Ruler Of Iron And Flesh

Inian's rage was still flowing throughout his body. His body glowed and radiated heat as he was flying in the direction of Kairo.

'I feel, incredible.'

Inian felt the power surging in his veins and throughout his body. Within just a couple hours, he completely annihilated Segar. Now, his focus is on the city in the North, Kairo.

It didn't take long for the sandy city to appear in his view. A natural rock formation acted as the cities walls. The only way in or out was a narrow pass.

Inian's kingly form was taking over his mind. He laughed and whistled a tone that only monsters could hear.

Rising from the depths of the sand, thousands of monsters with raw skin and no eyes appeared. They were biting at the air and clawing at the other monsters around them.

Inian willed them to wait outside the city by the narrow pass. Then, he flew over the rock formation to the cities edge. People seemed to be in relative comfort here.

Many citizens were walking and laughing down the streets. The buildings were not crumbling, and there seemed to be real guards instead of thugs patrolling the streets.

'Another city of sickness, one not worthy of the king.'

The city's apparent prosperity did not affect Inian, and he dived down onto one of the streets.

He crashed into the earth, shaking the ground around him. His wings wrapped around his body, and his figure continued to radiate light, giving him an angelic appearance.

The people nearest to him immediately stopped and stared. A guard walked closer, awed by this majestic being.

Inian smirked, "Will you kneel to me?"

The guard was caught off guard, "What?"

Inian's eyes were cold pits of darkness, "wrong reaction."

His arm transformed into a sword, and he cut the guard's head off.

The head seemed to fly off in slow motion, then a woman screamed.

Nobody moved a muscle, as they were all frozen in fear.

Inian glanced at the still figures around him, "you have one hour to evacuate the city, after that, I destroy everything around me. Now leave."

Citizens ran over one another trying to leave. They quickly spread the word to get their loved ones out of the city, and soon, a mass exodus of Kairo occurred.

Inian watched with satisfaction as the thousands of people scurried to flee with only a few words and actions from him.

'This is what it's like to have absolute power.'

He flew back up into the air, and a few soldiers in exosuits flew up to meet him.

'They think they can fight me?!'

The exosuit soldiers fired the guns on their arms. Energy rounds reflected off Inian.

Hundreds of long icicles began to form next to Inian. The exosuit soldiers stopped firing and started flying away.

Inian lifted his hand and those icicles launched towards the soldiers. They pierced their armor easily, making the soldiers fall back towards the earth.

Inian leaned his head back and laughed at the clear sky overhead. A voice quietly spoke in the back of his mind, 'stop this Inian! These people are innocent!'

He ignored the warnings in his mind and launched large lava balls at the ground below him. Buildings crumbled and melted, and many retreating families were caught in the lava.

After an hour of casual destruction passed, he dropped to the ground, causing an earthquake that destroyed the city. Everything structure was wiped out, and not a building remained.

However, a few people crawled out of the rubble.

This was a shocking turn of events, one which even shocked Inian.

He walked up to one of them and asked, "how did you survive? That would kill any normal person!"

Angry eyes were all the response he received, and the person who crawled out of the rubble held something bright in their hand.

Rock formed around the person's fist, and he launched a punch at Inian.

Inian caught the fist, "I see, so this is the so called bright coin."

The man's eyes went from anger to fear in a second and he formed rock around the other fist and threw a punch at Inian.

Inian caught that fist as well, and breathed a torrent of fire on the man.

The man turned to ash within seconds, then blew away in the wind.

There were three others who survived the earthquake, and they each held a bright coin in their hand.

A glowing sword appeared in one's hand, another shot a focused heat ray at Inian, and the last jumped high into the sky, aiming to come crushing down on Inian.

Inian scoffed and picked up some broken shards and debris. He tossed it at the three coin users, and the shards and debris ripped them apart. They all fell to the ground in a bloody mess.

Inian went to one of them and picked up one of the coins, once he did though, the coin's brightness disappeared and it became dull.

'So I can't use it? Strange...'

Inian dropped the coin and flew to the entrance of the narrow pass outside the city.

The fleeing citizens were all waiting as a few guards in front shielded them from the thousands of waiting monsters outside.

The monsters didn't move, but seemed to be waiting for some kind of order.

Inian landed in between the citizens and the monsters. He walked up to the guards in the front and said, "now, I said you could evacuate, but I didn't say that you would all leave alive."

The people shivered as the snapping and snarling of vicious monsters echoed in their ears.

"Devour," Inian commanded and those thousands of monsters ran past him, attacking all the remaining guards in citizens.

It didn't take long for them to finish them off, and soon, only bodies scattered about remained.

After having their fill, the monsters retreated back underground.

Inian breathed out a heavy sigh, his work here was done.
