Targaryen Who Turned Dragon

Chapter 109 - Decisive Victory

Aerion patiently waited for Mu Hanyi to attack, he didn't have to wait long. Mu Hanyi struck like lightning but Aerion dodged every attack with ease. Mu Hanyi was obviously holding back since Aerion was no more than a Divine Soul Realm cultivator, but that was his biggest mistake. With one mighty swing, he sent Mu Hanyi's sword flying into the sky.

Take this...

Slash.

Blackfyre slashed through thin air... Aerion sighed. Mu Hanyi had dodged his attack and regained his sword. If he had the use of Star God's Broken Shadow, such a thing would have never happened. He scratched his head and tried to remember a few of the movement techniques he had used throughout his life. There was only one that would be suitable in this sort of environment... Swift Wind!

My very first movement technique...

Although it could be considered trash when compared to the mighty Star God's Broken Shadow, it was still better than nothing.

White Tiger's Tale of the End... Sixth Stage, One With Lightning.

Aerion's entire body was engulfed by purple lightning which made him both faster and stronger. Sky Piercer burst with its own white lightning while normal flames condensed into Blackfyre's blade, making it blazing hot.

Now the real battle began.

Swift Wind.

Aerion's Blackfyre struck Mu Hanyi's ice sword. Both released fire and ice, melting and freezing each other. No clear victor came from that clash... it was clearly a stalemate. Aerion swung Sky Piercer with his right hand to make a clean cut on the side of Mu Hanyi but he managed to block it with an ice profound skill. The lightning from Sky Piercer boomed and crushed the ice completely to Mu Hanyi's dismay.

Swift Wind.

Aerion took a slight step back and swung Sky Piercer. The axe of Sky Piercer collided with Mu Hanyi's sword, however, he was still sent flying by the overwhelming force of Sky Piercer.

That bastard managed to block from right to left, huh. The new length of Sky Piercer is as much an advantage as it is a disadvantage. I need him to be further away to get a good strike, which is why I had to step back...

Aerion sheathed Blackfyre and he held Sky Piercer with both hands.

"Junior Brother... is strong."

BOOM.

Aerion appeared before Mu Hanyi and struck him with Sky Piercer again. This time, the axe struck downwards. Mu Hanyi's sword blocked the attack but the difference in might was becoming very clear. The white lightning broke through the ice and struck his hands directly, this made his hold on his sword weaker than ever before but he managed to escape to the side. Sky Piercer struck the ice and Mu Hanyi used this opportunity to attack Aerion. Aerion let go of Sky Piercer, dodged the attack and countered with an acrobatic, mighty purple lightning-coated kick to the face.

White Tiger's Tale of the End... Fifth Stage, Tiger's Resounding Roar!

A bolt of lightning emerged from his feet and struck Mu Hanyi. It looked like a purple lightning tiger was chasing down its prey. Mu Hanyi was sent back a couple of meters but he remained on his feet. His handsome (well, not anymore) face looked like it was directly struck with lightning.

"AHHH... you..." Although it was painful, the determination in his eyes remained. It was his greatest d.e.s.i.r.e to become the direct disciple of the Realm King... he was so close, all he had to do was defeat the mighty warrior before him.

He had lost every single exchange and taken some damage while Aerion remained untouched. Aerion's skill in battle was something Mu Hanyi simply couldn't match and the realisation struck him much sooner than expected. However, he did not let this fact get to him.

The Heavenly Netherfrost Lake was cleared of everyone but the two combatants. They all watched as Mu Hanyi was... losing. This was a scenario that no one present could have possibly foreseen. An Ice Phoenix Palace disciple who had joined the Sect only ten months ago, a disciple who had come from the lower realms, was actually beating down their strongest (or second strongest) disciple who had been in the Snow Song Realm his entire life! The gap in cultivation strength was a whole greater realm and a half, no less!

"He... he is a real monster!" One of the divine hall disciples exclaimed.

Aerion flew upwards and started to look down at Mu Hanyi. "This is where I..."

Oh?

Aerion realised that a cold aura was trying to suppress and seal him. The lightning around him, however, wasn't going to allow this to happen. But then the cold aura suddenly became much more powerful and overwhelmed the lightning. Aerion found his lower body frozen in ice. If he waited for any longer, his upper body would follow.

Fire Breath.

Aerion breathed fire down at the ice which made it weaken. It still wasn't enough, however.

How about this...

Aerion used his fury and inhaled once again, this time for an even longer period of time. Then he exhaled.

FIRE BREATH!!!

This wave of fire was much more ferocious, burning away most of the ice in mere moments. Then with his raw physical strength, he broke free of what remained. Both he and Mu Hanyi had used quite an amount of their profound energy to cast their respective profound skills. Mu Hanyi should have more reserves than Aerion due to his superior cultivation strength... but Aerion was far from ordinary, especially after using the Heaven Absorbing Silver Claw excessively during his training. His body could store far more than it ever should have.

Mu Hanyi wasn't sitting around while Aerion was breathing down his ice. He managed to catch him by surprise from the back... but Aerion dodged forward and turned around to meet Mu Hanyi.

He was reaching his time-limit... without Silver Calamity, he would stand no chance so Aerion stopped fooling around. From his right hand appeared a lightning lance which was sent directly towards Mu Hanyi. He was sent forwards by the lightning lance, into the lake water along with a speeding Blackfyre. Blackfyre hit him before he reached the lake, dealing a considerable blow. Then the lightning lance exploded in the water which wounded Mu Hanyi further.

Aerion created a ball of heavily concentrated wind which he intended to send into the lake. This would result in a huge Sky Piercing Hurricane to finish him off.

"You can concede now and avoid further humiliation." Aerion coldly stated.

