Removing the VR helmet, Gram looked at the time and saw it was only 10pm in the midnight. He texted Kaede, but it seems she was still playing the game which was pretty understandable, as it was her first time getting addicted to a game.

Gram ate some ch.i.p.s and sipped carbonated drinks as he waited for a reply, as the crispiness of the ch.i.p.s resounded on the room.

He called Risa Shiromine, she was his game partner and their both childhood friend. Although their couple relationship is new, he didn't make her awkward when the three of them were together. As she was also a gamer like him, and sometimes they hang out with each other to play while Kaede watches from the back while talking to them with a seemingly noticeable laziness.

Risa closed the notebook she had been working on and leaned on the chair while holding her cellphone on her ear and saying, "Yeah probably, in class she's really into the game. Her mouth didn't stop talking about her build and stuff after all."

Gram understood, "Yeah, I heard it from her but when will you play, didn't we already finish the school project?"

"When I'm free with my studies, lucky you. You can play already. ha~h." Risa sighed, she really wants to play right now.

"Don't worry, I know you will finish it in no time and after that, we can party together in game." Gram tried to motivate her but at least it made her a little better, she stopped leaning and looked towards the papers on the table.

He headed towards an obvious place where NPC was selling consumables. The lowest HP and MP potion costs 100 Gold Coins, albeit player shops were cheaper but he didn't want to waste time on that.

"Please look whatever you like, ~!" The female NPC said in front, although they looked really alive, you can see that their speech wasn't that flowing and you can only converse to specific dialogues. Although, he didn't know there were uncountable types of ai that's superior to this one.

He browsed at the hovering shop panel in front of the actual building. With a bow from the NPC, one of a grateful face, he bought 10 lowest grade HP and MP potions before leaving.

He headed out to the forestry area again, not bothering that he was the only one that was still wearing beginner equipment. Thinking of Kaede's description of her gears, she described it as a [ Unique Series ], every one of her gear had a [ Destruction ] enchantment that made the armor automatically repair itself when it broke.

Kaede played two days ahead of him, but she only leveled up her character to 18. She might have powerful armor but it doesn't mean she has enough damage. That's understandable why she has leveled up so little.

Figuratively, he can easily nuke a crowd of monsters because of his crowd control skills, kudos to his [ Spell Creation ] while Kaede had to take them one by one even if she was overpowered enough to tank all of them, it will still take a long time, that is why he easily leveled earlier.

It's called quantity over quality farming. But the spectating people felt horrified at his abnormal spamming abilities, although it didn't stop them reporting and looking at him weirdly. Aside from that, no other repercussion or trouble headed towards him.

With the new additional MP and INT, [ Fire Bullet ] became much more destructive. He could easily dominate the monsters around and even if they get close to him. Although it had a big MP usage as [ Fire Bullet ] had 70 MP usage, he could refresh his MP at any given notice. There were always some kind of safe zone in the wild to regenerate MP and that made it much easier to traverse. the wilds.

Aside from that even if lucky monsters were able to hit him, they can only deal some damage or in other cases flat zero. Luckily, he had gained new boots that could increase some of his movement speed. It was much faster to head back to the place he had been earlier.

That's awesome. I guess the story of Kaede defeating and eating the Hydra is true." Gram nodded albeit imagining things as he closed the browser on his status panel.

Wondering and thinking how it did play out, only made him laugh and chuckle. Kaede eating monsters in game is something he didn't even consider, not unless she was the one who talked about it. It should be a 'pleasant' scene to watch since her enemies seem to not even damage her as she proclaimed.

"That's just because of her [ Poison Immunity ], a bugged skill to have. Geez~ I can probably earn that skill if I grinded, I already had [ Poison Resistance ( Medium ) ]. I could instantly die at her poison skill, not able to survive it in just a moment." Gram shook his head and continued wandering around the forestry place; and reached a rocky surface where he could see mountains reach sky-high from afar.

He searched about dungeons earlier in the browser, although he didn't know whether someone had gained their respective [ Unique Series ], there wasn't much to know about [ Unique Series ] as while it was known to people, only a handful of players had one.

While the virtual game had only been released for a month, information specialists with related information gathering skills or specific informants had already appeared here and there.

