Sasha's Dream

Chapter 11 - That night

It didn't take much time for Sasha to go to bed after that. But, Doko headed out in the dark starry night with enough chill in the night wind. Everything was calm and quiet. The gentle cold wind could cast a spell of appreciation on anyone.

Doko was standing on the edge of a high land looking at the gentle sky.

On the other hand, Lily had been busy all day despite the fact that the villagers had not called out that day. But, that's the main reason why Lily was busy. There were few other reasons as well. She had to discuss it with the one skilled in such facts. So, at the same chilly night, she went out with a black ball of fur in her hand.

It was the same Rain Bug which she, Doko and Sasha had found in the villager's house the previous day.

She passed many types of land and finally she reached her destination. It was a big fat tree growing in one side of a high land. Almost in the middle of the roots where the roots touched the lower land, was a wooden door big enough for anyone to enter.

She went near the door and knocked. After a while, the door opened slowly on its own and she entered.

The inside of the cave like house was quite dim lighted. It became mostly dark when the door closed. The other main feature was that it was full of techs. There were wires lying around everywhere.

She carefully looked around to see if the one she wanted to meet was there.

"Shito! Are you here?" She called out.

After a while, a rather childish voice was heard.

"Where else can I be?" Said the owner of that voice.

Lily was a little surprised as that person appeared suddenly from the utter darkness of the room. He was very short and was wearing a wooden crown with a black crystal same as Doko's. His eyes were pretty big but, he had a grumpy and worrisome look on his face.

"I brought the Rain Bug as promised," said Lily.

"These things are getting stronger. But...things are still very smoky. Not one of them fell today. At least two should've crashed according to my calculations."

Lily continued to listen as he went on expressing his thoughts.

"Is it just a coincidence ? Or...is there something else?" I had been working for a while to figure it out. But..."

Lily understood where he was going. She knew the right thing to tell him.

"You told me once before that there is a purpose behind everything. Surely you'll be able to figure it out eventually." She said.

"Maybe..." Shito said with an uncertain voice.

He went near a small wooden chair to operate the computer-like device and started to climb up.

As he did, Lily asked him what she intended to from the start.

"There was something I wanted to talk to you about. Do you know about the new girl who appeared a few days ago?"

"Yes, I know. What of it?"

"Actually, I met her. She is a very nice girl. But... I get a very strange feeling when I'm around her. Do you think I should keep a close eye on her?"

Shito finally looked away from the monitor and faced Lily.

"I think that you know the best in this regard, Highest Leader. "

From this, Lily had the clearest idea about what she would do. As the leader, she would do anything to protect the land.

"I see... Then, I'll take my leave, Weather Controller."

After talking to Shito, Lily was on her way home. Then, while passing a high land, she noticed Doko standing at the edge of it looking at the chilly night sky. She went near him.

Before she could say anything, Doko noticed her.

"Hey, Lily! I didn't see you all day. What have you been up to?"

"This and that.What about you?"

"I was helping the villagers with Sasha."

"I see."

Lily thought that asking Doko about what she wanted to know would be the best choice as Doko seemed to hang out with Sasha a lot. So, she did.

"There is something important that I need to know from you, Doko. It's about Sasha..."

Hearing that from her, he wasn't surprised at all. Rather, he was actually expecting it. He knew that as the leader of the land, Lily would try her best to defend it. So, without much delay, he replied.

"I had a feeling you would ask me about her eventually. Well, it's your job as the highest leader."

Lily remained silent as Doko continued after a small pause.

"Sasha is a sweet girl with a strong will of helping the villagers. I have nothing bad to report about her. Not to mention, some villagers even thanked her for her hard work today."

Lily was quite surprised when she heard about the villagers thanking Sasha. Because, with the current state of the land, it wasn't expected at all.

"Some villagers thanked her?" Lily confirmed.

"Yeah."

Then, she recalled a legend as what she had confirmed raised a hope within her.

"You know the legend of 'The White Crystal', right? The legend says that one day a person will reach this world who will be able to hold the Crystal. That person will be the saviour of this land."

As Doko recalled the same thing, he agreed with her.

"Yes, that's right."

He stared at her for a while. Then, he looked back at the sky and said," I see where you're going. Well, there's a possibility that Sasha might be our saviour. She is that kind of person. I'd like to give her a chance."

He looked at Lily again and continued,"That is...if you allow it."

Their conversion had ended shortly afterwards. Lily gave him permission. Well, Doko saw that coming. As the gentle cool wind continued to blow under the dark starry night, he finally started for home.

He was a little worried about what might happen to Sasha. But, he was also eager to see the results.

As a childhood friend, he wanted to know how much she had grown.
