Targaryen Who Turned Dragon

Chapter 154 - Personal Guard

Xia Qingyue remained in her meditation state.

"She's making me feel really bad by not waking up. What if she's in some sort of enlightened state and I'm the one to ruin it for her?" Aurion sighed. "Hmph, this must be done. My royal father can make up for it with a pill or something like that later anyway. Juecheng, wake her up."

"How do you expect me to do that?"

"I don't know, give her a slap on the back of the head or something. Maybe tap her shoulder?"

"How troublesome." Fen Juecheng sighed as he walked closer.

Once he got close enough, he felt a cold chill rush up his spine. This made him take a step back.

"Who are you?" Xia Qingyue opened her eyes. "The crimson three-headed dragon on a black background... could you be a member of the Celestial Dragon Emperor's famed Dragonsguard?"

"Indeed, I am. One of the Sacred Seven, to be exact." Fen Juecheng proudly replied.

"And you... you remind me of him." Xia Qingyue narrowed her eyes onto Aurion. "Could you be Aurion Targaryen?"

Aurion nodded.

"Why are you here then?"

Aurion chuckled. "Well, about that... I wanted to know what you think of my royal father and the Dragonsguard. Royal father and Senior Heavenly Demon are always looking for recruits, after all. You would be a perfect addition and there's even a chance that you could become... uhh, one of his wives and ascend into the God Realm with him."

"This is rather strange, he never showed much interest in me after the Blue Wind Ranking Tournament..."

"Well, I sort of came here of my own accord. I believe that my royal father is a little bit shy when it comes to ice-cold beauties so I decided to help him out."

"Is it possible to ascend into the God Realm without becoming his wife?"

"I think so, as long as you join the Dragonsguard, I should be able to convince him but you'll have to come with me and ask for it in the first place. Now is a pretty good time to do so since he has returned and will probably ascend back to the God Realm soon."

"You seem rather intelligent for a child, he has brought you up well."

"So, are you going to the Sacred Land or not?" Aurion inquired. "I won't be dishing out this kind of offer often, you know."

"I will." Xia Qinguye nodded.

Hehe, the rest is up to royal father. He'll conquer her cold heart, I'm sure of it!

Fen Juecheng was rather shocked but then his shock turned into joy. "Welcome to the Dragonsguard, Fairy of Frozen Moon. His Imperial Majesty will be quite pleased with this outcome. Now, if I'm not mistaken, the Divine Phoenix Goddess is due to marry him in a few days so we had better get going."

"Yes, Senior Juecheng is right, it would be a great shame to miss my royal father's wedding. The Divine Phoenix Goddess will be his sixth, I believe. Do you need time for preparations, Fairy of Frozen Moon, or may we leave now?"

"Give me a day to say my farewells." Xia Qingyue replied.

"Fair enough." Aurion nodded. "Then we'll be waiting... outside."

"Outside?"

Aerion smiled. "I like to see the falling snow. Senior Juecheng, let's go."

"As you wish, your Royal Highness."

Totally not an excuse to avoid those big sisters.

...

They followed us outside!?

"Your Royal Highness, what's wrong? They're appreciating your good looks."

"..."

After some time, Aurion finally caught a break.

"You know, when I grow bigger, this is going to be the first place I'll visit. It'll be a grand quest of vengeance! Since they bullied me, I'll naturally have to bully them back, hmph."

"Bully?"

Aurion sighed. "You might understand it later. I'll take a short nap until the Fairy is ready."

Fen Juecheng nodded. "You must be tired after all that travel."

"All of the arrangements have been made, your Imperial Majesty." The Heavenly Fire Demon announced. "A great number of people have gathered for this occasion, perhaps a slight bit more than expected. The Dragon Imperial City is filled to the brim with visitors from all the Kingdoms, be it Kings or sect masters. Countless high-ranking Dragonsguard members and even the prominent people from the Illusory Demon Realm have also gathered."

"This wedding of mine seems to be a great deal grander than the previous three. This comes with being the Celestial Dragon Emperor, I suppose. I'll be in closed-door cultivation for two days so do not bother looking for me."

"What can two days change?"

"A lot, with the right resources." Aerion smiled.

After that, he left to his royal bedchamber in the Dragon's Heavenly Palace and entered the Seventh Heaven Pearl. He took out the fifteen Time Wheel Pearls he had gained from the Conferred God Battle and opened them with his profound energy, one by one. Fifteen months in the space of thirty hours was a great luxury and he wasn't planning on wasting it so he got straight to improving his cultivation.

"Brother-in-law's cultivation speed is really fast, what did he use just now?" Caizhi asked.

"The Time Wheel Pearls he was given. They were meant for preparation and healing one's wounds but Aerion did not need to use them for that purpose as it was unnecessary. Instead, he is using them to cultivate. A single Time Wheel Pearl lasts a month and only equals two hours in real-time, so his fast cultivation speed is to be expected." Jasmine replied.

The Fifth Stage of the Divine King Realm... BANG.

The Sixth Stage of the Divine King Realm... BANG.

The Seventh Stage of the Divine King Realm... BANG.

(TRANSCENDENT GOD REALM... BANG)

...

I see.

The Great Way of the Buddha, Sixth Stage... BANG.

The Eighth Stage of the Divine King Realm... BANG.

Aerion opened his eyes after exactly thirty hours. "Just two more realms to go and justice will be served, Jasmine. I'll use Ying'er to make things easier for me in the God Realm of Absolute Beginning while keeping those dear to me under Mu Xuanyin's protection."

