RWBY: The Black Reaper

Days passed since Mesa's encounter with Cinder and Ironwood, after that encounter he didn't see neither Ironwood or Cinder's group. He could they were avoiding him, especially Cinder's groups. The only thing worth mentioning, during the past few days, Ironwood's fleet retreated few kms. It seems Mesa's threats and Ozpin pursuits convinced the general.

Currently, Mesa was sitting in Port's class. He and the other students were being tormented by Port's story, the professor would enter his own world once he start talking about his glorious days. Most of the students were bored and some sleeping. Even Pyrrha and Weiss had bored expression on their faces.

On the other hand, Mesa was fully focused looking in the direction of Port. To be exact he was staring at the board behind Port. In a flawless and amazingly fast move, Mesa threw his dagger toward Port. The dagger missed Port's head with only 3 mm hitting the board.

The students all looked at the dagger, none paid attention to port who stopped talking when the dagger flew past him. Port stopped talking and sighed tiredly, he wasn't really surprised by the dagger. He looked to the back, to see the dagger stuck to the board. The dagger actually hit a fly which was resting in the board stabbing it dead.

Port then looked at the rest of the board, it had dozen of stabbing marks. For the past few weeks, Mesa kept throwing his dagger at the board interrupting his story and killing any insect walking or flying in the room.

He couldn't understand how these insects entered the room or why Mesa kept killing them. In addition, how could Mesa accurately kill them amazed him. He wanted to cry his griefs, at first he tried to stop Mesa only for Mesa to threaten him to shave his glorious mustache. The rest of the students didn't seem to care at all about the lecture or the well being of their teacher. In fact he could see some of them trading liens.

Port could tell the students were having bets whether Mesa will hit or miss. The ringleader of this betting was none other miss Yang Xiao-Long. He heard her saying in a low tone " 19th hit in row, come and pay losers "

The bell rang, Port sighed again and said " The time betrayed us again, the story will have to wait till the next lecture. Have a good day students "

All the students started leaving, each team went back to their room. Mesa sat with his team talking and playing in their rooms, hearing Nora stupid stories and randoms

sentences amused him a little. Mesa noticed a monkey faunus and blue hair boy climbing the roof from their side and moving toward the other side where team RWBY was located.

He thought to himself [ The half monkey is here and that should be neptune. So today, team RWBY will probably go investigate The White Fang again. I doubt the last incident will stop Blake from causing trouble ]

Mesa knew what was going to happen, but this time he didn't want to join. He was too bored to deal with the useless crime lord and his paladin. Beside, team RWBY can handle themselves.

Hours passed by, it was now evening. Mesa was playing card with his team. They played in pairs, Mesa and Pyrrha was the first pair while the other two were the second pair. The winning pair will give an order to the losers and they have to oblige.

Nora screamed " Now losers!!! Receive your divine punishment. " as she showed her cards. Mesa and Pyrrha ended as the losers. Mesa sighed, Pyrrha was the worst card player he had the honour to play with.

Nora said " Now you shall obey your queen order. I want you to get me a 100 pancake from Vale's pancakes kingdom shop "

Ren spoke from the side " Nora, You can't have too much pancakes " Ren looked at Mesa and Pyrrha and said " 10 should be plenty "

Nora screamed " No!!! Traitor of the pancake kingdom!! "

Pyrrha laughed at Nora's antics while shook his head. Mesa directly teleported with Pyrrha to Vale. He appeared in front of the pancake shop which Nora mentioned. They walked inside to buy. When they finished and left the shop, they saw a huge paladin speeding on the highway chasing after Blake and Sun while Yang and Neptune with her in their tail.

Pyrrha said with astonishment " What is going on? That was Yang and Blake"

Mesa said with unimpressed tone " Team RWBY hunting Roman Torchwick, the idiot got a paladin from atlas military. Nothing important "

Pyrrha said with serious face " Let's go we have to help them "

Mesa replied " Nah, they will be fine. I know for a fact "

Pyrrha wasn't convinced and got slightly angry " How can you say that ?? They are our friends !!"