He was early to know the release of the game but he didn't partake in the first batch of players. His reasoning was simple, he was busy being together with Kaede while partaking out on tea parties with group projects with deadlines with the two diminutive girls.

He sat on the ground while leaning on a tree. While in front of him is the rocky surface, at the back of him is the forest area. He grasps the distance before comparing it to the information he got on the internet. Although not completely sure that it might be the dungeon he was looking around. It was called [ Abode of the Earth Wyvern ] and from the internet, it depicted to be a troublesome dungeon that heavily enc.u.mbered players with debuffs.

"It feels like my preparations aren't enough, so should I make another spell here? I don't have much potion and don't have any AGI or massive VIT like Kaede." Although he was excited, he felt like he wasn't ready enough since ultimately every dungeon always had a big boss fight as it's finale. While every boss had one thing in common, and that was having a massive amount of HP.

"What am I lacking right now... more defense? Or attack power? If I create a powerful spell, I won't be able to use it because of my limited MP." He contemplated, he had a good defense and offense. He only lacks now was offense that can dish out much damage and more importantly, being able to dodge.

"A universal or a versatile spell? Ah! That's it! Surely there's got to be a natural neutral element in the works right?" While unsure if it's possible, Gram willed himself and activated [ Spell Creation ]. He just thought that if he was in a virtual world, then there could be an uncountable amount of different omni-metaphysical powers treated as natural elements. Like anti-gravity or anti-matter elements then what about neutral elements like wish or fate elements that could potentially act as an element that stabilize all fate of all things.

Inspired by related certain mythology's and a little witch crafting, he imagined his mana precipitating every part of his body before imagining it converting to a natural power that can enhance himself and others at will.

More than ten minutes had passed before he suddenly felt lighter, and as he opened his eyes, he saw his body glowing in the light but it quickly vanished accompanied with the lightness he felt as soon as he realized it.

"This is such a cool mechanic… Albeit, the augmentation of 1 status point to 1 MP is a little scary, as I suspected, this VR game is making me think with suspense on what's to come in the future."

"Lastly, let's make another one skill that I really need." Gram rubbed his hand greedily as he activated [ Spell Creation ] and imagined the wind element in his mind.

He currently needs something to use for dodging, although he didn't really like moving too much around, he couldn't just possibly take all the damage even with his VIT. After all it was different when you fought at higher levels he might get one-shotted because he was careless and he didn't want that. At least he wanted a spell that could make him evade spells if he didn't want to 'tank' it.

As for why he chose wind instead of other related speed type elements it was because wind elements because of its higher variability, sure, other elements like thunder or lightning manipulation sounds better but in the grand scheme of things, wind element is always the most superior. It was after all one of the four major building blocks of the world, electricity won't be created without air. Even if electricity looked cool, he liked the latter better.

Gram imagined converting natural mana to wind particles on his body, manipulating and using it around his body to increase his speed.

In just a few minutes later, the air particles around him seemed to dance jolly, while his hair started fluttering due to the increasing pressure around him. He started to notice the commotion and opened his eyes but as soon as he realized it, the massive air pressure particles around vanished like it was an illusion. He looked at the panel to see if he was successful, he smiled as he saw the pop up he was expecting.

He quickly re-initiated [ Spell Creation ] and changed his point of manipulating the wind particulates not just around his body but also around others.

Unlike his few of his spells, it seems there wasn't a cool-down for this spell, which is really a good thing. He saw that the majority of skills that had a cool-down are those which were a little powerful. This particular spell or other support type spells could be powerful when many players were present but for him who had only 2 AGI seems a little lackl.u.s.ter. But in any case a 2 AGI increase seems to be better than not having anything.

To complete, he could also use more than 70 MP to boost the spell with [ Wind Manipulation ], an example is that he could use 210 MP to quadruple his speed and that would still last for 15 minutes. Even if it took almost ¾th of his MP, it was a good trade off for a player with a little to none AGI like him.

If other players saw the INT value on his status panel, they would probably shit their pants and question the admins about why does his INT so mind mindbogglingly so high, consider mentioning the VIT as well. It would probably start a great debate if his status got released on the forums while the spams and the anger of the community to give specific explanations why his status was like that and thought for him, it was easy to give out the reason but he won't be mentioning it to someone unless they happen to do the same thing.

