staring at his face and was genuinely intrigued by the awoken sleeping prince. After Gabriel stuck his hand in front of her eyes and waved, she woke up from daydreaming.

"Ahem, I'm sorry but we can't as you aren't over 18, so you're legal guardian will have to come. We will call your legal guardian now and after a few tests, you'll be on your way."

Gabriel pondered on his reply and gave a firm reply and he realised that his voice had gotten crisper and deeper. He said in a masculine voice.

"Okay, might I bother to ask, who is my legal guardian?"

The nurse changed her expressions thinking the boy had amnesia, maybe she could slide her way into his life and have beautiful- children.

"Ahem, it's Diana from the orphanage. Also, your friend Aden has been visiting you every day until a couple months ago. He got into an accident and his father is in jail."

Gabriel clenched his hand as a manifestation of extreme anger was displayed on his face and an aura of imperialism began to ooze from his body as he walked back to his hospital room.

He asked the system.

"System, can I get some clothes?"

[I apologize user, but we only have a Mission Board and Lottery System enabled for you. But you have Greater Luck, so what you need the most may just come up from a spin in the Lottery System.]

Gabriel took a brief moment of time to think about his thought of train and concluded that using a ticket to hopefully getting some clothes was worth the try.

Gabriel seemed too angry to be in awe of his good luck and instanteously thought of wearing the outfit. The clothes was placed onto his body and Gabriel ran to the first floor and lifted the windows in a random patient's room. He jumped out and escaped.

"Aden should be at his home, that will be the first place to go."

Gabriel sprinted without stopping to Aden's house, just to see the windows of the house boarded up. He knocked on the big wooden doors and no one opened it. Frustrated from not being answered he shouted at the top of his lungs.

"ADEN, OPEN THE DOOR!"

The door began to creak open and he saw a young man in a wheelchair. Tears rolled down from the eyes of Gabriel's and onto his cheeks, as he saw his best friend in a wheelchair. The protective best friend who would always make sure he was alright and tried to include him into every social activity was in a wheelchair.

Aden strolled over with two dark as night bags under his cold icy eyes and he inspected the random man knocking at his door, he asked with annoyance lingering in his voice.

"Who are you? And how do you know me?"

"A-A-Aden... It's me, Gabriel!"

Aden was in shock but then his eyes began to water as his best friend awoke from what was a long-term coma. Aden rubbed his eyes as this handsome man in front of him looked a little like Gabriel and Aden thought.

"Maybe he went through puberty while I didn't visit him the past couple of months."

To test the man, Aden stuck his fist out at Gabriel and Gabriel brought his fist out to meet him and immediately slapped the fist.

"It really is you, Gabriel!"

After a brief moment of talking, Aden invited Gabriel into the house.

"What happened to you, Aden?"

"You remember the group of teens that had a video of your b.u.t.t while you were stuck in a fence, they sent a video to their older cousins and they uploaded it to twitter. After it got a couple million views, I got my dad to send officers to arrest them for cyber bullying. Little did I know, one of them was mentally unstable and he drove a car into me while I walked to school. My legs... All of my lower body... I can't feel it anymore."

Aden shuddered and cry.

[Mission Board: Heal Aden]

Gabriel smiled as he could heal Aden's leg and restore functionality. He spoke to Aden with a reassuring voice.

"Aden, I can help you, just please don't move."

Gabriel began to think of Greater Healing and a glowing green aura surrounded his hands as he channeled onto Aden's kneecap. The glowing green aura started to flow through his veins and Aden's whole body began to glow, the shattered bones, ligaments and muscles were created anew and stronger than ever.

"Gabriel, my whole body is glowing green and it tingles! Why do you know how to channel your chi?!"

Gabriel in surprise dismissed Aden's crazy talk.

"What are you talking about? Anyways, stand up."

Aden used his arms as support to push himself up. He seemed like a baby who just learnt how to walk and was stumbling, eventually he took a few steps and began to run. In awe, he shouted.

"Gabriel, you fixed my legs! Thank you so much. Thank you so much Gabriel, words cannot describe how I felt stuck in a wheelchair."