A heavily wounded Mu Hanyi emerged from the water... he took Blackfyre out of his c.h.e.s.t and muttered, very weakly. "I... concede..."

I underestimated my own skill, it would seem... even if my overall strength is equal to his, I have far more profound skills in my arsenal and simply fight better.

Aerion watched as Mu Hanyi's master ran to his side. Blackfyre returned to his hand and he cleaned the blood away. Then he sharpened the blade for a few moments before returning the bastard sword into its sheath. He walked back to Sky Piercer and took it out of the ice, returning it to his spatial ring.

"Are there any other challengers!?" His thunderous, tyrannical, voice boomed across the entire Heavenly Netherfrost Lake. Even some divine hall elders shuddered for a moment... but there was only silence. His victory was undeniable as Mu Hanyi had lost in a very embarrassing way. His sword hadn't even touched Aerion in the whole duel... not only that but his handsome face was also in a bad state after that frightening kick.

He was more fatigued, yes, but even Mu Feixue doubted her ability to face him directly.

There was, at long last, a true candidate for the position of direct disciple. Aerion was clearly superior to both Mu Feixue and Mu Hanyi... so much so that it was quite depressing. His affinity towards ice and combat strength were both on a completely different plane.

All this time, the icy figure atop her Saint Dragon was watching events unfold. One could say that the Realm King was more than impressed with the silver-haired young man. It was made clear that he was the only one suitable for the position of direct disciple... to have such an extraordinary direct disciple would be the dream of any Realm King of a Middle-Rank Star Realm.

Wind, Fire and Lightning... a person who could use three profound arts of three different elements was something extremely rare even in the God Realm. Aerion didn't quite know this, however, which is why he didn't hesitate using all three. Unfortunately, he didn't display any Ice Profound Arts which was quite important to the Divine Ice Phoenix Sect as their Divine Beast was the Ice Phoenix. But the ice spirits gathering around him showed that he had an unparalleled affinity to the ice element so this wasn't a problem.

Aerion looked around...

So, do I have to wait two more hours or is this thing over already?

"How brilliant... you should off a little bit too much, little dragon."

How so?

"Being able to use three different elements is an extremely rare feat even in the God Realm. But, I suppose this is a good thing... your new master will certainly take good care of you, that is very much guaranteed. As long as she can make sure word doesn't go out, you'll be fine. If not... then someone might come and steal you away."

... Why didn't you tell me this before?

"Because it's a good thing, little dragon. Imagine if a Royal-Rank Star Realm decided to take you and spend all those resources, you would grow into the next God Emperor and then begin your conquest of the world! Then you could help me regain my true power faster as well... but you've already joined the Divine Ice Phoenix Sect so leaving the moment something better comes along would be very disloyal of you..."

"It is decided then." The Realm King spoke after seeing that no one else challenged Aerion. "All of you, leave."

Aerion watched as everyone swiftly left the Heavenly Netherfrost Lake and left him alone. For some reason, he felt nervous. As the Realm King drew closer, so did the pressure surrounding him increase. She flew down slowly and Aerion got a good look... he was dazed for a few moments.

Who would've thought that the Realm King was this beautiful...

Aerion shook his head to get out of his little trance and regain focus.

"Ten months was all it took for you to surpass every other disciple... not only that, but you also cured Bingyun's poison in an instant." Her eyes seemed to narrow in on Aerion, almost as if they were piercing his soul. "Who are you?"

How should I answer that question... 'I am Aerion Targaryen' clearly won't suffice. It would probably anger her... something Mu Bingyun told me not to do. She wants to know my secrets... do I reveal everything? I should be able to trust my new Master and vice versa. However, I doubt she will believe that there was an entire pantheon of Ancestral Gods and that I am a complete inheritor of one of them.

Aerion took a deep breath before proudly stating his identity. "I am the inheritor of the Heretic God's Legacy. Also, I used the Sky Poison Pearl to heal Palace Master Bingyun of her poison."

"The Heavenly Slaughter Star God returned to the Star God Realm about ten months ago... I see now. You cured her poison while also getting the Heretic God's Legacy from her, didn't you?"

"Yes, I did. Not only that but I also have quite a few more legacies to go with it... however, I avoided using them ever since I entered the Snow Song Realm."

"That was very wise of you. Seven days from now, you will officially become my direct disciple after a ceremony. You may return to your Ice Phoenix Palace until then."

That was simple... but I'm not quite the direct disciple yet. She's probably going to investigate me further later.

Aerion nodded. "I'll do that."

"She doesn't seem too bad," Rotias commented. "I sense no ill intent... you can definitely trust her."

A little bit late to say that, idiot.

Aerion started to make his way back to his Ice Phoenix Palace, well, room.

Mu Xuanyin... I hope she has a good movement technique or I'll have to get one off the cloaked man. Nevertheless, my progress in the profound way should be much faster now. As long as I can use this lake at will, that is.

Divine Tribulation, Divine Spirit, Divine King, Divine Sovereign, Divine Master, True God, Creation God, Ancestral God...

Is it even possible for anyone to ascend into the True God Realm anymore? From my knowledge, no one has even touched it in all this time.

"You are the only person who can do so through normal means... even the Creation God Realm is a possibility after many years."

What about the Ancestral God Realm?

"You would either have to absorb quite a few of the remaining Ancestral Gods, if not all of them, or... have His blessing, which is quite unlikely."

I see... where are the other Ancestral Gods hiding, anyway?

"They'll come for you one day, don't you worry about that. However, they can become your greatest allies or... enemies. And due to your temperament, the rest of the Ancestral Gods being your enemies is far more likely... hahaha."

Aerion took note of Rotias' comments.

Then I'll have to humble those Ancestral Gods and remind them who is King...
