Spoken Lies And Broken Ties

The past month that I'd spent with my mom and best friends was the best I had in the last three years. God how much I missed them. I wish dad was with us. But he had an important business trip or he wouldn't have gone. But I am happy he is coming home today.

My dad is a very busy man, after all, he has a multi-million dollar company to run but he never missed any of my important days because of that. He says no matter how busy he is, he will always be there for me whenever I needed him and I know he will. He treats me like a princess and calls me one too even though I'm not a kid anymore but I love it when he does. I love my family a lot and I never once thought I'd live away from them. But I did for three f.u.c.k.i.n.g years. Now, that I'm finally back, I'll make sure everybody who thought they can overpower me; pays for their insolence and immorality.

I went to receive dad at the airport in the evening. The moment he saw me there waiting for him, he hurriedly approached me and hugged me tight. I returned the gesture with the same emotions. He missed me but I missed him more. He had to go for the business trip the day I came back home. He planned to cancel it but I asked him to go. I didn't want him to miss that important meeting because of me, I can't be that selfish. After we reached home we all had dinner like a perfect, happy family. And watched a movie in the living room before we went to sleep.

Next day in the morning I received my acceptance letter from NYU that said that I was selected to the university for pursuing the business course. I'd applied at NYU before coming back to New York. I knew I can't be away for too long, I had to come back to do what was right. And the right thing here was to make that man suffer.

I woke up next morning to the sound of my alarm. I got up from my bed and walked into the walk-in-closet and selected my outfit for today. It's my first day at college, I need to hurry up. I went to the bathroom took a shower and washed my hair. I wrapped my hair with the towel and tied the bathrobe and came out of the bathroom. I dried my hair, put on clothes and applied a light make up with a nude lipstick and mascara. I checked my appearance one last time in my full-length mirror and went downstairs. Mom was in the kitchen making pancakes and dad was reading the newspaper while sipping on his tea.

"Good morning mom and dad" I wished them kissing them on their cheek.

"Morning Reb." They replied kissing me back on my cheek.

"Reb have a seat and I'll get you your plate." Mom said.

"Reb what do you think about your car?" Dad asked.

"It's good. Why do you ask?" I replied.

"Nothing." He said with a small smile.

"What is it, dad? What are you smiling about?" I asked suspiciously.

"It's just that you wouldn't be able to use your car from now on." came mom's reply.

"Why mom? Why can't I use my car? Has it broken down? But it was doing fine yesterday. " I asked them.

"You'll see." They replied simultaneously.

I know they are upto something. But what is it? Why wouldn't they want me to take my car to college? There is no way I am letting dad drop me. I am not a kid anymore. No, That's not happening.

I picked up my phone to call Kate so she can pick me up from home.

"What are you doing Kate? Whom are you calling?" My mom asked.

"Mom I am calling Kate to pick me up. I can't be late on my first day," I replied while holding my phone to my ear.

"You won't need that Reb" Dad said.

"How will I go then? I don't want you to drop me, dad. I will manage." I told my dad.

"Although I'd love to drop you off to the college princess, but that won't be necessary." Dad said and held my hand and took me to the front door with mom by his side. As we reached the front door, mom covered my eyes with her hand and dad opened the door.

"What's happening, mom and dad? Is this where you tell me you already booked a cab for me so I don't have to call Kate. But why the suspense, you could have just told me." I said and started laughing at my own poor joke.

The moment dad opened the front door, mom removed her hand and pointed towards something in front of me. I turned my head to see what she was pointing at.

A brand new red Lamborghini Aventador was parked in our driveway

"Surprise." mom and dad said aloud.

That made me squeal with delight and both of them started laughing.

"That's why you didn't need Kate to pick you up. You'll drive your new car to your college. How do you like it?" Dad asked.

"It's beautiful, dad. Thank you so much. I love you both." I said hugged them tightly.

"We love you too princess." They said simultaneously.

" Now hurry up or you'll be late for your first day at college. Go, have fun. And take care." Mom said after breaking the hug.

"Bye, mom. Bye, dad." I said and get into the car.

I drove out of the driveway and onto the road.

Here I come, Mr Kercher. Be prepared for a ride to hell. You're soon gonna have a taste of your own medicine.

With these thoughts in my mind, I drove off to college. Kate and Jim will meet me in the parking lot of the college.
