Rise Of House Cason

Chapter 35 - A Kiss

Once they left the house Fleur apologized to Art. "I'm sorry Art. Jack is an arrogant brat that always gets what he wants. He has been pursuing me now for a while and even his parents are trying to get mine in agreeing to a marriage." she said angrily.

"Are they going to agree?" Art asked, slightly worried.

"Of course not." she scoffed.

"Good." he said relieved.

"Art who snake is that?" Gabrielle asked looking at Azura on his wrist.

"This is Azura. Mr. Scamander is letting me take care of her. Say hi Azura." Art said, showing the girls the tiny black snake.

The snake looked at them before slithering to Art's shoulder where she let out a low hiss.

"She is so cute!" Gabrielle gushed, her eyes sparkling.

"Her eyes are beautiful." Fleur muttered, looking at Azura.

"She is still a baby."

Soon Jack walked out of the house and saw them. Walking up to them he had an angry look on his face.

"You dare turn down my father's offer? Do you have any idea who he is?" Jack said, seething.

Art ignored him and walked over to the unicorn.

"Hmph idiot. The unicorn will attack him." he sneered.

"You're an idiot." Gabrielle said fiercely.

Art approached the unicorn who welcomed his touch. Art suddenly jumped on the unicorn's back and rode it over to the group. Fleur smiled and stroked the unicorn's head while Gabrielle gave Jack a 'told you' look.

"Something is wrong with this unicorn." he said, reaching out at the unicorn.

The unicorn instantly reared up and tried kicking Jack who fell backwards in fear. Jumping off, Art calmed the unicorn down and looked at Jack who was covered in dirt.

"You're arrogance is going to get you killed." he scolded while he comforted the unicorn.

Scorned and embarrassed in front of Fleur was the limit that Jack could handle. Whipping out his wand, he sent a curse at the unicorn.

"Stupid beast!"

Art quickly created a shield with wandless magic, sending the curse back at Jack who was his squarely in the c.h.e.s.t.

A terrible scream came from his throat as he grabbed his c.h.e.s.t and rolled on the ground. Soon the a.d.u.l.ts came out hearing the screams. Jack's parents surrounded him.

"What happened!?" Hank asked.

"HE ATTACKED ME!" Jack yelled, pointing at Artland.

Art rolled his eyes and ignored him, he told the unicorn to leave before something happened.

Hank's face darkened as he stood up and glared at Art. "You dare attack my son?"

"I didn't attack him. He attacked the unicorn, I simply reflected the spell." Art said mockingly.

"You piece of filth!" he spat viciously, pulling out his wand.

Before Mr. and Mrs. Delacour could stop Hank, he was sent flying by a bolt of lightning. Stunned they looked at Art whose hand was sparking with electricity.

"I don't like being threatened or being called names. I have ignored you insults and threats until now but I am fed up with them." Art said dangerously calm.

Hank stood up quickly, his c.h.e.s.t rapidly rising with anger.

Art stood across from him and lifted both his hands, lightning danced across them, threatening to attack.

"You sure you want to do that?" Art asked, a mocking smile on his face.

Seeing the lightning in Art's hands, Hank gave him a final glare before putting his wand away and leaving, bringing his family with him.

Art dropped his hands to his sides, the lightning disappearing. "Sorry for the trouble I caused Mr. and Mrs. Delacour." Art said sincerely.

"Not a problem Art. They were overstaying their welcome anyway." Apolline said, giving him a smile. Her smile turned serious as he looked at Art's hands. "Was the wandless magic Art?"

Art nodded, he waved his hand and a small fire ball appeared. "Couple tricks I learned from Professor Dumbledore." he said.

"You are learning from Dumbledore?" they asked in shock.

"Just a couple hours a week."

They were shocked to find out that Dumbledore was teaching Art. The rest of the day passed without incident as they talked about school and other things.

"You excited to start school Gabrielle?" Art asked the small girl.

She nodded her head excitedly, "Yes! I can't wait to start magic!"

Art smiled and created a tiny fireball in his hand. "Magic is incredible, just make sure you practice hard." he said, making the fire disappear.

Gabrielle's eyes went wide as she looked at Art with admiration. She looked at Fleur with an expectant gaze, "Can you do that Fleur?"

Fleur flushed in embarrassment, "Art's a freak, who can do what he can."

Art laughed and gave her a nudge, "You are a great witch."

"Can you do anything else Art?" Gabrielle asked.

Art thought for a second before standing up and shifting into a Wampus. Fleur and Gabrielle were shocked and looked at Art in horror.

He shifted back and laughed, "It me girls, I am an animagus."

"That was amazing Art! Do it again!" Gabrielle cried, clapping her hands.

Art entertained her and shifted again, this time Gabrielle approached him and rubbed his head, playing with his whiskers. Fleur slowly approached him, running her hand through his fur. Art felt like electricity was running down his spine at her touch. He shifted back, surprising the girls.

"It is still me girls, not a cat." Art said, giving them a look.

They both blushed and avoided his eyes. Art rolled his eyes, ignoring them. Art spent the day with them and ate supper with them. When the light faded he left.

Sitting on a large couch with her husband, Apolline said, "Art is stronger than I thought."

Guy, her husband nodded, "Though you could feel how strong his magic is, I never would have guessed his control over them."

Apolline took a sip from her wine, "If Dumbledore is teaching him that means the child has greater talent than what we thought."

"Gabrielle let it slip that he is an animagus as well." Guy said looking at his wife.

Apolline smiled, "Well it only stands to reason that our Fleur would pick a man of his caliber. Much better than that Jack you thought would be a good match." she said, giving him an annoyed look.

Guy shook his head, "I only said he was talented and comes from a good family, I wasn't trying to set them up." he defended himself. "He also has a Horned Serpent as a pet."

"Fleur told me he learns from Newt Scamander during his summer vacations. He must have got the snake from him." Apolline said, remembering what Fleur had told her.

Art spent the majority of his time at the Delacours during the month. He spent time with Gabrielle and Fleur, talking about magic or beasts, riding brooms or exploring. He ate supper with them many times, getting to know the parents better.

On the last day of his vacation he said his goodbyes to the Delacours.

"Thank you for putting up with me this summer Mr. and Mrs. Delacour." Art said politely.

"Come back anytime." Apolline said, giving his a hug.

Mr. Delacour shook his hand and gave him a smile. "Have a good school year Art and make sure to come back next summer."

The parents left and left the girls and Art alone. Gabrielle hugged him tightly and Art rubbed her head. "Make sure you pay attention in school. Don't listen to any boys, they are all bad."

Gabrielle rolled her eyes and left, shooting Fleur a look. Fleur stood there looking at the ground, her face red. Art smiled and grabbed her hand and pulled her into his arms for a hug.

"I will miss you." he said quietly.

Fleur didn't say anything but just nodded gently. Art gave her a kiss on her cheek and let her out of his arms but held her hands still. She took a step closer to Art and stood on her tiptoes, giving him a peck on the lips. She turned and ran, her face red as an apple.

Art stood there looking like an idiot, he slowly touched his lips, a smile forming on his face.
