Targaryen Who Turned Dragon

Chapter 181 - A Lot Of Dancing

The guards watching the Iron Throne respectfully bowed. "Your Grace."

Aerion approvingly nodded before proceeding onwards.

The main hall was crowded with numerous faces, all of whom Aerion recognised one way or another. Lords and Ladies of Great Houses, influential nobles of Essos, the God-Emperors of Primal Chaos, exceptional geniuses and, of course, his own family and wives.

"It seems that you're late for your celebration," Robb remarked.

"The Emperor is never late, everyone is just early." Aerion smiled. "It is as I intended. I wished for everyone to come before me so that we would not have any latecomers."

Aerion walked up the long and rather intimidating stairs of the Iron Throne. After turning around, he sat down and felt slightly uncomfortable. It was what Aegon had intended when the Iron Throne was forged as the King should never rest easy. Currently, however, this was quite unnecessary.

Aerion didn't want to reforge the Iron Throne but he did consider the thought for a few moments. He took out his silver-crimson goblet and poured some wine from the Seventh Heaven Realm into it. The hall grew silent as his lilac gaze moved across the gathering of subjects.

"Before we can truly begin, there are a few matters I would wish to settle. Firstly..." Aerion brought out Brightroar with his right hand while his left held the goblet. "This is the long-lost Brightroar. I found it when I was exploring the depths of Old Valyria... it was more exciting then I thought it would be, to say the least. Nevermind that, this wonderful valyrian steel greatsword once belonged to House Lannister until Tommen II Lannister lost it. Now that it is House Targaryen property, I thought of reforging it into a Targaryen greatsword... unless House Lannister has a worthy wielder."

Aerion observed it. "An impressive blade, but, I wonder, are any Lannisters willing to duel for it?"

"My brother may be willing, Your Grace," Tyrion replied. "However, as you already know, he is currently in the North."

"Anyone but Jaime Lannister?" Aerion's gaze focused on Tommen 'Baratheon'. "What about you?"

"I can try, Your Grace."

"Very well." Aerion threw Brightroar so that it would land beside Tommen. "Aurion, face him."

"Him?" Aurion chuckled. "I'd embarrass him completely. Why don't you face him, Daeron?"

"I'm only eight years old, you fool, and he's a whole decade older than me. How in Seven Hells did that suggestion come to your mind?"

"Hmph, excuses." Aurion drew his sword. "I'll face him as Royal Father wished."

...

After a little dance, Aurion convincingly defeated Tommen. Tommen fell onto the ground and Aurion's blade drew closer to his neck. "You fought well, I'm impressed."

"Oh?" Tommen's gaze did not meet his, unsure if he was jesting or not. "Really?"

"I can see that you practice frequently." Aurion smiled and offered him his hand. Tommen took his hand and was lifted back to his feet.

"Thank you for the compliment, Your Royal Highness."

"What is your judgement, Royal Father? Even though he lost to me, that does not mean that he is unworthy..."

"The victor will decide the fate of Brightroar," Aerion stated.

"Hmph, I see." Aurion chuckled. "Then you'll have it, Tommen Baratheon."

"But... I lost."

"You fought better than most. Besides, it rightfully belongs to House Lannister. Just be sure to remember my father's efforts when you wield it."

"Yes, I will do that." Tommen nodded. "I will remember your kindness as well."

"... If that's what you want to do." Aurion shrugged.

"Isn't Tommen a Baratheon as his father was? If so, it would naturally become House Baratheon's sword in due time." Qianye Ying'er stated.

Aerion took a sip of his heavenly wine. "About that... this is another matter concerning House Lannister, of course. I was aware of the truth quite some time ago but I never spread it to anyone."

"In truth, Joffrey, Myrcella and Tommen are all bastards born outside of marriage." Aerion sighed. "Although this was not a truth I was fond of spreading, it had to be done for the greater good of the Realm and sooner rather than later. The father of all three is none other than Jaime Lannister."

"A whore..."

"Robert Baratheon is an unfortunate fellow to have such an unfaithful wife." Robb shook his head.

"She should be severely punished for such a sin, Your Grace."

It seemed as if the entire hall had turned against House Lannister, especially the nobles of the other Houses who did not particularly like them. The uproar was quite irritating and so, Aerion stood up.

"I demand silence."

Not a single voice spoke after that.

"It is well known that House Targaryen and Lannister do not have the best past. Indeed, House Lannister, along with Baratheon, Stark and Arryn were the Houses I would have loved to burn down most when I was younger. But... many things have changed since then. I grew wiser and more understanding of the matters concerning Robert's Rebellion so my punishments were lighter in the Reconquest. My self-control led to a greater Realm... it is a very similar situation here."

"What happened is long in the past."

Aerion tapped Tommen's shoulder. "From henceforth, Joffrey, Myrcella and Tommen will no longer be known as Baratheons. Instead, they will be recognised as Lannisters. Anyone caught calling them bastards will face severe punishment."

