Rise Of House Cason

Chapter 27 - Fight and the Unicorn

After the troll incident, Art noticed that Harry, Ron and Hermione started hanging out more. Rumors spread around the school about Art and the twins on how they beat the troll, some even said that they killed it. When asked, Art and the twins didn't answer and just smiled when asked. Fred and George being animagus was found out by the three but they assured Art that their lips were sealed.

Dumbledore was teaching Art about more complex wards this year, challenging him. Dumbledore also said that Newt told him that he was very impressed with Art's talent.

"Why did you send me there?" Art asked, looking at Dumbledore his face serious.

Dumbledore looked at him from behind his half-moon spectacles. "What do you mean Art?"

"Though I was very thankful of learning from Newt. I know it was for a reason." Art said, looking at Dumbledore.

Tapping his desk, Dumbledore didn't speak for awhile. "I trust Newt for being a better judge of character than me. I wanted to see what he thought of you."

Art's eyes went cold. "You wanted to see if I was going dark."

A flash of guilt went through Dumbledore's eyes. "It was-"

"I am not going to be a dark wizard!" Art yelled, standing swiftly, his chair fell to the floor. "I am not the only one who wants revenge to what happened to their family! Neville Longbottom! You don't think he would kill the Death Eaters who tortured his parents into insanity! Susan Bones! Harry Potter! The Weasleys! They all wouldn't blink to exact revenge! Why am I the one you are worried about!"

Art was fuming, tiny sparks could be seen dancing across his fingers. He paced back and forth, his eyes shining brightly.

"They don't have your talent or ability. They can't send the wizarding world into another war." Dumbledore said calmly, which infuriated Art more.

"My talent!? So if I was an average wizard you wouldn't care?" Art laughed a little crazy.

"I have seen two great wizards turn dark and I blame myself because I didn't act when I could." Dumbledore said.

"Oh f.u.c.k you! You knew Grindelwald was evil early but you refused to believe it or see it! He was expelled from Durmstrang for merlin sakes! A school known for its dark magic! That was your mistake!" Art almost screamed at him, he read about Grindelwald.

"That's not the whole story…" Dumbledore said quietly.

"I don't give a shit. And Voldemort? We both know he was dark way before he left this school. Even after he left and became 'Lord Voldemort' you could have destroyed him but you didn't. The great Dumbledore… a coward." Art spat viciously.

"Mistakes were made Artland." Dumbledore said quietly.

"So you are afraid of making the same mistakes? Going to strangle me in the crib so another Dark Lord doesn't emerge." Art laughed darkly. "Kill the threat before it can become a threat."

"You're not a threat Art. Newt assured me." Dumbledore said.

"Mrs. Scamander is what assured you, not me?" Art asked, his anger not dying down. "I do everything right! I take extra classes! I tell you what I am doing! But you need his approval!? What more do I have to do!?"

Dumbledore was about to answer but Art interrupted him. "You know what? I don't care anymore." Art said, he then walked out of Dumbledore's office.

Dumbledore looked down at his desk, a sad look on his face. He looked at the pensive in the corner of his office and walked to it. He gently put the wand to his temple and pulled out a silvery thread and put it in the pensive.

Art was still filled with anger and ran out of the castle, as soon as he was away from the castle he shifted and ran as fast as he could. He was a brown blur, only a trail of dust and leaves. Soon he found himself at the edge of the Forest. He only hesitated for a split second before running into it. Finally he was out of breath, he stopped and looked around. The forest was dark with barely any light hitting the ground. It was quiet as well, too quiet and Art's senses started to kick in and he felt danger. Suddenly a flash of white passed by Art with a trail of silver liquid trailing it.

'A wounded Unicorn.' Art thought, taking off after it.

Art followed it and saw it laying down, panting and bleeding. Art shifted back and slowly approached it, sending calming thoughts at it. "It's alright, I'm going to heal you. Nothing bad is going to happen." Art soothed.

The Unicorn looked at Art with terror, trying to crawl away farther. He finally touch the unicorn's side and the terror slowly melted from its eyes.

"See, it's okay. I'm here to help." Art soothed, stroking its side.

The unicorn whinnied a little and laid its head down, clearly exhausted. Art took out his wand and started to heal the wound.

'It looks like something was s.u.c.k.i.n.g its blood.' Art thought, looking closer at the wound.

Suddenly the unicorn cried violently and started to struggle. Art warning from his Thunderbird senses, he turned around and saw a cloaked figure. Danger bells were going off in Art's head and he felt the thing across from his was dangerous. The cloaked thing stood still and didn't move. Art put his wand up and felt a wave of calm wash over his body.

He was waiting for the cloaked thing to make the first move.

"Move…" a raspy voice came from the cloaked thing.

"No, I won't let you harm this unicorn." Artland said, his voice steady.

The thing stood there for a second before giving a low hiss before melting back into the shadows. Art kept his wand raised, not letting his guard down. After he felt like the cloaked thing left he lowered his wand and went back to the unicorn. He made a magical stretcher and carried the unicorn towards Hagrid's hut. He kept his head on a swivel and kept looking over his shoulder. Finally he made it to Hagrid's hut and called out.

"Hagrid! Hagrid get out here!"

Art heard Fang barking as Hagrid stumbled out of his hut.

"Art? What are you doing here?"

"She injured Hagrid. Go get Dumbledore and bring me these ingredients." Art then listened ingredients for a Blood Replenishing Potion. Hagrid nodded his head and rushed towards the castle while Art tended to the unicorn.

"I'm going to close the wound now, b.a.r.e with me." Art spoke to the unicorn, waving his wand over the wound. It slowly knitted close as the unicorn cried out in pain.

"Its over, good job." Art stroked its head.

The unicorn slowly closed its eyes, laying its head down on the ground. Soon Hagrid returned with Dumbledore and Snape.

"What happened Art?" Dumbledore asked.

Art ignored him and grabbed the ingredients from Hagrid. He quickly mixed the ingredients and made a fire with his wand. Stirring the potion he finished it and slowly poured it into the unicorns mouth.

"It will take a bit to work because of the unicorn's blood had special properties in it." Dumbledore said.

"I know." Art said, not taking his eyes off the unicorn.

"What happened Art?" Dumbledore asked, his voice a little sterner.

"Someone attacked the unicorn. They were s.u.c.k.i.n.g its blood." Art said, remembering the silver blood on the cloaked man's lips.

Hagrid took an audible gasp as he looked at Dumbledore. Snape's brows knitted together and looked deeply at the unicorn.

"Come back to the castle Art." Dumbledore said, putting his hand on Art's shoulder.

Art shrugged it off, "I will stay with the unicorn until it wakes up."

"Hagrid can take care-"

"I'm not leaving her." Art said, his tone left no room for debate.

"It's okay Headmaster, I will stay with him and guide him back when it's time." Hagrid offered.

Dumbledore looked at Art and nodded his head, bringing Snape with him back to the castle.

Art sat with the unicorn as Hagrid brought him a cup of tea. They sat in silence as they waited for the unicorn to wake up.
