Targaryen Who Turned Dragon

Chapter 44 - The Difference Between Heaven And Earth

Aerion made quite a large amount of Berserker Poison by using the almighty refining abilities of the Sky Poison Pearl. Then he started to train his own refining abilities which were pretty much non-existent. But, over the night, he continued to get better. He managed to fail a hundred or so times before finally getting it right. The feeling he felt when he successfully refined it by himself was worth it, at least Aerion thought it was.

"I did it, at last! There's no greater feeling than personally witnessing your efforts lead to success!"

"Congratulations... you did it. It was very painful to see you fail so much... but you did it. Still, You're quite lucky that all of that profound energy usage won't affect your real body... otherwise that weakling Ling Yun would've been able to beat you."

"Ling Yun? Ah, yes, I completely forgot about him. He probably feels so elated to wield the glorious sword which I personally forged... hahaha, I will have it back soon enough!"

"And how will you do that?"

"You'll see, Dragon."

~

Aerion opened his eyes, jumped out of his bed and got dressed into his Noble Rogue Sect uniform. It was the day of the finals, the day he would win the Blue Wind Ranking Tournament. Even with Stormcaller, there's no way Ling Yun can possibly win.

"Noble Rogue Sect VS Heavenly Sword Villa in the finals... hahaha, I thought I'd never see that again!"

"Who do you think is going to win?"

"Ling Yun, of course!"

"I think it's going to be Jun Long... I feel like he still hasn't shown his full strength yet."

"What does it matter? Ling Yun has a far better weapon!"

"Far better, now that's an exaggeration. Allow me to remind you that his halberd shattered TWO Sky Profound swords at once! I can't wait to see you swallow your words when Jun Long takes away the number one spot from your precious Ling Yun."

"Hmph, we'll see."

Aerion wanted to speak with the Noble Rogue Sect members before he left, so that's exactly what he did.

"Are you sure you can defeat Ling Yun? That sword does look pretty powerful."

"Of course, he might have the better weapon but I'm better than him in every other way."

Once Tai Quin heard that he was reassured. "Very well, go out there and remind the Heavenly Sword Villa of the mighty Noble Rogue Sect!"

"Do I get a statue for winning?" Aerion asked, half-joking.

"That can be arranged." Tai Wentian nodded

"Then you can start building it today." Aerion smiled and walked into the arena.

"He's far too confident."

"He's a blade, it's only natural for the most skilled fighters to be confident!" Shun Zhi responded to Tai Ming's comment

On the way to the arena, Aerion met Tai Xia.

"Will you win?"

"Hehe, don't worry. It will be a crushing victory."

"Really?"

"Mhm, Ling Yun was doomed from the very start. I'll be back soon."

Just one more victory... and I'll be crowned champion of the Blue Wind Ranking Tournament. I'll make it a spectacle for the crowd, one they will never forget!

~

"It's only you and I left. Forgive me, but I'm not planning on losing."

Aerion nodded. "Nor am I."

"That's good to know, I've been looking forward to fighting you ever since the Quarterfinals. Despite your relatively average cultivation strength, you've managed to get all the way to the Finals with ease... something even I couldn't do."

"Haha, you're praising me too much, Ling Yun. The only reason I've had such an easy path is due to my competition being far weaker than yours."

"I see."

Ling Yun didn't believe Aerion at all since he looked so confident, even after Stormcaller's might was publicly displayed yesterday. He was just too virtuous to admit that he's superior... at least that's what Ling Yun thought.

"Final match; Heavenly Sword Villa's Ling Yun against Noble Rogue Sect's Jun Long, may the match commence!"

...

"Sword Spirit Doppelganger!"

So he's going all out? I'm fine with that.

Aerion took out Sky Piercer from his ring and waited for Ling Yun to attack. Both the clone and the real Ling Yun attacked Aerion at once.

Perfect Counter.

Aerion blocked the two Ling Yun's and shoved both of them away with the mighty Sky Piercer. This put them in an unsteady position and Aerion made use of the opportunity. He grabbed one of the Ling Yun's by the face and charged up a Crimson Demon Wave.

BOOM.

What? I know it's a relatively quick Crimson Demon Wave but...

It barely damaged him!

The other Ling Yun quickly recovered and stabbed Aerion with Stormcaller. Not only was he stabbed by Stormcaller, but three wind slashes also hit him. Ling Yun backed away before Aerion could counterattack. The two Ling Yuns joined back together. Aerion shrugged it off and started to use more of his strength.

Dragon Soul, Sharingan!

"DOUBLE MOON BREAK!"

Aerion saw everything and, as a result, he dodged the attack with ease. Then he gave the real Ling Yun a good punch to the stomach. The clone attacked Aerion right after but Aerion hit the clone first. Aerion drove Sky Piercer straight through the clone. After he was done, he kicked the clone off his weapon.

Ling Yun charged Stormcaller with his own profound energy to create a large amount of wind but...

Star God's Broken Shadow.

Aerion grabbed the blade with his left hand and held onto it tightly. Then he absorbed all of the profound energy that Ling Yun gave to the sword. It all happened so quickly... Ling Yun felt lost. Aerion forcefully took the sword off Ling Yun and kicked him to the other side of the arena. The moment Stormcaller reunited with its one true master, a large surge of wind started to gather around its blade. Ling Yun slowly stood up... he looked helpless. He made eye contact with his father, his mother, Ling Wugou and then he looked down at the floor.

"I surrender..."

"Are you sure?" Ling Wugou asked Ling Yun. Their difference in strength was clear but this sudden action shocked him nonetheless. He could still fight, it wasn't like he was severely injured. Surrendering so soon... was unexpected, to say the least. The match wasn't that much longer than a minute! Even Aerion himself was surprised, he wanted to toy with Ling Yun for another two minutes or so before revealing just how much more powerful he was.

