Targaryen Who Turned Dragon

Chapter 110 - A Nightmare

After a long day, Aerion decided that he would take a short nap. He dreamed of being a dragon, flying unfettered and free. After soaring through the skies for some time, a mighty barrier appeared to stop him but he broke through it. Then everything turned to ash before moving him somewhere else.

A Dragon Dream?

On the ground laid an Aerion who was very close to death. His blood was scattered all over the place, he was missing both of his arms and someone was about to impale him with a spear. Both of his eyes seemed to be blind. Even worse, he could barely move... one good blow and it would be all over. The current Aerion looked around and could only recognize one person other than himself.

Jasmine...

She, along with another girl were both trapped inside of a barrier. Then the man who stood over Aerion pierced his heart with the spear. The remaining scales on his body turned to ash and his lively eyes dimmed greatly, becoming hollow and soulless. He was dead.

Is this... the future? No... I would never allow myself to die in such a pitiful manner. Why didn't he use the damn wheel!? Damn you... all you had to do was use the Evil Infant's Wheel of Myriad Tribulations, surely no one in this world can withstand its might... so why didn't you use it!?

Aerion's own fury led him to kick himself. He didn't even acknowledge the other Aerion as himself, rather he saw him as a fake.

"Since there are no other obstacles in the way, My King, we should start today's ceremony."

Aerion noticed that the fake's body twitched slightly before the dream ended.

Aerion woke up and felt a great wave of fury overcome him. From what he could understand, Jasmine was in some sort of danger and the fake came over to save her... and failed. This meant that if the dream was even somewhat based on the future, Jasmine is currently in danger. A Divine Master 8, especially one as frightening as her, in danger? It sounded quite unbelievable.

Aerion didn't dwell on it for too long, for one thing was certain... he was too weak to change anything! What could he do against a Divine Master? Nothing.... he couldn't even tickle one with his most powerful attacks. However, this didn't discourage him. For he finally had something to strive for... something to prevent. He has changed the course of fate once already, so he believed that he could do it again.

Power... I still need more power...

Aerion entered floor seven in order to deal with the cloaked man. This surprised him since the last time he did so was about two years ago and it was for some drops of origin blood, something relatively minor. After all this time, the amount of gold he had gathered was enough to buy almost anything.

"Hmm, that's quite a heap of gold, I must say. And what you d.e.s.i.r.e most is power... hahaha, say no more!"

The gold in his dungeon ring disappeared and was replaced by many other items. He wondered what those items were so he returned to his room in order to inspect them. The first three things that stood out were related to his Heavenly Treasures. They were stored in a package labelled 'Heavenly Profound Treasure Power-up Kit', Aerion opened the package and found three items.

The 'Mirror Of Samsara - Instant Recharge', 'The True Evil Infant's Wheel' and the 'Poisonous Sky Poison Pearl'. Upon touching each of them, the three items lit up and joined with his actual Heavenly Profound treasures. Suddenly... the Heavenly Profound Treasures in his possession regained some of their ancient power.

The Sky Poison Pearl could once again release deadly poison, the Mirror Of Samsara was no longer in hibernation and the Evil Infant's Wheel of Myriad Tribulations was even more frightening than before.

How strong is the Wheel now?

"Enough to kill anything below the True God Realm in a few seconds, basically no mortal should be able to stand in your way. However, its influence on the user will be even greater. Considering your lowly strength, even with my assistance, you will become no more than a crying vegetable who d.e.s.i.r.es nothing more than the end of the world upon the very first use."

Even if I am its master?

"Master? You would soon find yourself becoming its slave. The Wheel is now an existence at the level of a True God... nowhere near its peak, but no longer the small shadow it was previously."

So I can't use it no matter what, huh. Maybe that's why I did not use it in the future...

("Damn you... all you had to do was use the Evil Infant's Wheel of Myriad Tribulations, surely no one in this world can withstand its might... so why didn't you use it!?")

Shush, past me.

