Rise Of House Cason

Chapter 49 - The Dementor

The summer continued to pass by as the days got shorter. Art and Fleur spent more time together than before and their talks became longer and the kisses sweeter. Strange emotions awoke when he spent time with Fleur and it wasn't just the s.e.x.u.a.l urges but the need to protect her from any harm.

The sun was setting as Art gently kissed Fleur before putting his forehead to hers.

"You leave tomorrow." she said with a sad smile, her hands around his neck.

Art gently nodded and pulled her waist towards him bringing her in for another kiss. "I have a gift for you." he said after their lips parted. "So you remember me when all those boys are chasing after you."

Reaching into his pocket he pulled out a silver necklace with a beautiful black scale on it.

"It's one of Azura's scales. If you tap it twice it will allow you to go invisible for a brief amount of time." Art said, placing the necklace in her hand.

Fleur looked at the necklace in her hand and a beautiful smile bloomed on her face. She gave Art a kiss before turning around. "Can you put it on please."

Art nodded and fumbled with the clasp as Fleur pulled her hair to the side and exposed her fair neck. He put the necklace on and gently kissed her neck causing her to shiver.

"That is not nice." she said with a red face, pushing him away.

"You're right. I'm sorry." Art smiled and pulled her into his arms again.

The sun was slowly setting and Art and Fleur separated. Walking into the house Art was met by Tim who was sitting at the table by himself.

"Why are you still up dad?" Art said, sitting down next to him.

"Your mother was worried that you would try and sneak Fleur into the house to… well let's just say she was worried." Tim said with an awkward smile.

Art gave an awkward laugh. "And you were suppose to stop me?"

"That or give you a c.o.n.d.o.m. Not sure what is worse."

Art went red with embarrassment.

Tim stood up and patted his shoulder and said, "Goodnight son."

"Goodnight dad."

Art made his way to bed and fell asleep easily, a smile on his face. The next morning was a sad one as Art packed his bag and brought it down to the lobby with his parents. To his surprise he saw Fleur and Gabrielle standing there.

"We came by to say goodbye." Fleur said with a smile.

Art hugged her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you Fleur. Don't forget me and leave for some stuck up bastard, okay?"

"Yeah right. Who could forget your big head?" she said, rolling her eyes smiling.

"And you." Art said facing Gabrielle. "You better be the best in your class this year again and don't forget… boys are dumb."

"Yes they are. All boys are dumb." she said nodding her head.

"Yes they are." Art laughed rubbing her head.

Fleur handed him a photo. Looking down her saw Fleur standing there waving at him with a smile before turning red and looking away.

"Don't forget me either okay?"

"Impossible. My Fleur is the prettiest girl I know." Art teased.

"Okay love birds enough." Gabrielle said rolling her eyes.

Giving her a final hug, he loaded his bags into the vehicle and got into it. He waved as he watched Fleur and Gabrielle waved at him.

"You will see her again Art, don't worry." Bella comforted him.

"I know. Not for another 10 months." he said a little depressed.

Tim smiled but didn't say anything. He was happy to see his son fall in love and with such a good woman like Fleur. "It doesn't matter. If it is meant to be, it will be."

With that said they made their way back to London. Art moped around for a bit before throwing himself back into his studies. He went to Diagon Alley and placed the 600,000 Galleons in his vault at Gringotts, making his already mound of gold even larger. He also read that Sirius Black hadn't been captured and was still at large. Art bought many things is Diagon Alley including many high level books, gifts for his parents and healing products from the Healer Shop. He also took a trip to Knockturn Alley but didn't find anything useful.

Buying everything he needed, he packed his bag for another year at Hogwarts. Going downstairs he found Gray standing at the table with a few letters in his talons.

"Art get your bird off the kitchen table!" Bella yelled, giving the bird a glare.

Art quickly scooped up Gray and took him outside, grabbing the letters from him. The letters were from Cedric, the twins, and Susan. The twins were getting back from Egypt and it sounded like they had a good time visiting their brother and touring the pyramids. Cedric asked Art if he heard about Sirius Black and told him not to do anything stupid which caused Art to shake his head. Susan's letter was a little happier, asking Art about new games and what he did this summer.

Art was starting his 5th year which meant OWLs exams that would dictate his future. He wasn't worried about exams themselves but what he should do in the future. He didn't want to join the Ministry straight out of Hogwarts and thought about traveling.

'Maybe Fleur will join me and travel.'

He pushed it to the back of his head and laid down in his bed, getting a good sleep before heading back to Hogwarts tomorrow.

The next day Tim and Bella drove him the King's Station and gave him a big hug before he disappeared into Platform 9 ¾. Seeing the red train, he smiled and tried to find Cedric and the twins. He saw Harry and Ron and waved at them before walking towards the twins.

"Heya Art!" the said in unison.

"How was your vacation?" he asked.

"Great. Those ancient warlocks were crazy though. Cursing every inch of their tombs and what not. Terrifying curses to." Fred said shivering.

George nodded his head. "Let's get onboard. I don't want to share a compartment with anyone."

They soon found Cedric and boarded the Hogwarts Express. They found a compartment and put their luggage away before talking about their summers. The twins summer was by far more interesting as they traveled to Egypt.

When Art told them he went to France Cedric had a sly smile on his face. "Did you see your girlfriend?"

The twins looked shocked and began to bombard him with questions.

"You have a girlfriend and didn't tell us?"

"Who is she?"

"Is she pretty?"

"Have you snugged?"

"Enough you two." Art said rubbing his head.

The twins looked at him, expecting answers.

Taking a deep breath, Art said, "Her name is Fleur Delacour and goes to Beauxbatons."

The twins continued to stare at him, "And?"

"And what?"

"Come on man. Details, details."

"She is part Veela so she is very pretty. She is also very smart and is kind."

"Veela? She must be a stunner." Fred looked at Art with approval, giving him a thumbs up.

Art rolled his eyes and ignored him. Suddenly the train started to slow down before lurching to a stop.

Cedric frowned, "It is too early for us to be at Hogwarts already."

"Did it get colder in here?" Fred asked rubbing his arms.

Art's eyes narrowed and quietly muttered, "Get your wands out."

The twins and Cedric responded instantly and pulled their wands out. They could see their breaths now. A dark shadow could be seen through the glass as the door slowly opened.

The twins and Cedric's face paled as they started to feel their positive emotions leave their bodies.

"It's a Dementor! Use your Patronuses!" Art yelled trying to get them to snap out of it.

It proved ineffective and Art casted his own patronus. A large Thunderbird appeared and chased the Dementor down, sending it and the others running from the Thunderbird.