He was like building a 'Tank Mage' build. Though, it wasn't a known route and isn't generally acknowledged by the RPG fanatics. In RPG forums online, if you tried to build new things or tried to, you would have comments such as, "don't even try to think about it", "the trash build, won't work". There's no reason why you would put points towards unnecessary things unless you want to become a generalist that doesn't excel on anything. Surely you could do several roles but you won't be as special as the other.

He headed towards the direction of the dungeon with a relaxed walk. There were many trees but on the ground, bigger stones were frequently appearing every now and then, making the path rugged and harder to traverse. Some monsters get aggro'ed when he passed by but he would just use his [ Fire Bullet ], [ Gravity Downforce ] and [ Transcendental Meditation ] combo.

As he progressed later on, he passed by a small muddy lake that had small monsters that shoot out [ Slowing ] debuff. But when he appeared 10 meters, the monster sank to the mud without being able to shoot after.

After ten minutes of walking, he reached the foot of an average sized hill that is higher than the trees. At one side of it, you could see a big opening of a cave, like an opening of an endless hole because there was a hazy spiraling vortex in the hole because of it acting as a dungeon.

There aren't monsters that had appeared when he reached the entrance and a blue bar appeared when he neared the entrance. The good thing about dungeons in this game was that it auto adjusted itself and base the level to the players current level. Of course, that was only possible when there's only a player going to solo it.

[ Abode of the Earth Wyvern ]

"Dungeon huh~, this is spooky, but calming... I should meet up with Kaede after trying out the dungeon. Ultimately, it's on me to see whether it's clear or not yet, I hope it's the latter." As he entered, the dark cave suddenly lit up as torches on both sides appeared in dim-light.

Just walking for some minute, he saw the first enemy, he'll fight in this dungeon. He readied himself and looked at the unsuspecting enemy.

The Mud Lizard was 3 meter long, it hissed at him with its reddish eyes as it wiggled it's way towards him.

"The first enemy of a dungeon is always special." Gram wryly smiled before pointing his staff at the lizard and using [Flame Bullet].

*Pew* *Puchi* With a disgusting sound, the lizard got punctured by the [ Fire Bullet ] on its head before it caught on fire with the [ Burning ] debuff. It still tried to approach him while on fire, but it didn't last long as with it's last cry of defeat returned to nothingness.

[ Mud lizard had been defeated. ]

Onward, the dim path as during the time he had entered the dungeon, he had already been using [ Perception ] occasionally. It was so that he won't be surprised by anything while he explores the dungeon as it was also to make himself calm with this long silent eerie cave dungeon.

*Hashaa* *Hashaa* The sound of walking and stone rumbling came from the deep dungeon as eight mud lizards appeared in tow. This time they were more intelligent than the first one as they spewed out mud balls out of their pointy faces that had many razor like teeth.

Gram used [ Gravity Downforce ], although if it didn't affect the projectiles of the enemy, he was able to slow down the mud lizard that was trying to approach him. The mud lizard started to shoot mud balls at their mouths. The mud lizards had simple AI mechanics, first it would shoot out mud balls that deal meager damage but slows the enemy heavily. It would then approach the player and like the rabbit, lunge at him with their razor-like teeth.

Gram was surprised at this, it didn't really affect his movement speed, he only had a base of AGI 2. As he turned back, he used [ Wind Acceleration ] with 210 MP making his AGI 8. The slowed mud lizards weren't able to catch the 'fast' player due to themselves being enc.u.mbered by the two times gravity everytime they entered the 15 meter radius at him. Their mud balls didn't damage him and the [ Enc.u.mbered ] debuff didn't stack.

Gram rained down [ Fire Bullet ] to the mud lizards. They had a better resistance since they were the same level as him. He already used [ Transcendental Meditation ] two times to refill his MP. If they had much higher STR, they might be able to resist a [ Gravity Downforce ], but adding they were a form of a reptile, it isn't surprising that the spell is somewhat effective against them.

Their only chance of fighting is to approach him and bite his feet but he already demolished them the moment they reached three meters of him. He also had [ Fiery Aura ] while a little bit tanky himself.

"Ora! [ Fireball ]! Ora! [ Fire Bullet ]! [ Fire Bullet ]! Ora! Pew~" Gram sighed in relief, he had already used [ Transcendental Meditation ] two times and used one [ Low MP Potion ] to successively use his offensive skills.