"That sounds about right." Jasmine nodded. "You're worried about those other Ancestral Gods which is why you wish to bring everyone to the Snow Song Realm."

"Yes, I'm certain that they know of Blue Pole Star's location so it's only a matter of time. I can't order Master to leave her home for too long so it's better to just move everyone to the Snow Song Realm."

"This is a strange question but... is my marriage to brother-in-law still valid?" Caizhi asked, looking at Jasmine.

"Of course, it's not valid." Aerion shook his head. "Jasmine you did say I don't have to marry her if I don't want to, right?"

"Hmm, but the heaven and earth did bear witness. However, I did say that you don't have to marry her. If you want to make the marriage valid then you'll have to marry properly, in that case."

Aerion nodded. "That's right, besides you call be brother-in-law so it makes no sense for me to be your husband in the first place."

"But brother-in-law will still protect me, right?"

"I will."

Jasmine smiled. "The matter is settled then."

The day before the wedding, a trio entered the Dragon's Heavenly Palace, the throne room to be exact. This trio included Aurion Targaryen, Fen Juecheng and Xia Qingyue. They had made it to the Dragon Imperial City after many long stretches of travel.

In the long hall, dozens of loyal and mighty Dragonsguard experts stood guard in a parallel line leading to the throne. There was quite a number beneath the throne as well. They all wore the standard of House Targaryen, the House of the Emperor who they swore an oath of eternal loyalty to. Of course, this was more of a show of strength than a necessity for the Celestial Dragon Emperor whose strength far surpassed the Sovereign Profound Realm.

The throne, by itself, was of decent size and not quite as imposing as the Iron Throne but this was for a specific reason. Instead, the throne stood on higher ground. It was made like this so that Aerion would be able to enjoy the comfort of his women instead of sitting alone on a long flight of stairs. At this current moment, he sat on his own, enjoying some fine wine and reading a book.

"Presenting to His Imperial Majesty; His Royal Highness, Aurion Targaryen, Fen Juecheng of the holiest Sacred Seven and Xia Qingyue, the Fairy of Frozen Moon!" The doors opened as a pair of Dragonsguard emerged, followed by three figures. The Dragonsguard then looked up at their Celestial Dragon Emperor, bowed with great reverence and closed the doors as they left.

"Wow, royal father, you look even more handsome than before with the long hair!"

Aerion stood up and slowly walked down the stairs. He gave Aurion a warm smile. "You willful troublemaker, what have you brought to me now?"

"Well, as you can clearly see, I've brought back myself, Senior Juecheng AND a new member of the Dragonsguard."

"A new member of the Dragonsguard?" Aerion's gaze fell on Xia Qingyue as she was the only one who fit the criteria. They met eyes for a short while and Aerion was reminded of her heavenly beauty rather swiftly. "How did you manage to do that?"

"This prince is a genius in most affairs, royal father. I even linked Fen Juecheng with Cang Yue, hehe."

"You did?"

"Yes, now all they need is the Celestial Dragon Emperor's blessing."

Aerion nodded. "Fen Juecheng, you've come far since we first met. You have become a greater man, so much so that Cang Yue greatly approves of you and is willing to have you as her husband. I'm proud of you."

"Aww, Senior Juecheng don't cry." Aurion smiled.

"I'm... not crying, your Royal Highness. Even if I am, it is the tears of joy. It's just that your words are too heart-warming, Imperial Majesty... I've found my balance, right?"

"Yes, you have. You stopped chasing and turned it the other way around, this is something very few men have managed to accomplish."

"It is all because of your countless blessings and divine leadership that I was able to change."

"Aurion, about the new member of the Dragonsguard..." Aerion changed the subject.

"I visited the Frozen Cloud Immortal Palace and offered her a place. She said she'll accept if you bring her to the God Realm with you."

Aerion nodded. "Fair enough, I was planning of bringing everyone to the Snow Song Realm anyway." He looked at Xia Qingyue. "It's been quite a while, Qingyue."

"I'll be able to enjoy your cold presence more often now that you're a close member of my Dragonsguard." Aerion smiled before turning around.

"You'll be more than just a high-ranking member of the Dragonsguard soon enough." Aurion chuckled. "Maybe a wife, I mean your more than beautiful enough to be one..."

"A wife?" Aerion chuckled. "Aurion, is that an appropriate thing to say to a member of the Dragonsguard?"

"No, not at all. Forgive me for my transgression, royal father."

I suppose it's a little early to be talking about marriage, huh. Maybe a year or two until it becomes appropriate...

"Hmph, you are forgiven. Qingyue, Aurion's nature is that of a playful troublemaker, he never meant a single word he said." Aerion smiled.

"I understand, your Imperial Majesty."

"Since you're quite strong, nothing but the title of Sacred Seven is fitting. However, there are already seven members so that isn't possible. Instead, I'll name you my personal guard which should be of equal status. Also, since I trust you, there's no need for you to take an oath."

"And you don't have to wear Targaryen colours either," Aurion added. "Blue suits you nicely, Fairy of Frozen Moon."

Aerion nodded. "My son is right about that. Aurion, I want you to find your mother and start preparing for the Snow Song Realm. Juecheng, you will patrol the Dragon Imperial City to ensure that nothing out of the ordinary happens and Qingyue... allow me to show you around, this palace is rather vast and it's good to know your surroundings in general."

"Very well." Xia Qingyue nodded.

Wow, royal father is a true master in this profound art...