Mesa looked at her like looking at idiot " I didn't say anything that deserved your anger, beside as I said. They can handle themselves, I'm willing to be that none will be injured aside from the streets and the bridge pillars "

Pyrrha narrowed her eyes " If you are not coming, they I will go alone "

Mesa sighed and said " Okay, let's go"

On the highway, Blake and Sun while dodging and jumping between cars while shooting back at the paladin. The paladin was closing the gap destroying everything in its path. Yang was following them on her bike, while Neptune sitting next to her using his grenade launcher to shoot the paladin. But he was totally ignored.

Blake received a message on her scroll from Ruby and Weiss saying they were in position. They were intending to ambush the paladin. However, there plan didn't have change to work as the paladin was sent flying off the highway.

All of them stopped in their tracks looking at the fallen paladin. They heard a girl voice from the side " Are you guys okay? "

They looked in the voice direction to see Pyrrha carrying a plastic bag while Mesa on her side looking bored.

Yang was the first to respond " We are all ok!! And Mesa, I'm always happy to see you especially in these circ.u.mstances hehehehe"

Mesa rolled his eyes and then looked at Blake with annoyed face " I'm sure this detective play is your work. The last time, you nearly got everyone killed because of your selfish wish, but you didn't learn."

Blake looked down, Yang next to her got angry " Why are you talking to her like that? We are a team, we help each other. You don't have the right to say that "

Once Yang finished, Weiss and Ruby arrived, Ruby asked " What is going on? "

Yang replied " Mesa is talking rudely to Blake and blaming her for our investigation "

Ruby and Weiss looked at Mesa, Ruby wanted to say something but she noticed the scroll in Mesa's hand. He wasn't paying attention to them as he was focused on his croll, he was calling someone. A moment later, the other side picked up. Mesa said " Hello Brother "

Everyone heard him paled, Mesa didn't care as he continued " Yes, yes, whatever! You still owe me a favor. Time to pay back "

Mesa seemed to have a conversation with his brother, he continued " I don't care, now listen! I want you to hunt every single member of The White Fang in Vale, spare none!! The faster the better "

Mesa closed his scroll and looked at the pale Blake " Happy now?? The White Fang issue ends here "

Everyone widened their eyes hearing him. Blake turned completely pale, she cried out " You can't do that !!! "

Mesa snorted " I already did, beside the bastard wanted to pay me back for a while now. He finally got the chance to get rid of his debt. He will not stop even if I tell him to stop. Too late !!"

Mesa walked toward the other side of the highway and jumped down toward the fallen paladin leaving everyone who had a disbelief look on their face, Blake in particular was pale and her eyes filled with despair. She still remembered the night at the docks. Centos left her with endless fear and terror.

Mesa looked at the paladin, which was struggling to retain its balance, he smiled brightly as he said " Hello there!! Did you miss me? I know I did miss you"

even though Mesa he was looking at the paladin, his focus was on the petite girl hiding using her semblance near the paladin. Neo was there to protect Roman if he was in danger. When she saw Mesa and heard him, she knew he was talking to her. She didn't care much about Mesa's words, she felt fear and worry for Roman.

Roman didn't notice what Mesa was focused on and thought he was talking to him, so he replied from inside the paladin " Who in the bloody hell will miss you freak?? If I have the choice, I don't want to see you in whole my life "

Mesa looked at Roman with disdain " Who talked with you sissy, I was talking to the little beauty near you "

Roman got angrier " Who the sissy, Flower boy? This time I will beat the shit out of you "

Roman used the paladin to dash toward Mesa, who in return only raised his hand and said << Shinra Tensei >>. The Paladin was sent flying breaking through concrete pillars and hitting the concrete wall. Roman inside the paladin was not harmed thanks to the paladin.

The paladin was not so lucky, the blow destroyed many critical parts of its system, now it couldn't move at all. Roman came out of the paladin cursing, he looked at Mesa with fear.

Roman ordered Neo " Distract him !! "

Neo attacked Mesa in hope of stopping him. Mesa smiled, he caught her arms and bend the to the back, easily stopping Neo movements. She tried to fight back but she couldn't break free from him. Neo was caught in a hopeless situation.

