Spartan In Star Wars

Chapter 57 - Ril'ah's First Year 1 of 2

Ril'ah P.O.V.

A year ago I was just a regular guard for the Amidala Family. Well to be exact I was a guard for Padme. Her ideals were for an ultimate peace, no wars, no corruption, just an everlasting peace. Honestly, I don't believe in peace but this was a Job that my close friend Sid got for me.

I've always heard the stories of the "old Mandalorians and there warring culture." I found them fascinating. A race that was built into a undying culture. No matter as long as one remain the Mandalorians can rebuild they have no limits. Their history alone was truly amazing from Conqueror to Ultimate to Lesser to Destroyer. Everyone one of the Mandalor had a history no matter how long or short the reign was.

As a poor boy in the city of Theed I would never have much hope to amount to anything in my life. Thankfully, I had my friend Sid who got my job. Otherwise who knows what could have happened to me. Anyways, I sometimes took my job too seriously and that would get me in trouble. I would over-search visitors. Would double or even triple check our route when we went out causing a delay. I wanted to be the best I could at the job I was given.

Panaka took his job seriously but I would always be yelled at because I took it to the next level. "We are peaceful people." I would hear this over and over again until my ears bleed. At some point I began to hate working with the guards for Padme and was close to quitting. I was actually walking to Panaka office to turn in my resignation letter. When we picked up a distress signal in space. One of our Pilots was on the way back and came across the signal and sent a message back to Padme.

Of course being the peace loving idiot she was she decided to save whoever she could. I decided I would wait until after the job of saving people and making sure She was safe before moving on. So I grabbed my gear after putting the letter away and made my way to the hanger. I gather around the hatch of the weird spaced ship and prepare myself as the hatch falls.

"Are you Insurrectionist?" (Refer to Chapter 3)

Listening to everything that was being saved, my distrust in this individual only grew. It felt like a man who was trying to hide things. EVERYTHING WAS CLA.S.SIFIED. I don't think I've ever heard the word classified used so many times in my life. Reality was though I slowly fell in love with the work. All we really found out was that he belonged to a world called the UNSC or rather a system of worlds called the UNSC who were fighting Insurrectionist and a race called the Covenant.

Panaka was extremely wary of this individual called Spartan-016 Diesel. This made me happy, finally something that was to do. Against his protest Padme decided that she would allow him to stay and arranged for a place for him to stay. I quickly volunteered to be his guard and my friend Sid decided to follow suit. IF anything were to happen I wanted to be the first one on the scene.

At first things were extremely simple, he didn't talk much or even do much he stayed in his armor the whole time. Honestly, I don't think he ever slept even though me and Sid were forced to rotate throughout the night. I mean we eventually got used to it but dang did that suck for the next few months. Anyways, after a few days he started roaming around and eventually making it towards the guards training grounded where he watched. Again he never said anything. He just watched.

Eventually, Captain Panaka got annoyed at the constant presence of Diesel. Lets just say, Panaka never complained again. Eventually after a week or so He finally spoke. "You know, this training is highly ineffective." This enraged Panaka after another "Sparring lesson." Diesel began training these guards. The training regime increased and it got incredibly harder. This was around the time that Sid started becoming a fan of Diesel and loyally started following him. I had to admit though My thoughts slowly started to change as we started training.

Everyone of the guards were trained in close combat and started to massively improve. That was when I asked "Is this how Mandalorians train?" He would tilt his head like he never understood what I said. only replying. "No, this is the basic training of the UNSC. What is a Mandalorian?" At this point we both started to truly understand the situation we were in.
