RWBY: Fireborn

A/N This will be my FIRST time writing a fight/battle scene. Please let me know what you think. Plus I'll be doing some short time-skips in order to cut some unnecessary writing

Logan could be seen trekking through woods unfamiliar to him as he consulted a map of Patch Island on his scroll. For him it had been almost two weeks since he left his home, unsure of what transpired with his family and the odd woman Vernal. As Logan was instructed by his mother, he had waited then left for Patch Island and Signal Academy. He still did not know why he was forced to leave, but for some odd reason, his mind was calm instead of stressed. As any 10 year-old boy should be, unknown woods, a map, and unknown of were anything is. He was calm, as if this wasn't new to him, as if he had done this before, countless times even.

???: *Feral Growling* "Woof..." *growl*

Logan heard then felt an impact in his back, destroying his backpack and sending him tumbling into a tree. Coming to a stop, he could see what had struck him. A big wolf-like creature that stood on it's hind legs, bone-like spikes protruding from its arms, back, and knees. Its hands and feet are tipped with long, sharp, white claws, and its eyes glow through its bone-like mask as black smoke emanates off its body. A beowolf. The oddest sight was that there was cuts already on its body.

Logan slowly stood up with his back to the tree behind him. The beowolf charges in for another attack, swinging its left claw-like arm at him. Logan jumps and dodges out of the way throwing off his ruined cloak. Unsheathing his knife in his left hand and drawing his gun in his right, Logan gets into a battle ready stance that his father had taught him years before. The knife in a reversed hand grip with the blade pointing away from his body and his pistol resting on top of his left hand in front of his body. His legs were shoulder width apart, ready to move sideways at a moments notice. In the trees a ways a little, a figure watched impressed at the youth's stance and calm demeanor.

Logan rushes the beowolf before it could gain the upper hand. Firing a couple shots at the beast face, causing it to block with its arms, Logan rushes past and swipes at the beast's leg at the knee. The beowolf feels this and swings its arm, knocking Logan away and making him drop his gun.

Logan rolls with the hit and comes up on one knee, breathing heavily and slightly dazed.

Logan: ' I can't take a hit like that again! It's only thanks to auntie Mel's lessons that I can fight without aura even a little bit! I have to get 'Nigrantis' (his pistol) and load dust into it to stand a chance of running!'

Logan thought this as he was trying to regain so stamina. The beowolf, however, charge him once again. Just then Logan had a crazy thought and smiled. As the beowolf drew near, Logan ran at it, causing both the beowolf and the hiding figure to be surprised. By some dumb luck, Logan managed to pass the wolf, the wolf quickly turned and struck Logan with the back of its arm sending him flying. The hidden figure thought he had lost his mind as he watch Logan purposefully take a hit a hit from the beast! Until he saw what Logan had done on purpose, he had used the hit to launch himself towards his gun! The figure was amazed, that the boy thought of that, and was willing to take the hit!

???: 'He's calm enough to make that plan. You don't find that in many people, let alone hunters! He has talent, and that style, it looks like old Aurum's style with his sister's mix together.'

the figure thought as his eyebrows netted together in the form of a frown.

???: "Time to figure out who he is"

As Logan landed and rolled to his gun, as he grabbed it, the beowolf was above him, ready to strike. Logan saw his memories flash before his eyes as time seemed to slow down, then a voice echoed in his head. A voice that seem so familiar.

Familiar voice: "You have been give a body fitting your accomplishments! I shall gift you a mind that is befitting your new body!"

Logan heard this and his mind became clear. As he laid there with the beowolf above him, a thought came to his mind. Than suddenly, Logan punched the wolf. The figure had appeared behind Logan, ready to dispatch the beast, when he saw the boy punch the beowolf. He watched as the earth surged and a round pole rise out of the ground and strike the beowolf in the face, crushing its bone mask, killing it and throwing its corpse away. Shocking the figure, and as Logan passed out from the use of this power. As Logan was drifting off into unconsciousness, he saw a man with dark grey and black hair, dull red eyes, and stubble along his jaw line, talk to him. As he passed out, a small smile appeared on his lips, acknowledging the man. The man just sighs at the boy's antics.

As the man checks over the boy for any wounds, finding none. As he gathered what wasn't damaged from his pack, he noticed a envelope with familiar name on it. Upon reading the letter, the man when through a range of emotions; surprise, distrust, disapproval, hate, and finally disbelief. The man rushed over to were the boy throw his cloak to search for his crest, his family crest. Upon finding it, he knew what the letter contained was true, this bit will go through a lot when he wakes up. Sighing, he takes out a flask and a scroll. Dialing a number on the scroll, he opens the flask with one hand and drinks until the scroll connects.

??? 1: "You don't call very often, Qrow."

Qrow: "It's business, you remember Aurum, don't you Tai?"

Tai: "Yea, good man, what happened?"

Qrow: " I found his son, and a letter addressed to you."

Tai: "Me? Why?"

Qrow: "I'll let you read the letter to find out, and his son is going to need you, Tai. Meet me at the hospital in Signal, I'll be there soon."

Tai: " Okay, bye"

Qrow: "See ya."

As Qrow hung up, he looked towards Logan, and felt sorry for the things to come.
