Having become somewhat of a celebrity Ron received letters from fans who'd watched his performance in the I.P.B.C U-12. After reading the first few he plainly ignored the stack of letters that came addressed to him. So it came as a surprise when he was heading downstairs for breakfast and saw Daphne sitting down in the living room and speaking with his mother.

"Oh, yes and don't get me started on his hair colour, awful just-"

"Good Morning!"

Hearing his mother poking fun at his hair, Ron decided to raise his voice and give her a fright. His mom quickly turned around and when she saw that he was the one that yelled sent a book flying towards him.

"Wow! That almost hit me."

"Ron, you almost gave me a heart attack! Don't sneak up on people!"

"*You were just talking about me behind my back and I'm the one that gets in trouble?*"

Ron welcomed Daphne and asked her why she came to his house, as far as he knew they wouldn't see each other until the school year began.

"You didn't get my letter? I told you that I wanted to talk about... That."

There was only one thing that Ron knew about that Daphne would refer to as "That" so he told her to wait while he told his mother. Who was still sitting right next to them and had become very curious as to what "That" was.

"Mom, can I go to Daphne's house? I should be back by dinner. It's important."

When he said the last sentence, Ron made sure to place more emphasis on it, to let his mom know that he couldn't tell her why, at least not right now. His mom glanced at Daphne who quickly turned away before she nodded and Accio'd the Floo powder before handing it over to him.

"Be careful and Ron make sure to come back by dinner, alright?"

"Yeah, I got it. C'mon let's go."

Daphne went first and vanished, Ron tried to reassure his mom before being engulfed in green flames.

"Huh? Did someone leave?"

Right as Ron and Daphne left a groggy Ginny was walking down the stairs in her pajamas.

-

When Ron walked out of the Greengrass's chimney Daphne was nervously waiting for him. She lead him upstairs into a girl's bedroom where a young girl was soundly sleeping. Ron took the girl's hand and checked her pulse before nodding at Daphne who was behind him.

Ron placed the girl's hand back down before walking outside quickly followed by Daphne.

"So is there anything that you can do for her?"

"I'm sorry Daphne I don't know much about Blood Curses, but my older brother Bill is a Curse Breaker for Gringotts. I'll send him a letter, to see if he knows anything."

Feeling distraught the girl lost her balance and was about to fall before Ron caught her in a hug. He tried to calm her down by slowly and gently patting her back, but as he continued to do so, she could no longer contain her emotions and began to cry, seeing her in that state a pained expression covered Ron's face.

"Don't Worry Daphne, although I can't help Astoria right now, that doesn't mean I won't be able to in the future. Just make sure that she doesn't strain herself and I'll try to find a temporary solution."

If anyone else had said those words to her, she'd have a hard time believing their sincerity but seeing Ron's hurt appearance she knew that he meant every word so she hugged him deeply.

"Thank you..."

-

Leaving the Greengrass Manor, Ron went to Diagon Alley or more specific Gringotts. He'd amassed quite the fortune in the Muggle World and would regularly exchange the money in smaller quantities to avoid any unnecessary questions.

The good thing about the Goblins is that they knew how to keep secrets, and would rarely ever speak of matters pertaining to money. Throw in a few extra Galleons and they'd never seen you before, the reason he'd come to get some money for a trip he was going on.

He was going to visit his aunt (Once Removed)Lucretia Prewett (née Black) who was one of the last few members of the Black Family alive.

He'd come to know of her a few weeks ago when her nurse sent his mother a letter stating that Lucretia's health was declining and she that she didn't have much more time to live.

Her mother was never close with the woman and was simply going to send her some flowers, to which he offered to spend the year with her.

He was sure to add how he felt sorry for the old woman and how tragic it was to be left alone on her death bed. Hearing his words his parents felt guilty with just sending flowers and agreed to his request but cited that she lived far away in Russia. So he had to think his decision through, because it wouldn't be easy for him to come back so soon.

He confidently reaffirmed his decision, and come to Gringotts to exchange his British Pounds into Kusokzolta the Russian Wizarding Currency. He didn't know the exchange rate but thought that 10k would be enough, but when the Goblin gave him 780,000 Kusokzolta he didn't ask questions and took the money.

He was going to use a Portkey that would send him to the Russian Ministry of Magic, since he was going alone his parents gave him a letter of introduction with their signatures and the seal of the British Ministry.

His father was going with him to the Ministry, since the International Portkeys were in the Ministry's Department of Magical Transportation.

Since all of his brothers were away, he was being sent off by Ginny and his mother, who chose not go to with them to the Ministry. That surprised Ron since he thought she'd want to see him off, but seeing as she was in verge of tears he didn't push it and hugged her goodbye.

"I'll be fine mom, I'll write you as soon as I get to aunt Lucretia's house."

"You better, if not for your father talking me into this I'd never let you go to some unknown country without me. You better not cause trouble and write me as frequently as you can alright!?"

As she said that she hugged him tighter until he felt he couldn't breathe, finally separating from her he also hugged his little sister before entering the chimney.

"Atrium!"

-

The Department of Magical Transportation was on the 6th level so after they got passed the guard they went by lift. The place wasn't big and looked quite dull compared to the Atrium, they were told to enter an office and after a worker talked to his father he was told to head to a separate room.

Prior to entering the room his father took Ron to the side wanting to have a proper conversation before he left.

"Ron, I know that you're brilliant and even a genius but I want you to know, that if you ever need anything your mother and I will always be there for you. So if you feel home sick or for whatever other reason you want to come back, we'll be here."

His dad had always treated him a bit different and Ron never knew if it was because of the talent he'd shown or because his dad was just that nice. Now hearing his words he was sure that he just wanted him to be happy in whatever he did.

"Thanks dad..."

"Go on, and make sure to write or your mother will worry!"

" I will!"

Ron entered the room, which only contained a silver plaque with a double-headed eagle imprinted on it. After quickly explaining how to properly use it the worker exited the room, leaving Ron alone.

"So I touch that plaque and I'll be sent to the Russian Ministry? Sounds easy enough, here goes nothing!"
