Rise Of House Cason

Chapter 36 - Malfoy

Art was soon back home in England with is parents. His time with Fleur and the Delacours had come to an end causing him to miss her. Art, Tim and Bella were heading into London to get his school supplies from Diagon Alley. He had received a letter from the twins that they were going today and Art decided to meet them there.

Pulling up the Leaky Cauldron, Art guided his parents through the pub and into the back where he took out his wand and tapped a certain brick, creating a hole. Entering the hole, Art and the Sullivans were welcomed by the liveliness of Diagon Alley.

"I've missed this place." Art said, taking a deep breath with a smile. He lead his parents around, buying them some wizard treats like Chocolate Frogs and such. He then found the Weasleys and a slightly dirty Harry who Hagrid was with.

"Found him in Knockturn Alley." Hagrid said, dusting Harry off and nearly knocking over.

The Weasleys thanked Hagrid and made sure Harry was alright.

"Art!" Fred yelled, seeing Art walking towards them. George soon followed him and both gave Art a hearty slap on the back.

"Causing trouble again I see." Art smirked, "Mom, Dad, this is Fred and George Weasley. My friend from Hogwarts."

Fred and George became very respectful as they exchanged greetings with Art's parents. Bella could see the mischievous light in these boys eyes and wondered how her serious son became friends with them.

Soon the rest of the Weasleys and Harry came over. After lots of introductions and pleasantries exchanged, they headed over to Flourish and Botts to buy their school books. They met Hermione and her parents there, thankfully they were Muggles so Bella and Tim were able to talk to them freely.

Art knew the Weasley's didn't have lots of money and raising as many children as they do would put a strain on their finances but when he saw Ginny's second hand books and robes he felt pain in his heart.

In Flourish and Botts was packed, causing Art to be annoyed. Gilderoy Lockheart was signing books causing numerous witches to come and meet him. Art had never read his books and didn't plan to either, even though the books were on the supplies list. Art heard a commotion as he saw Harry being dragged by Lockheart for a picture. Scowling, he went over and grabbed Harry but it was too late as the picture was already taken.

Harry went over and gave Ginny a new set of Lockhart's to her when a cold voice rang out.

"Bet you loved that, didn't you, Potter?"

Art saw a familiar blonde boy who was called Draco Malfoy. He was responsible for calling muggleborns slurs and other foul language. Art ignored them, dismissing it as children fighting. He went and stood by his parents who were talking to Mr. and Mrs. Granger. It seems the argument got worse as Mr. Weasley and the twins had now made their way over.

"Well, well, well- Arthur Weasley."

Mr. Malfoy had appeared now, resting his hand on his son's shoulder.

"Lucius," said Mr. Weasley, nodding coldly.

"Busy time at the Ministry, I hear," said Lucius. "All those raids… I hope they're paying you overtime?"

He then reached down and grabbed at battered book from Ginny's arms.

"Obviously not," he said. "Dear me, what's the use of being disgraced to the name of wizard if they don't even pay you well for it?"

Money was Mr. Weasley's sore spot as Art could see his body tense up.

"We have very different ideas of what disgraces the name of wizard, Malfoy." Mr. Weasley said coldly.

"Clearly." Lucius said, his eyes wandered over to the Grangers and Sullivans, causing his lip to curl in disgust. Seeing his face Art felt white hot anger boiling in his gut. "Muggles, how far has the wizard world fallen." shaking his head in disgust.

By now Tim and Bella noticed something wrong and saw Malfoy's look. Tim was something to say something when Art grabbed his arm, "Don't, I will handle this."

Tim nodded his head and took a step back, his eyes not leaving Malfoy.

"Mr. Malfoy, you have a problem with muggles?" Art said loudly, bringing the focus of the room to him. A dangerous smile danced across his lips which caused the twins to shiver, knowing the look.

Art walked out in front of his parents and slowly approached where Mr. Weasley and Lucius were standing.

Lucius eyes narrowed when he looked at Art before a sneer appeared on his face, "Problem or not, what is it to you?"

Artland stuck his hand out, "Artland Cason, p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to meet you." he introduced himself, a fake smile on his face.

Hearing Art's name, Malfoy's face went from shock to a sneer. "Associating with these kinds of people… how the Cason house has fallen." he said, faking sadness and reached out for Art's hand. "Hardly your fault though. Parents never raised you properly."

Art's eyes went cold but the smile on his face stayed. He applied pressure to Malfoy's hand causing his face to pale.

"Someone like you doesn't deserve to mention my parents, you hear me?" Art said dangerously low, still applying pressure.

Malfoy didn't say anything as he tried not to cry out in pain, sweat beaded up on his forehead.

"Those muggles you find so disgusting are my parents. Look at them like then again and I might become unfriendly." Art said, letting go of Malfoy's hand and turning around.

Malfoy massaged his hand glaring at Art, he went for his wand but Mr. Weasley already had his out, ready to act. Malfoy soon left the store with his son, but not before returning Ginny her worn out book.

Fred punched Art in the shoulder, "Tough guy act, Art? Not your style." he said, laughing.

Art rolled his eyes and went over to his parents. "If you would have attacked him he could have killed you without a slap on the wrist. You have to be careful." Art said, warning Tim. If a powerful house like Malfoy killed muggles, they could bribe their way out of it.

Tim nodded his head understanding, "But you made an enemy, is that safe for you?" he asked.

Art laughed, "You might not know this but I am considered a powerful wizard, even among a.d.u.l.ts. Plus I am still a student and have my family name to rely on."

Hearing this Tim visibly relaxed. They had finished shopping and said goodbye to the Weasleys and Grangers. Art was in the backseat of the car, reading a new book he bought about creating personal spells. Tim watched him in the rear view mirror and a smile appeared on his face. Bella reached over and grabbed his hand, a bright smile on her face too.

The next couple of days went by quickly as Art read his new books thoroughly. He would be entering his fourth year of Hogwarts now, one more year from his OWLS and three years from his NEWTS. Art was tossing the idea around if his should take his OWLS this year, allowing him to prepare for his NEWTS more. He also wanted to take his Masters from the ICW after he graduated.