"Yes, I am certain. Jun Long is simply stronger than me."

Aerion threw Stormcaller back to Ling Yun. "Although I am quite unsatisfied, a victory is a victory. Ling Yun, you fought valiantly."

"Thank you, Jun Long."

1: Noble Rogue Sect

2: Heavenly Sword Villa

3: Frozen Asgard Immortal Palace

4: Xiao Sect

5: Burning Heaven Clan

"Congratulations, Jun Long. I knew you could do it all along."

"Well... you did train me. I don't think the other disciples had an Emperor Profound master teaching them."

"That is very true. But even without my help, you still would've ranked somewhere in the top 3."

"You made Ling Yun look like trash... what is your true strength, Long?"

Aerion smiled and scratched his head. "Somewhere... in the Sky Profound Realm..."

"SKY PROFOUND REALM!?"

"Why would I lie to you?"

Tai Quin couldn't believe it. Spirit Profound 5 to "somewhere" in the Sky Profound Realm... that's at least a 16 small realm difference! He was 100% sure no one else in history had such battle power. The difference in their strength was far bigger than he ever imagined... how did he get so strong? Very simple! A ton of pills and extreme training which would kill any other Spirit Profound-Earth Profound cultivator.

"Maybe you could give me a few pointers once we return to the Noble Rogue Sect?"

"I won't be too busy after the Blue Wind Ranking Tournament truly ends..."

"Under your guidance, I shall reach the Earth Profound Realm and beyond! See you around."

"I..."

Tai Quin didn't give Aerion any time to reject... well, he wasn't going to anyway. Tai Quin was his friend, afterall. Tai Wentian shook his head and laughed, then he left to his room. Before Aerion could walk into his room, someone called his name. He turned around to see an old man. This old man was exactly ordinary, he was an elder of the Sword Region!

"Ling Kun?"

"And you must be Jun Long, the champion of the Blue Wind Ranking Tournament."

Aerion nodded. "You are correct."

"Well, I've been observing your fights and I must say... you have caught my attention."

Aerion knew where this was going. Ling Kun was planning on recruiting him to the Sword Region. Obviously, he wouldn't refuse to join one of the top 4 powers in the entire continent. But he still had to think about his wedding which was just around the corner. He would most likely want to spend some time with Tai Xia and (most likely) Izanami.

"Is it something related to the Mighty Heavenly Sword Region?"

"Yes... I would like to personally invite you to the Mighty Heavenly Sword Region. Although the sword is not your primary weapon, you wield it better than most. Your battle power is extraordinary and so is the sword your personally forged. Disciples who can both fight and make swords are highly valued and well rewarded in the Sword Region. What do you think?"

Ling Kun's statement was partially true but the main thing he wanted from Aerion was to find out whether he could potentially Sovereign Profound weaponry in the future! If he could make at least ten then Mighty Heavenly Sword Villa could stomp over the other Great Sacred Grounds and proclaim itself Overlord. Even if Aerion can't, his current forging abilities are still quite other-worldly and he can still grow into a very strong disciple.

"I would love to join but, there's one problem."

"And what may that be?"

"I won't be able to join right away."

"Ahh, I see. How long will it take you?"

"Five months at the very least and a year at the most."

Ling Kun smiled. "Excellent. Use this Sound Transmission Jade when you're a day away from the Sword Region."

~

Aerion claimed his first-place prize, the Sky Profound Dragonscale Armor. They were going to open up the Heaven Basin Secret Realm in three days so Aerion had a lot of time to spend. He decided to go outside and hunt for fun. The meat and beast cores were just extras for him.

Wait... could I turn beast cores into swords using the forge? Weapons are made from beast cores so that would make sense. I should try it out!

Aerion scanned the area and found a spirit profound beast. It was quite weak, but that doesn't mean it's worthless! Aerion drew an arrow and launched it at the beast from his bow. He specifically aimed for the head.

BANG!

The beast's head was separated from its body, which led to it dying. Aerion harvested the beast core and put the beast's remains into his Sky Poison Pearl. Then another beast appeared. Aerion activated his Sharingan to stop it from moving.

This works far better on beasts. That makes sense since most beasts are weaker mentally than humans are. Perhaps, I can use the Sharingan to control them.

Aerion looked directly at the beast's eyes and spoke one very simple word.

"Obey."

The beast's yellow eyes turned red and three tomoes appeared on them. Aerion threw away his baseball bat and commanded the beast to fetch, it did as instructed. Then Aerion let go of the beast and it walked away from him.

The Sharingan... it has such a power? Hahaha, now I know how I'll get the sword while Ling Yun is distracted!

Aerion returned to the Heavenly Sword Villa and walked to his room. With every step, there was a new disciple admiring him. He was back to being a celebrity.

~

Aerion returned to the Sky Poison Pearl and saw his two pets munching on the Spirit Profound beasts. Once they both got to the middle of the meat, a small fight broke through. Rhaegal breathed scarlet red flames and Daemon dodged. Daemon roared and tackled Rhaegal. Aerion laughed.

"Two cubs fighting, how sweet."

Then he imagined them when they both grew up... A Crimson Dragon the size of Balerion The Black Dread and an a.d.u.l.t Chimera. Aerion was slightly biased, he expected Rhaegal to win if that hypothetical battle were ever to happen. Still, he doesn't have the slightest idea to what size Daemon could grow to.

"These little pests get annoying when this princess goes to sleep."

"Well, Jasmine, with all your overwhelming strength, I'm sure you can find a way to subdue them."

"Hmph."

Aerion left the Sky Poison Pearl and went to sleep.
