RWBY: Fireborn

This is going to be interesting, thought Auren. As Logan dissipates, Auren felt something that he had not felt in many, many years. He could feel his apprentice's aura, but he could not remember his name, as he had many apprentices during his life. But this was close and coming closer, but to were? He could only guess, to Logan. Auren could only hope that Logan will be okay.

Logan awoke once again, this time in a hospital bed. As he leaned up from the bed, a man was sitting in the chair next to him sipping coffee with a light smile on his face, reading his mother's letter to Taiyang. The man has tousled silver hair, thin brown eyes, black eyebrows, and shaded glass spectacles adorned his face. A small, purple, cross-shaped pin on a green cowl around his neck. His outfit mainly consists of an unzipped black suit over a dark green, buttoned vest and green shirt. He also wore black trouser shoes and long, dark-green pants, and leaning next to him was a odd shaped cane. Behind him, a window shown that the sun had barely falling past treetops. The man had noticed that Logan had awoken and was staring at him, waiting for him to speak.

???: "Well, your not what I was expecting, young man. To think, your the son of two of my most trusted allies and hunters. From what I'm told, your semblance is quite something. To manipulate the earth itself. Quite something indeed."

The man stood up, and walked to Logan. Standing by his bedside, The man leaned down and gazed into his eyes. As if looking for something. As Logan gazed back, he saw a mixture of awe and curiosity in the eyes of the silver hair man.

Ozpin: "My name is Ozpin, young man. And I want to know why, your mother, sent you to Taiyang. And you know why.

Ozpin stated this as a fact, not a question. Logan looked at him confused. Why would I know what my mother is thinking? I can't read her mind, Logan thought. Logan felt like he was being interrogated.

Logan: "I don't know why she sent me to Mr Taiyang, Sir. I was just following what she told me to do."

Ozpin was surprised, he was using his little trick to get him to talk. Yet this polite boy didn't react to it. He didn't show it on his face. This boy may not know why than, Ozpin thought.

Ozpin: "I'm able to tell when some one lies to me, be it from years of experience. So you really don't know, its for the best you know than. Oh... Before I began Tai already agreed to accept you, and went to get clothes for you as most of your things were... unusable anymore. Now then, your parents were once my students of my school, a school for hunters, and as they studied and went on missions, they made quite amount of enemies. And one of those enemies has gone after them and you. For your safety, they sent you to Taiyang. They believe that he could help your training, they also expressed your d.e.s.i.r.e to be a hunter as well. So I'll only say this, if you want to know more, then get accepted into my school."

Ozpin left before Logan could ask questions, leaving him confused. Logan watched as the man known as Ozpin leave. Questions plagued his mind; Who, what, why; all these questions continued for sometime. About an hour later after Logan managed to calm down, he heard the to his room open, two men had entered. One is a man with faded blond hair that has two small strands sticking out from the top and blue eyes. His facial hair consists of a soul patch and small stubble along his jawline. On his right arm is a tattoo of his emblem, which resembles a heart. He was carrying a white shopping bag. While the other is wearing a red, tattered cloak, a gray dress shirt with a long tail, black dress pants and black dress shoes, with graying black, spiky hair, dull red eyes and slight stubble along his jawline.

Tai: "Hey! Good to see your up!! I'm Taiyang, you can call me Tai, and this grumpy old man is Qrow."

Qrow: "Hey!! Who you calling 'old'!? I may be grumpy, but I'm not old!"

Qrow shouted as he took out a hip-flask and went to take a sip. Tai quickly swiped it, leaving Qrow glaring at him.

Tai: "Not in front of him Qrow."

Logan: "It's okay, Mr Taiyang, auntie Mel likes drinking. I'm used to dealing with her and her dunk random outbursts."

Tai and Qrow looked at him with wide eyes. They heard something that shocked them to the core. A thing could not be unheard.

Both: "Auntie Mel?!?"

Now it was Logan's turn to be shocked. To him, it was normal for him to call her that. Why are the so surprised that I call her auntie, Logan thought.

Qrow: "Okay, if he has the pair to call her that, he's related."

Tai: "Agreed. Even I wouldn't do that if I were related. Anyway, Logan is it?"

Logan: "Yes, sir."

Tai: "Tai is enough. I assume that Mr Ozpin explained sum what that I agreed to take you in, and teach you to be a hunter. Okay?"

As Tai talked he walked towards Logan. Finally stopping as he got to his right side and leaned down to talk at eye level with him. Logan could tell he was capable as he peered in to his eyes.

Logan: "Thank you... Tai, it would be my p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to be taught by you. I only hope that I can keep up and not disappoint you. Please take care of me."

Logan lowered his head, trying to be polite with Tai. As Logan looked up, Logan was shocked at what he sees. Tai and Qrow were staring at him with wide eyes.

Qrow: "Just like his mother. Kind-heart and polite, but I get the feeling-"

Tai: "That tic him off the wrong way, and meet a monster in return?"

Qrow: "Yea, I'm just wondering which side that monster comes from. It would be great if it was his mother's."

Tai: "Yea, I hear ya. I don't think that I could handle if it was his father's."

Logan: "What are you talking about?"

Qrow: "Listen kid, we were in the same year as your parents and aunt. Your father had a mean streak a mile long, while your mother... well Ozpin had a hard time dealing with her.

Your father lost his mind to his anger, a typical berserker. You mother was calm and collected when she snapped, and she went in to overdrive and 'dealt' with what mad her snap. Second hardest fight he ever had, according to him."

Tai: "Yea, I remember that, a good portion of the school was destroyed. Anyway, Qrow can you go check him out its about time we leave. My girls should be home and I don't want Yang and Ruby eating nothing but junk food."

Qrow: "They'll be fine, whats the worst that could happen?"

Tai: "Remember Yang's 'over easy eggs'? That mark is still on the ceiling of the kitchen."

Qrow: "I'll go sign him out."

Qrow quickly left while Tai stayed behind. And as he left, Tai set the white bag on the bed. As he walked to the door he spoke.

Tai: "That bag has a new set of clothes in it as your old ones were trashed. Qrow was able to scrounge up your things and bring them to my house, your knew home. I'll show you were when we get there. Now get dressed, you still have to meet my daughters. I'll be outside if you need anything."

Logan: "Thank you!"

Logan called as the door opened and closed. As Logan got up, he noticed that his body felt better then ever, stronger even. Logan realized that he need to be stronger to protect his family and those he cares for if he wants to see his family again. Signing, he got dressed, the bag contained a simple red t-shirt, blue jeans, socks and u.n.d.e.r.w.e.a.r, as well as a pair of brown sneakers. As he finished, he walked out the door to his new life.