But now I have the complete Sky Poison Pearl which can at the very least deal with most Divine Masters.

Aerion turned to another package which included the complete editions of the Golden Crow's Record of the Burning World and the World Ode of the Phoenix. He put them into his Sky Poison Pearl for when he has the time to comprehend the later stages. The third and final package was a simple looking pill.

Aerion observed it... 'the Eyes of God.' That was all the information he gained from his observations. Without further ado, he decided to take it. Even after a few minutes, he didn't notice any huge changes.

Nothing changed? Maybe it will come into effect later on.

Aerion didn't dwell on it for too long, he immediately moved to floor nine without wasting any time. Although he tried to ignore it, the dream kept coming back to haunt him... his pitiful death, Jasmine's cry and the continuation of the 'ceremony'. It got to the point where he could no longer sleep without being disturbed.

Seven days later, Ice Phoenix Realm's Sacred Hall.

It was the day of the ceremony, Aerion was looking great on the outside but not doing so great on the inside. But that was mostly invisible. There were millions of disciples, elders and palace masters gathered and they all were waiting for one fateful event to occur; the discipleship ceremony of the sect master's direct disciple! The one to be chosen for this position was none other than Aerion Targaryen, a person who had only arrived in the Snow Song Realm ten months ago from the lower realms. He had already built a solid reputation as a kind Senior Brother and even more so, a dreadfully skilled warrior who beat Mu Hanyi without taking any noticeable damage. His name was strange but that made him stand out even more.

He started to gain a following even larger than Mu Hanyi's despite having very few appearances as of recent. Aerion's charisma was far greater, he had the bearings and air of a God-Emperor while Mu Hanyi, at the very most, was an above-average prince. In essence, they were worlds apart.

The Saint Dragon roared and shortly after, the Realm King descended onto her sacred throne, officially starting the Great Sect Assembly. Mu Huanzhi read some decree and then Aerion had to walk closer to the Snow Song Realm King. Everyone had their eyes on him as he confidently walked forward. He could clearly see the reverence many had for him... as was the case everywhere he went.

Aerion bowed before the Realm King without any signs of hesitation.

"Aerion Targaryen, even though your time in the sect has been short and your cultivation is average at best, you possess power that no other disciple can match and a talent for the ice elements. It has been made clear that your future is limitless."

"Today, this king shall take you in as my direct disciple and grant you the Ice Phoenix bloodline. You'll have to follow the rules strictly and cultivate our Ice Phoenix Profound Arts diligently. If you are to slack off, this king shall personally deliver your punishment."

Diligence is my middle name... but the Ice Phoenix Profound Arts? From what I've seen, its only use is sealing... which is useless.

"This King will not disappoint his Master or the sect." Aerion proudly promised.

The Realm King did not seem to take insult when Aerion called himself 'King'. Aerion found this surprising but he could care less if he were to be punished for it or not.

After that, he paid his respects and performed the discipleship ceremony with Mu Xuanyin. There were no doubts that he was superior to Mu Hanyi and Mu Feixue after all, it has only been seven days since his overwhelming victory. The memory of it all remained fresh in everyone's mind. When Aerion completed the ceremony, a sudden cold gust blew.

"Sect Master, guests from the Flame God Realm request to see you… they're already outside the Sacred Hall."

Oh, the Flame God Realm? This should be interesting.

"Hmph! It must be that band of old fogeys once more."

"Yes, Sect Master, the three leading the way are indeed the three sect masters of the Flame God Realm."

"How many more people have they brought along?" Mu Huanzhi asked.

"Three more... and all three have considerably young auras."

Disciples? Why bother, is it to show off? Heh... they're in for a surprise if that's the case.

"Let them in." Mu Xuanyin commanded. "Aerion, come to Master's side."

Aerion nodded and moved to the right of Mu Xuanyin. He wondered why the sect masters of the Flame God Realm would come at such an event. It was ill-mannered to interrupt the Great Sect Assembly... surely they could have come at another time?
