Servants With A Modern Weapon

Chapter 41 - Returning to The Academy

A shook could be felt from my head. Someone was shaking my head to wake me up. Damn, what a terrible way to be wakened up in the morning.

"Good morning, General," Lillie saluted me in front of my table.

"Morning, General Meyer. How was the party?" I asked her as I wiped my eyes from the sleep crust that formed on the corner of my eyes.

She was wearing the ABU uniform like me. Her hair is inside the cap that she wore.

She picked up the leftover coffee cup from my table, "It was good, sir," she answered shortly.

"Have the boys prepared the jets for me?" I asked her.

"Yes, the AV-8B Harrier is waiting for you, general," she said to me.

I got surprised, and I tried to reconfirm the fact, "As far as I can remember, I ordered a sortie for an F-35."

"Really? I apologize," she said to me.

"Do you really want that disciplinary action that bad?" I asked her with an authoritative tone.

"No, I don't," she said to me.

"Well, let's see. You were drunk as hell last night and ignoring my order. Now you're making a mistake that a general shouldn't do," I said to her.

"But general," She tried to make an excuse.

"Put that cup back in my table, please," I said as I stood up from the chair.

"You know what is more refreshing? How about a dash to the hangar," I said after that.

"Sir Yes Sir," She said as she ran outside then followed by me.

We ran for about 20 km while I was shouting at her on the way. Some of the soldiers were whispering about their base commander was getting smoked.

I finally arrived at the hangar where my jet was on stand by. As it turns out, the plane was an F-35C-XA and not an AV-8B.

"General, what is this joke?" I asked her.

"The upper staff decided that we are going to prank you," she said.

"Ok, but don't do that again," I said to her as I put my g-suit.

"Sir, yes sir," she said as I entered the jet fighter.

I closed the c.o.c.kpit then turned on the engine. I turned the dial to the ATC channel.

Wilson: "Striker 1 requesting permission to take off."

ATC: "Striker 1, you may take off on runway 4."

Wilson: "Thank you."

I taxied to runway number 4. I requested the authorization to take off from the ATC.

Wilson: "Requesting authorization to take off."

ATC: "Take off authorized, Have a safe flight general."

I turned on the afterburner then I left for the open skies.

How dangerous could the open skies be? Although I carried 2 BVRAAM missile.

I turned on the afterburner and accelerated until I reached Mach 1.6.

15 Minutes Later

A town appeared on the horizon. It was the Costellia town region. I looked around the town wall and searched for the best place to land.

The guards were like on a siege. Even they prepared their anti-dragon equipment. Because of that, I flew in the direction of the forest.

Luckily, I saw the helicopter that Cecile and Maria used yesterday. Beside that helicopter, there was a horse.

"Well, [Initiate VTOL Mode]," I used the voice command on the F-35C-XA.

The plane turned into an almost vertical fight state. I lowered the engine output then landed the plane beside the helicopter.

"[Power down]," I said as I released my flight helmet and put off my G-suit. I only wore my ABU uniform with a military cap.

The engine turned off, then I got out of the plane. I used the voice command then locked the plane.

"Enter [Off] mode," I said as I left the plane beside the heli and got on the horse.

I whipped the horse then headed straight to Costellia. I got greeted by the town's guard.

"Hey, Wilson, where were you last night? The girls that were always with you and Garth have returned," The town's guard said.

"I was having some sort of things I needed to do in the forest last night. It's the grace request," I said to him.

"Very well then," He said as he let me in.

I brought the horse to the academy. The first thing I see was Garth shouted at me from the council's building. He wore A white short-shirt with black trousers.

"Wilson, Come here," He shouted.

I guided my horse to his direction, then I tied the horse to a pole located near the building. I got out of the horse.

"What?" I said.

"Anton has been missing since you were leaving this school," He said.

"Say what?" I asked him.

"Yes, He has been missing since Saturday," Garth said to me.

"Well, I want to take a rest first," I said to him as I enter the building door.

"Sure thing," He said as he followed me.

I entered the building and headed straight to Anton's office. Just before I wanted to open the door. One of the discipline committee members stopped me on my trail. He was one of the senior members of the committee.

"What are you doing?" He shouted.

"I'm just touching this doorknob with such gentle care that your brain could understand," I said sarcastically.

His face turned sour, "Are you trying to make fun of me?" He said.

"No, why don't you try minding your own business?" Garth shouted at him.

I tried to open the door, but he started to cast a spell in front of him.

I rolled up my sleeve, and with a scary tone, I shouted, "WOULD YOU MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!!"

His face turned pale, and his spell was shattered. He left with glassy eyes.

"You used the trademarked D.I tones, huh?" Garth commented.

"Yea, now let's open this door, bring your uniform," I asked him.

"Yes, I don't want to be dirty in this fancy clothes either," He said as he left the building.

Garth left the building. I was all alone because the person who I was shouted was crying while running from the building.

I inspected the door.
