Sasha's Dream

Chapter 6 - Beginning

The next day...

Sasha woke up from a rather short sleep. Her hair was ruffled and messy. She was looking for Doko and so, she was wandering around the house. She didn't get the chance to see it before because of what had happened last night.

After a moment, she found him sitting by the window.

"Good morning!" Sasha said.

Doko noticed her and replied.

"Good morning!"

Then he made a funny face and said,"You look great, Sasha. Except..."

Sasha was eager to know what he was thinking. "Except...?" Sasha asked.

"You look very funny with your ruffled curly hair. Comb it at least!" Doko said while laughing.

Sasha became embarrassed and spoke in an almost struggling tone,"Enough of that! I couldn't find a comb anywhere. Lend me one!"

Doko brought a comb and gave it to her. He was still silently laughing. Sasha was Still embarrassed. She combed her hair and tied it. But she didn't tie it as she usually did. She used only one lace to tie all her hair on the back side of her head. Doko was surprised to see her like that.

"You changed it..."

Sasha looked back at him and said, "I did it so that my hair doesn't get in my way. Don't you like it?"

"No, it suits you well." Doko said with a warm smile.

After that, Sasha had breakfast as per his suggestion and started to prepare for a new adventure. The one that she wanted to succeed in.

Before moving out, Doko brought a dress to her.

"I think you should try these on. You'll need them."

"Oh, really?" Sasha confirmed.

She put on the dress. It was a half sleeve pink dress along with a pink skirt. Between the dress and the skirt was a black wide belt. Under the dress and the skirt was a black skin tight cloth. And, the shoes were black and shiny.

"How do I look?" Sasha asked for Doko's opinion.

"Just like the village girls," Doko grinned as he said,"In order to help the villagers, you should look like them."

"I see. This dress is really beautiful, though." Sasha admitted.

Then, they finally started for the village. Along the way, Doko said,"You must know a few facts about the villagers before talking to them. So, listen up!"

Sasha paid attention.

"They don't want you to help them. So, you must not lose hope no matter what. Also, while talking to them, make sure to use polite and pleasing words," Doko explained.

"Okay. Got it." Sasha replied. She became motivated to bring back peace in the village.

After walking for a while, they finally arrived at the village. Sasha was having doubt whether the villagers would be up so early in the morning. But as they entered the village, she noticed that they had already started working.

At a distance, she could see that a catlike villager was carrying two heavy bags in both of his hands and another pile of a kind of crop on his back. He was struggling quite a bit with those. That instant, she thought of helping him.

"That Mister might need some help." She said to Doko.

Doko nodded. By that, he meant that she was right. But, Sasha started running towards the villager to give him her helping hand.

"Mister!!!" She called out.

Doko wanted to stop her. He knew that she couldn't do anything to help that man. She wasn't as strong as him. But, he was too late. Sasha had already gone to him.

"Good morning, Mister! Can I help you carry some of your belongings?" Sasha said to that man.

He looked up at her and gave an irritating look. "You're in my way," said he,"Step aside."

"I just want to help you." Sasha insisted.

"Oh, you want to help me?" He said in a rather sarcastic tone,"Fine then!"

He put one of the heavy bags on the ground and told her to carry it.

Sasha started to doubt. But, she went to carry it anyway. She gripped the handle of the bag. After embracing herself, she started to pull with all her might. But, it didn't even budge. She kept on trying but in vein. She understood that she didn't have the strength.

"What's wrong? I thought you were going to carry it for me." The man said giving her a cold look.

She looked down. "I am very sorry," she said. She was pretty much hurt because of the situation.

Doko finally came to her. "What happened?" He asked. Sasha remained quiet. That man replied instead.

"This girl just wasted my time for nothing!" He said.

Doko looked at him and said in a polite but furious tone,"She was only trying to help. You should at least thank her for that." The man remained silent. He knew what Doko had said was the right thing. But he didn't want to admit it. "Let me help you instead," Doko said and in an instant pulled up the bag.

"Fine by me," he said.

As Sasha helplessly looked at things working out , Doko patted her head. She looked at him. " It's okay," He said,"Wait here till I come back."

Then he went with that man carrying the heavy bag.