Aerion glanced at Myrcella before turning around. "Speaking of severe punishments on my thirtieth nameday... it's quite dull. Since that's the case, why don't we have a dance?"

His subjects nodded and a group of musicians started to play some truly spectacular music. Soon enough, Aerion found himself surrounded by a group of beautiful and alluring ladies. A bit too many...

"A dance, you say? It does sound interesting." Izanami stated.

"Indeed... but who will you choose?" Tai Xia wondered.

"Hmph, that is quite a simple question with an even simpler answer." Qianye Ying'er replied. "It will be me."

"What makes you think that?" Shen Xi countered.

'How troublesome...'

Aerion sighed. "I'll dance with you all, starting with my first wife."

"Hahahaha... the Dragon Queen and Goddess are placed last in that case." Huan Caiyi laughed. "Must be quite unusual for you two."

"Hmph, you still lack a proper c.h.e.s.t." Qianye Ying'er remarked.

...

After quite a few dances, Aerion was done at last. Tai Xia, Haun Caiyi, Izanami, Daenerys, Margaery, Feng Xue'er, Shui Meiyin, Qianye Ying'er, Mu Xuanyin and Shen Xi...

Jasmine wasn't interested in dancing, not in the slightest.

Eventually, Aerion managed to be on his own for once as his ladies decided to speak to each other. That was when Robb came to him with something in his hand.

"My Lord, I have something for you. Consider it a present for your thirtieth nameday." Robb presented a dark green bead to Aerion.

"Oh?"

"I found it at the very centre of an enormous storm in the Northern Divine Region. Once I took away the bead, the storm began to fade which can only mean that it was the source of it all. I have no use for it... but, perhaps you do, My Lord."

'The Heretic God's Wind Seed...'

Aerion smiled as he took the Wind Seed. "You have done me a great deed, Robb. This little bead is invaluable to me."

"Oh... that's great to hear, My Lord."

Aerion placed it into the Seventh Heaven Realm for later. "Have you thought of a House name yet?"

"I'm not the best at thinking of a name for something so important... hahaha what about House Jackdaw?"

"Oh, my." Aerion chuckled. "I wonder where you got that from."

"A certain ship..." Robb admitted. "But it sounds good, right?"

"I suppose so." Aerion finished his first glass of wine. He had been quite conservative due to the night that awaited him. "How are you doing, in terms of romance?"

"Eh, I'm making some moves. Actually... I did get on wonderful terms with Shui Yingyue."

"Wonderful terms, you say?"

"Mhm, we thought of getting married but have yet to bring up the matter to her father and you, My Lord. Your blessing is quite important as I am among your greater vassals."

"I have no issues with that arrangement. If you wish, I can speak with Qianheng first."

"No, no... I'll speak with him myself."

Aerion chuckled. "That's good to hear. Hmm... what about Feixue?"

"My Lord, I do not wish to end up in your situation."

"What do you mean? Having many women has plenty of benefits." Aerion countered. "Though, it may not seem so at first."

"And troubles... anyways, I have no idea how she feels about me and I'd rather not risk my pride. I am a person of great status, an overlord of an entire Divine Region... if I were to be rejected by a disciple my reputation would sink into the depths of the ocean. It would be something that would take countless years for people to forget... it might even remain unforgotten, in truth."

"Hmph, just do it more privately and not in front of everyone. Or are you making up excuses, Robb?"

"I'd rather focus on my future wife."

"I see... well, in that case, I won't force the issue further," Aerion replied.

"My Lords, am I interrupting your conversation?"

A lady in her early twenties approached. She had long, golden and curly hair which certainly stood out. Her beautiful emerald eyes only saw the charming Emperor, who had smitten her quite some time ago. Truthfully, he had smitten every young lady wherever he went.

"No, you are not interrupting anything, Lady Myrcella." Robb tapped Aerion's shoulder and walked away with a small chuckle. "Go on, the Dragon Emperor of Primal Chaos and New Valyria."

"Farewell, Robb." Aerion smiled before turning to Myrcella. "Anything you need from me, my lady?"

"I have approached you to show my goodwill, Your Grace. I've been raised to believe that you are a cruel, vengeful and tyrannical ruler but that is so far from the truth..."

'I wonder who raised her that way. Ah, yes, Cersei... I did take away her lover and first son.'

"I can certainly be those things," Aerion admitted. "It isn't that far from the truth."

"Your actions tell otherwise, Your Grace. The kindness you have shown to House Lannister is not deserved... after your years of exile, the loss of your siblings... this kindness is not deserved at all yet you still show it for the greater good of the Realm."

Aerion nodded. "Indeed, the stability of the Realm is quite important to me as there will be times where I must be somewhere else. Hmm... is there anything else?"

Myrcella smiled and offered her hand. "Could I entertain you with a dance, Your Grace?"

"Sure." Aerion took her hand.
