Spoken Lies And Broken Ties

I pulled into the parking lot of the college just in time to spot Jim opening the door for Kate and helping her out like any sweet boyfriend does. They hold hands and gaze into each other's eyes lovingly for quite a bit of time as if talking with only their eyes. I swear they both look so good in love, I wonder why they don't make it official already.

" Wow!! so much love," I said feigning tears. That startled them and they broke apart. After they turned around, one can easily notice the blush on their faces. They were literally blushing real hard. They look so cute together, it made me smile genuinely, they are so in love and I'm so happy they found love in each other.

"You know, it's a bad habit to spy on your friends," Kate said still blushing.

"Oh, come on I just saved your asses or you would have done it in public." I said with a smirk.

"You have a dirty mind Reb." Jim joined Kate blushing too.

"Really? You're saying this to me when you are the ones who can't keep their hands to themselves. My advice is you get a room but I hope you can wait till the college gets over and then you are free to do it ." I suggested half-jokingly.

"Shut up Reb." They said simultaneously, still blushing.

I am starting to love teasing them and seeing them blush profusely. I think I can get used to them blushing more often.

"Okay okay. I'm sorry. We better get going, it's time." I reminded them and started walking back to my car to get my bag.

"Wait whose car is that?" I heard Kate and I turned around to find her pointing towards my car.

"Mine," I said simply and continued walking back to my car.

"What?" she shrieked and rushed to me like a mad woman and turned me around to face her rather forcefully.

"Whoa, lady calm down," I said unwrapping her hand from my forearm.

"You have a Lamborghini Aventador S now and you didn't care to tell me when you very well know it's my dream car."She said narrowing her eyes at me, but I could see excitement gleam in her sea green eyes. Yes, I know Kate is in love with this car. She dreams of owning it one day and I hope she does. I'd love to see that.

"It's my gift. And I was about to tell you." I said making faces to amuse her.

She got still for a moment not showing any signs of movement. When she didn't move for 2 long minutes, I stretched my hand out to shake her. But before I could do that she blinked and looked into my eyes and shrieked again.

"What's with her shrieking so much today?" I whispered into Jim's ear.

"I don't know" Jim whispered back, amused.

One moment she's still and another moment she's shrieking again.

"Reb!" She shrieked again. " I want a ride." she continued and looked at me with so much hope.

"Yes of course Kate." I said and went to my car.

I took my bag and was about to unlock the door when I heard her say "Now".

"You want a ride, like right now? You can't be serious Kate, we'll be late for our first lecture."I said, not believing her.

"Let it be. I want a ride just right now. I can't wait no longer." she said with so much emphasis.

I tell you, this girl can be so dramatic sometimes. But I don't blame her, the girl is in love with the car.

"Okay. How about I let you drive it?" I said and she smiled like a goof.

"Really? Aww, thank you so much Reb" She said and hugged me tight.

"But on one condition. You'll come to the first lecture with us now and you drive it later in the afternoon or you don't drive it. So, what's say?" I proposed the deal.

She thought about it for a while.

"Done," she said and started walking ahead of us.

We watch her leave and shared a look and immediately started laughing. She is now all enthusiastic to attend the classes just so she can drive the car in the afternoon.

"She is something else," I said still laughing.

"Uh-huh! She is. She is just like you. Don't forget, this is exactly how you behave when you see your favourite thing and when you want it." Jim added.

"Aren't you guys coming?" She said smiling big and we rushed to her.

We walked to the entrance of the college side by side. As we were walking through the gate and into the campus of the college towards the office to get our timetables, we heard everyone whispering and hushing. They were all staring and gawking at us as if we were supposed to be anywhere but here.

"Why are they staring at us?" I asked no one in particular.

"They are aren't staring at us. They are staring at you, Reb. Boys probably wondering whose this new hot and s.e.xy chic in college and girls are simply jealous." Kate said like it was no big deal.

"Haha, very funny" I replied sarcastically.

"No, I'm serious Reb. Everybody is actually staring at you." Kate said seriously.

We ignored everyone anyway and walked to the office and got our timetables. I had first, third with Jim and second lecture with Kate. We will share the fifth and sixth lectures and for the rest two lectures, I will be all by myself.

After we got our timetable, we started to head to our respective classrooms. Jim and I had to walk to room no 107 which was down the hall and Kate had to look for room no 101 for her class. As we were busy looking for our room numbers, I could hear people whispering and looking at us but I choose to ignore them and continued looking for my classroom. It was really weird, people staring and whispering about us everywhere in the college. What's their deal, why is everybody whispering and look at me like that? I wasn't a celebrity the last time I checked. Sure I'm a millionaire's daughter but that don't mean they'll stare at me like that. I'm sure something is definitely up.

About five minutes later we found our respective classes.

"Guys, we'll meet here in the break and go to the cafeteria for lunch together. And we are anyhow sharing our fifth and sixth lectures so we'll be together for like two and a half hours." Kate said.

"Yeah," I replied.

"Let's get going. See ya" Kate said and turned around to head to her class.

We were about to the same thing but we stopped when we heard her saying something.

"OMG!!" Kate whispered breathlessly.

She seemed shocked and we rushed to her to see if she was alright but we stopped when we saw who she was staring at.

There, he was standing in the middle of the hall in all his glory with a girl sticked to him.