Roman looked back at the helpless Neo then ran away. Neo saw Roman escaping alone, she couldn't believe her partner in crime abandoned her just like that. Mesa on the other hand frowned, he said " Okay, I knew the guy was a low life coward. But this is too much. He left the girl fight for him and ran."

Mesa was truly disappointed by Roman. Mesa knew Roman was a coward and criminal, but he originally thought that he had his principles. But now seeing him running away like this, he knew that Roman will abandon anything when he is afraid. Mesa thought that sparing Roman life was not worth it. In mesa's mind, Roman's worth dropped to zero.

Neo felt more disappointed than Mesa. She looked in sadness at Roman as she stopped struggling. Mesa let go of her and said " Honestly, I didn't plan to arrest you or him. But that coward really run too fast. Well whatever, you should go "

Neo looked in confusion at Mesa and blinked. Mesa in return said " I lost a bet and was suppose to get pancake before my teammate dragging me here. So you can go, I only made sure you want harm the fools above there " he pointed toward the highway and continued " Beside, If I let you get arrested, then how will I flirt with you ?? I will have to break you out of the prison which is quite troublesome. Now che che, start running"

Neo couldn't understand this guy, what does he want exactly? First he harassed her and then knocked her out, then he kidnapped her to have date, now he caught her to release her again. She always prided herself of being unpredictable and weirdo but next to him she was like a good and well behaved child. Neo started running away while still in daze of Mesa's behaviour.

Mesa thoughts were a lot simpler, playing with Neo was entertaining for him. Things moving like this is fun for him, enjoying life to the fullest was Mesa's main focus for now.

Mesa saw drones coming toward them, they were news reporters. He went back to the top of the bridge leaving the paladin laying there.

On the bridge, everyone was looking at Blake with pity, She was crying. Everyone watched Mesa going down alone and now coming back. All of them looked at him with agner, as for Blake, Mesa could see hatred in amber eyes. He didn't care. He only looked at Pyrrha and said " We are done here, we should go back to the dorms. Nora and Ren might get worried. "

Yang exploded, her eyes were shining red " What is wrong with you?? You act like you did nothing, you asked a monster to start killing people!! How could you be so calm!!"

No one else spoke, but they all shared the same thoughts as Yang. Mesa looked at Yang and gave her a disdainful smile " Let me guess, you want to find what The White Fang is up to and stop them. In order to satisfy your teammate d.e.s.i.r.e of not allowing her previous friends going down the wrong path correct? "

Yang eyes widened, she didn't know what to do. She felt what was said is the truth but she felt it was wrong. She didn't want to accept it like that. A look of determination appeared on Ruby's face as she said " You can't act like this, it is wrong. There is always a hope for things to become better!! We are huntsmen and huntresses it is our job to give people hope. We mustn't give up "

Mesa laughed at Ruby, the look he gave Ruby terrified her " Hope? Mustn't give up? How contradictory? The concept of hope is nothing more than giving up. A word that holds no true meaning. You will only remember hope only when you lack the ability and tools required to achieve your goals. When you stop trying and leave everything to your luck, then you are hoping. Ruby, in this world there is nothing black or white like in the stories. Just different level of gray. Huntsmen and Huntresses are nothing but mercenary whether you like it or not. The only different is that Huntsmen sell themselves as great people while mercenary act true to themselves. Ruby didn't talk back, her eyes started tearing. Mesa moved toward Pyrrha but she backed off. Mesa seeing her, he snorted and teleported alone. Everyone stayed silent,

Mesa teleported into his Kamui dimension, He didn't care about what the others would think of him or even if they hated him. He was only with them for the sole reason of having some fun while his plan progressed.

In the dimension, Mesa looked at the other two figures standing in front of him, each one of them carried an item. The items were the god of light relics. Behind them two young women lied at the cold ground their eyes had no light, they were dead, just a cold corpses. These two were the summer and winter maidens.

Mesa smiled, he looked at the two corpses and talked as if he was talking to a living person " No hard feelings, if you want to blame and hate someone, blame Ozpin. He built the relics vaults with magic so no one could open it aside from the maidens. If I were to break it with brute force, then the relics will be lost forever. "

Mesa eyes turned toward the relics and murmured " two more to go… Soon, we will meet!! "
