Sasha's Dream

Chapter 4 - First visit

"Anyways," said Doko and turned at Lily again and continued, "So, what brings you here, Lily?"

Lily gave a sigh and replied,"The village has been attacked again."

Doko stared at her as she continued,

"I don't know the details. But, the villagers requested help. So, I came here to get you."

"Then let's get going!" Doko said.

Sasha listened to everything and finally spoke up.

"I wanna go too!"

"Sure! Just follow us!" Doko said without any delay.

Lily showed signs of doubt and started to say something but Doko interrupted and said,"It's okay. Let's take her with us." Lily didn't argue further more and accepted it. Sasha became excited to know that she was going to visit the village of her dream world for the very first time. She couldn't wait to meet the villagers.

And so, Doko, Lily and Sasha started for the village. If it were only Doko and Lily, they would've flown or perhaps, ran fast to reach it quickly. But, as Sasha was with them, Doko wanted her to see more of the land. So, they all walked.

On their way, they crossed many rivers, climbed some high places and also passed through many fields of light green grass. Along the way, they reached a forest as pale as white. There were numerous trees which had white leaves and the trunks and branches were as dark as a dead night with no stars. Sasha was highly impressed to see the forest. Doko said that it was called 'White Forest'. Sasha thought that the name suited the forest in the best way.

After a while, they finally reached the entrance. At the entrance, Sasha could see that the strangely shaped houses were well organized in both sides. She also noticed that the houses were different from the others and each of them had different designs. She was curious to know what was waiting ahead of them if they kept on moving along the road between the houses. So, she kept on moving forward along with Doko and Lily.

Then after some time, a cat like human came in front of them and said,"You finally came. You're late."

That person was a villager. He had a grumpy look on his face. Despite his looks, with two fluffy ears on top and the fuzzy skin looked very peculiar and interesting to Sasha.

As Sasha was examining all that, the villager finally noticed someone unfamiliar and came straight at her.

Without any hesitation she said hello to him.

But, he only stared at her quite rudely and without replying he faced Lily. Sasha found it a little weird and unsettling but she remained quiet. He asked Lily angrily, "What is this?!"

"Sh- She is new here." Lily said in a rather panicking tone.

"New? So, she isn't from around here. No wonder this land is suffering so much." The villager said.

Sasha stared at him as he said such a thing. She started to feel unwelcome.

He then spoke in a serious tone,"Lily, I would like to advise you to stop bringing outsiders into our land. They all cause destruction."

Lily was struggling to answer but Doko stepped in and finally said,"Sir, she didn't bring her. I did. I don't think she'll cause any destruction. Rather I think that she may save it."

Hearing Doko's strong words, that man had nothing more to say. At last, changing the subject he said, "Anyways...Lily, my house has been struck again. Not just me. Ten more have met the same fate."

What he said became a matter of concern because, the number was really high.

"10 more?!" Lily said in horror.

"That's a lot comparing to the usual," said Doko,"What could've caused it?"

Calming herself down, Lily smartly said,"I don't know that yet. But, we shouldn't investigate now. Let's go and see it for ourselves and try our best to repair the damages."

So, according to what Lily had said, they all followed the villager to his home. Reaching there, Doko, Lily and the villager didn't seem much troubled. But, Sasha was shocked. There was a good reason behind that. When she got there, she saw that the roof top of the house was almost fully destroyed. She was too scared to think that the deadly creatures which Lily mentioned had been behind it.

Without further delay, they all entered his home. The inside was a total mess as the debris of the ruined roof top were all over the floor and furniture. Within the debris, Lily noticed a dark round thing lying on the ground. She went to it and picked it up with her big pale hands.

It was a dark creature with dark black hair all over it. Also, it had two dead white eyes with no reflection which made it look very creepy. At a distance, Sasha could see the round dark thing. She asked in horror, "What is that dark hairy thing?"

Without moving his eyes from it,

Doko replied,"It's a Rain Bug."

"I can't believe how a single one did so much damage." Doko said to Lily.

Lily nodded and said silently as if she had been in deep thought,

"What's more unbelievable is how it still hasn't disappeared. Normally it would right after landing. These bugs aren't supposed to maintain it's physical existence for long on the ground."

After thinking for a while, Lily finally put it aside and said to Doko,"We should think about it later. Let's repair it first. We have to repair ten more after all. We must finish it by sunset. So, let's hurry."

Sasha only listened to them and stood helplessly brooding over the matter. Lily noticed her being too quiet. She could remember how enthusiastic she was about visiting the village at first. So, though she didn't like her too much, she went to her. Looking into her eyes, she said,

"It's alright. We will try to finish our work quickly. So, will you please wait for us a bit?"

Sasha nodded and went to the nearest place she could see fit for waiting. All day long, she stared at Lily and Doko as they were working hard to repair the damages. She wasn't able to do anything and she felt bad about it.

A lot of time had passed and it was already evening. Doko and Lily finally finished their work. Doko went to Sasha and said,

"We're done, Sasha. Let's go."

But then he noticed that she looked very upset. "Sasha?" He called out her name rather carefully thinking about what she had gone through all day.

Sasha gave a faint smile and said, "Oh, sorry. I guess I spaced out. Let's go." Her faint smile didn't last for long. So, it was clear to Doko that she was forcing herself to smile. He didn't say anything more but gave a faint smile as she did.

They started to walk towards Doko's house. But, Sasha didn't care to notice that she was going to her best friend's house for the first time. All the way, she was only brooding over what had happened that day. So, the three of them quietly walked and walked.

After reaching Doko's house, Lily parted ways. Doko showed Sasha to her room and without any more thought, she went straight to bed.
