Ron Weasley: A Noble's Ascension

Chapter 46 - Conclusion to the Meeting

" Then we've come to an agreement?"

" Yes, Sir."

After their last exchange silence permeated as both Ron and Dumbledore sat without saying a word. It wasn't until a Crimson bird flew in, did the constant silence break.

" A Phoenix. Does he have a name?"

" Yes, Fawkes. He's been with me since I can remember. I'm surprised you figured out his gender, most can't differeontiate between them."

" I took an interest into Magical Beasts, and the Phoenix is one of the most fascinating."

Fawkes flew in a circle above them before he went to the golden stand before he perched on it. Unbeknownst to Ron the old Wizard was intensively glancing at the intersection between Fawkes and Ron.

Ron rose from his seat and went to stand in front of the perched bird.

" So your name is Fawkes... Headmaster is it true that they reincarnate?"

" Yes, as they come to the end of their lives they're engulfed in crimson flames and turn to ash, which they rise from again starting the circle once again."

Ron slightly nodded as he gave the majestic bird once more before a ringing sound could resounded.

" Sir, I made a promise to my friends that I would help them study, so if you have anymore questions please ask. I'd like to finish our conversation as soon as possible, and go to the Study Hall."

" Ah, yes. It seems we've been here for quite the long time, well I don't want to keep you. Remember the agreement we made, you're to attend all of your classes, take private Transfiguration lessons from Prof. McGonagall, and in return I'll allow Prof. Flitwick to help in your dueling training."

" Thank you, Sir. I'll take my leave, goodbye Fawkes."

*Chirp*

Rising from his seat, Ron gave the Wizard a deep bow and agreeing before leaving.

Once Ron left, the countless portraits behind Dumbledore began to discuss what had occurred.

" The boy is to similar to "Him"! "

" He was also straight forward and honest he didn't tell a lie."

" What do you think Albus?"

" I do sense a great ambition from the boy, but it's to soon to pass judgement. For now I'll have Severus keep an eye out for him..."

-

Walking outside, Professor McGonagall was to escort him back since the third floor was still off limits. Ron thanked the old Witch and asked about his private lessons, which she apparently asked for.

" I'd like to thank you Professor, the headmaster informed me that you asked for me to receive advanced lesson in Transfiguration. Although I don't know why I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn directly from you."

" Since you were able to transform the floor if the classroom into a steel cage, I believe that your talents shouldn't be wasted learning the basics."

" I see, but how did you know I'd done that? If I remember correctly you weren't there, actually I don't think you ever arrived."

She quickly became red from embarrassment and had trouble finding a coherent reason for her words.

" I heard it! From some students later on! How about we pick up the pace and get you to the Study Hall?"

" Sure... "

"* It's surprisingly pleasant to see her acting so bashful, It's kinda cute.*"

-

After reaching the ground floor, the embarrassed Professor hastily left after leaving Ron at the middle courtyard. Making his way to the Study Hall, he went over what he needed to do.

"* Now that it's come to this I'll have to make a few adjustments to my plans...*"

*Sigh*

"* I didn't want to rush into a relationship but if I want to give myself some breathing room. I'll need someone "Important" in my life, a person I love.*"

-

When he entered the sunken faced librarian took quick notice of him, he didn't mind her glare and smiled at her like everyone else that looked his way.

He found the two girls he was looking for in the back seated in a table with various open books. He recognized all of them as books he'd already finished, which made him feel a bit arrogant.

" Can I please sit here?"

Since both of them were to focused on the books in front of them, along with Ron changing his voice a bit he was quickly shit down.

" No, go away."

" Don't bother us."

"..."

Taking a few steps back he spoke out to them again, this time with his regular voice.

" Alright, I'll leave you two alone from now on then."

" Ron! "

" You're back."

They both jumped up and hugged him tightly, as if he'd just came back from some dangerous mission. Being in the Study Hall, most of the students inside were from Ravenclaw so they knew why they acted as they did. Unlike the librarian who clearly didn't care and shushed them while sending death glares at them.

" Sorry! We should talk outside, lest the three of us get detention."

As they were leaving Ron nodded towards the obviously irritated librarian, to which she lessened her glare.

-

" So what happened!? Did you get in trouble for leaving Professor Snape's class? Was it detention!? Or something else?"

" Mion, he can't answer if you bombard him with questions"

" I didn't get in trouble, only a warning and I also get to have private lessons with both Professor McGonagall and Flitwick."

" What!? How!?"

" Mion... "

Hermione who was again quieted was about to pout when Ron replied stopping her from doing so.

" it's fine, I had a similar reaction when I learned about it, but there is a condition to the extra lessons so I guess it's not all good"

" What's the condition, is it something serious?"

" Perfect attendance. You should have seen how I tried to get out of it.. to no avail."

" How is that a bad thing!?"

" One thing that Ron is horrendous at is making jokes. So that's all that happened, you get a slap on your wrist and get personal lessons?"

" Yes! I told you everything went according to plan."

After they both recapped Binns class to him which was Hermione saying how much she'd learned from the class. While Daphne on the other hand, was very explicit in how dull and boring it was. As self study time was about to end Ron asked Hermione to let him have a private chat with Daphne.

As Hermione was going ahead of them to the Great Hall for Dinner Ron and Daphne slowly waked around the courtyard.

" What did you want to talk about?"

" Daphne do you remember the deal I made with your father, about me- us being engaged?"

When he first brought up the deal with his father she remembered he'd rejected the proposal. Yet when he finished speaking she stopped walking and blankly stared at Ron.

" I know that I rejected it, and I know it's an idiotic reason but I felt that I wasn't deserving of you... "

" Ron... "

" For that reason, as the Prewett Family Heir, I'd like to formally ask you... Daphne Greengrass would you be my fiancee?"
