Ron Weasley: A Noble's Ascension

Chapter 3 - Potion Master

After that day Ron's passion and drive to master the Lumos Spell became his sole purpose. Whenever his mother would leave him alone he'd practice the spell, even if his brothers were around it didn't matter since he doubted they could notice. Of course after his breakthrough that day his improvements were far in between. The small light orb barely grew a few centimeters after countless tries, leaving him dumbfounded.

"*It's been five months now, but I can't make it brighter or bigger, Is it something with me or something else? If only they showed an actual class in the movies instead of Ron and Harry just messing around.*"

Not being able to find the solution he fell into a state of depression, he had so much curiosity yet no way to satiate it. Even his eldest brother Bill hadn't entered Hogwarts so it wasnt like he could look through his books. As for his parents other than his father's office which was locked up when he was at work, there weren't any magic books lying around. He did know that there was an Unlocking Spell but he didn't remember it, leaving him to blankly stare out the windows onto the large fields for hours.

"*Sigh*"

That evening when his dad came home the silent Ron began to beam with energy. After hours of thinking he came up with a plan to get his small chubby hands on some Magic Books. After dinner his father would always go and continue his work from his office which was also coincidentally his bed time.

"*Plan: Get me some books starts now!*"

Not wanting to waste this chance Ron who was in his mother's embrace began to cry as loud as he could. Hearing the always quite baby everyone was shocked as far as they could remember they'd never heard him cry. Percy, Fred and George even thought that he didn't know how to, since whenever the twins tried to make him cry by scaring him he'd juat blankly stare at them. His mother tried to console him but the crying didn't stop he then stretched out his hands towards his father.

"Oh, no Ron sweety your dad can't take care of you right now besides it's time for your bedtime."

As if he hadn't heard her Ron didn't stop crying and instead tried to claw his way towards his father. Who was pleasantly surprised by his sons d.e.s.i.r.e to be with him, feeling a bit overwhelmed he decided to take the child.

"It's fine Mollywobbles, I'll place him near my desk after awhile hell get bored and fall asleep."

"Fine, fine I've got to wash the dishes either way."

Happy that he got what he wanted Ron giggled in his cute baby voice which made everyone around him smile. Even his mother who'd obviously was annoyed that he wanted to be his his father rather than with her.

"*Really mom, you'll wash the dishes? Either way I've got my way in! Hopefully there's some books on Magic in dad's office.*"

His father then proceeded to unlock his office with a key since he didn't want to teach his sons the unlocking spell just yet. Specialy to his twins, God's knows what they'd do with it. Entering he did exactly what he said he'd do, he sat Ron down near his desk on top a cabinet and then with s flick of his wand made him stick to it.

"*Huh? I can't move... Damn this backfired on me quite fast.*"

Being stick to the cabinet Ron was unable to move do he once again used his strongest attack. Crying, he began to cry while holding his hands out towards the various books on his father's bookshelf.

"I'm sorry Ron but books aren't for playing, here play with this quill instead."

Ron did accept the quill from him but in the next minute threw it at him and continued his crying. Seeing his son throw another tantrum Arthur began to reconsider his decision of bringing him inside.

*Sigh

"Uh, let's see if you want a book then how about this one?"

Hearing his words Ron was ecstatic to finally receive a book until he read the title.

"*Advance Potion Making - by Libatius Borage. A book about potions?*"

"I doubt anyone in this house will ever want to read that book so you can play with it however much you want."

Although it wasnt what he expected Ron was intrigued by the potions book, if he remembered correctly potion masters were quite rare. When something was rare or hard to come by it also meant it was expensive, so thinking along those lines he believed that he found a way to become rich.

"*I'll become a potions master and get rich off of it! Besides it might be the best way to help me answer a question I've had, are there Drugs in this world?*"

Thinking of his past life, he knew that once someone became addicted, no matter how much it cost they'd pay. He might be a amateur wizard but he was an expert Drug dealer, and with this book he might be able to find a way to become rich, so he set the book down and started reading.

>Arthur's POV<

After a long day at the Ministry he just wanted to go home eat dinner finish his work and go to bed. After his most recent child their expenses rose and his salary wasn't going to be enough specially when his wife wanted another child. Sometimes he felt that they probably should've stopped after the twins but he couldn't say that to his lovely wife.

"*Even if they're a hand full they're still mine...*"

Like the rest of the family he'd become used to his youngest son Ron being quite, so when he heard him loudly crying he was genuinely surprised. Even more so when it appeared that he wanted to be with him, due to his long work hours he hadn't had the chance to spend some quality time with him. So when he as given the chance he took it, only to soon regret it as Ron began to cry again.

"*He wants a book but which one could I possibly give him? I've still got some of my old Hogwarts books and I doubt that Billy would like to use them so what the heck*"

"I doubt anyone in this house will ever want to read this book so you can play with it however much you want."

After giving him the book he was pleasantly surprised by Ron gently placing the book down and reading it instead of just playing with it. He'd obviously heard of genius children but a genius toddler, specialy his son that was something he had trouble accepting. Yet when he peeked at the baby he found that he'd placed one of his small fingers on the page to help follow the sentences.

"*He's really fallowing along! My son's a genius! That'll show all those narcissistic bastards from the Ministry!*"

While Arthur was celebrating his child's talent, unbeknownst to him Ron was reading the book hoping to find any hallucegenic potions.
