Ron Weasley: A Noble's Ascension

Arriving at Diagon Alley, Ron was subsequently dragged around by his mother who insisted that he stay with them. He wasn't very keen on the idea but oblidge, they then went to Madam Malkin's.

Heading inside Madam Malkin a squat, smiling witch dressed all in mauve welcomed them. She knew his mother and after they exchanged a few words told Ginny to stand on a footstool so she could take her measurements.

"So what'll it be Molly? Some new dress robes or some custom work?"

"Do you have any of that-"

As the two women started to discuss clothing Ron tuned them out when he saw a sign reading: Invisibility Cloak! Please be careful.

"*An Invisibility Cloak, it's a standard one but it has it's uses.*"

"Madam, what's the price on the Invisibility Cloak?"

"500 Galleons, I'd like to give you a discount but they're hard to come by, and I only get two a year."

Ron took a quick glance at his mother who has a face that screamed, you better not buy that Cloak. So Ron nudged his head towards the door, she understood what he meant and the two walked out while Madam Malkin continued to take Ginny's measurements.

"Mom, I want to buy that Invisibility Cloak."

"What do you need an Invisibility Cloak for anyways? It's a waste of money Ron, besides don't forget that you're paying for Ginny's clothes."

Waiting for her to say that, Ron took out his red pouch and handed her 200 Galleons. His mom looked at him, with a mixture or curiosity and anger so he quickly came up with an excuse.

"I got it from Mr. Greengrass for tutoring Daphne, I didn't want to accept, but he insisted. You can use it for Ginny's clothes."

"Ron, you know that I don't like you receiving things especially money from that man."

"I know mom, but didn't I work for it? I didn't get a handout I got paid for my services. Since you don't like it, I won't accept it anymore okay? Besides me tutoring Daphne ended yesterday."

"I understand, now let's head back inside, and Ron?"

" Yes?"

"I'm proud of you..."

After saying those words she entered the shop, leaving Ron a bit stunned but who had a warm smile on his face.

Their stay at Madam Malkin's didn't take to long after that and they walked out. Their mom had bought Ginny three beautiful dress robes that fit her perfectly while Ron got his Invisibility Cloak.

"Do you guys want some ice cream?"

"None for me but you two go along, I've got to head over to Gringotts."

They then seperated with their mother heading to the bank while Ron led his sister to Florean's Ice Cream Parlour.

Their parents had brought them her before and he fell in love with their Rocky Road. As the two of them entered the shop, Ron was greeted by his old friend Draco Malfoy.

After their match at the Greengrass Manor, they rarely ever crossed paths again. The last time they'd seen each other was at an event that Aster hosted a few months ago but even then they didn't speak to each other.

Seeing as Draco was with his mother Narcissa and not with Lucius Ron chose to ignore him. Which he thought was him being more than nice to Draco, who took it as Ron not wanting to acknowledge him.

So he quickly walked towards Ron,with the intention of making Ron take notice of him. Ron meanwhile was placing his order to Mr. Fortecue when he heard the blond's ramblings from behind him.

"Don't think that just because you changed your hair colour I can't recognize you Weasley!"

Totally ignoring him, Ron payed for the Ice Cream's and handed out a double cone to Ginny. She took the cone and didn't think that there was anything strange, since her brother would always act like that when the twins tried to bother him.

"Don't have anything to say, Weasley? You think the Greengrass's will protect you!? Just wait until we're in Hogwarts!"

Thinking that it was funny or to try to see how far he'd go, Ron did respond to his threat.

"Sorry, Malfoy but I'm going to Ilvermorny!"

Draco stood in the middle of the shop with a blank stare, he'd planned numerous ways that he'd use to torture Ron yet he wasn't going to go to Hogwarts. All his sleepless nights of coming up with those plans lost.

Once outside Ron and Ginny walked towards Gringotts while eating their Ice Cream.

"Ron, are you really going to Ilvermorny?"

"No I just said that to mess with him, although he might."

"That's good..."

Ron hadn't spent much time with his siblings he was always studying or researching something. He always thought that he was just amazed by having magic, but now thinking about how this was probably the longest conversation he'd had with his sister made him feel guilty.

"*I didn't have a family in my past life, and in this one I have probably the biggest one in the world. So am I wrong? Should I've spent less time plotting my rise to power and instead spent it being a better son and brother?*"

As he was having an Identity Crisis, a Daily Prophet newspaper with the headline: Wizengamot Sentence Young Wizard To Azkaban For Violating The Decree For The Reasonable Restriction Of Underage Sorcery.

"*This world isn't better,the powerful prey on the Weak and the Rich crush the Poor.*"

Just as Ron had predicted when Draco arrived at his home, he ran to tell his father about wanting to go to Ilvermorny. He was asked why and when he told his father that Ron was going, he received a smack on the head.

"Why would you want to chase after that insufferable brat? Besides he's not going to Ilvermorny, he's going to Hogwarts Aster told me himself."

"How would he know what that Weasley is going to do? Isn't he just their Daphne's tutor?"

Trying to not beat his son for his ignorance, Lucius took out a newspaper and threw it to his son.

"That Weasley brat has made a name for himself, and Aster wants to take him under his wing. You'd do good to follow him in that regard, and don't antagonize him he might soon be of use to us as well."

Draco didn't understand what his father meant, but nodded in agreement. Thought he hated that he'd fallen for Ron's lie, and almost went to Ilvermorny for no reason.