He moved further and further inside in a rather wider path and saw small rocky mountain like creature that shoot out a caustic fire at its top. He moved around it, using the little AGI he had and with the [ Gravity Downforce ] the un-moving monster attacked him using a magma of fire that shooted out it's bulbous back but the spell didn't had an ability to track. As he tried to run with his best ability, he felt another wave of rumbling and he saw another wave of mud rats on pursuit. With his [ Gravity Downforce ] every time they reached around 15 meters to him was slowed and thereby couldn't try to release their mud balls.

"Wow, a pincer attack!" Gram felt thrilled at the sudden inclusion of mud rats but in the end it seemed his expectation was wrong.

"It seems rather right to get another resistance skill, it seems any resistance skill could be acquired just by literally resisting them, others soloing this dungeon would have a migraine just thinking how to plan fighting the monsters." Gram easily understood he had several crowd control skills, he could slow and then, run and gun the monsters effectively kiting them.

In any case, the volcano monster's splash damage of the projectile didn't even damage him. In this case, natural affinity towards element had negated the damage while his VIT helped to deal with the majority of the damage. He had to use four [ Fire Bullet ] with [ Giant Killer ] to remove the volcano monster's HP as he just waited for some time for it to get defeated. While he already cleared all of the mud lizard in the vicinity.

The next monster that tried to block his advance where big burrowers accompanied by some Volcanic Monster on the side. He didn't approach the place because the volcano monster had big attack range. He aggroed the big burrowers waiting while running at the place he previously had been, after that it was pretty easy to deal with monster that couldn't move very much.

While the Big Burrower seemed to be the fastest in the dungeon, but it couldn't deal with anything to his [ Gravity Downforce ], the skill pretty much cripple any enemies half their usual AGI.

As even if they burrowed or not, they were still affected by the slow and approaching him seemed to burn with [ Fiery Aura ].

And with, [ Gravity Manipulation ], he could improve the spell albeit the spell should be inactive with a refreshed cool-down, preparation was necessary. Currently, dealing with the wild monster needed just a [ Fire Bullet ] or two as because his INT was so high that it could even deal damage under the magic defense of monsters.

The debuff had been improving ever since he had gained it, and with the complementing feature of [ Fire Bullet ] and [ Burning ] synergy was really good.

Gram returned back to the three volcano monster waiting but before he approached. He waited for the refresh of his spells, before he started firing consecutive [ Fire Bullet ] at the first one. While he couldn't use multiple spells at once, he could easily fire spells at succession. Albeit everytime, he had to speak it out loud which were kinda dumb in other cases like pvp or intelligent monsters.

But in any case, when fighting monsters who don't have any intellect or ability to perceive spells, it was rather fun to speak out loud while fighting monsters because it gave you courage and simply because it's cool.

In that time of admiration, he spotted a crawling monster in the place. Earth rat's that had a bulbous, earthy body.

He also had experienced a new debuff when the earth rat used stones to pepper his body and seemingly was sticky to his body. Though, it still wasn't able to deal any damage, but the debuff seems rather drastic.

Of course he just had to remove every stone pieces one by one before the status debuff cleared. When he got the debuff, the remaining earth rats got faster than him as they were able to approach and hit him but they only did little damage. Although, only small damage, it still prompted him to use his one HP potion. In that quick moment he used [ Fire Bullet ] to the remaining ones near him clearing all the earth rats out.

While during that bout, he suddenly thought of the time earlier he gained [ Slowness Resistance (Small )] skill and wanting to try getting a same resistance effect. He waited for some time for the cool-down of his spell.

He moved ahead the dungeon and luckily, see another wave of earth rats waiting for players to defeat.

"What am I about to do seems idiotic." Gram didn't waver, tightly gripping his staff while holding an HP potion on the other hand, he pointed and used a large [ Gravity Downforce ] consuming 300MP with a radius that could take all the earth rats within. He started his assault and shrink the horde using [ Absolution ], an ability from his accessories.

"[ Fire Bullet ]![ Fire Bullet ]![ Fire Bullet ]![ Fire Bullet ]!" During his volley, he would refill his MP either using his [ Transcendental Meditation ] skill or taking MP potions.

The accessory skill [ Absolution ] gave two second [ Blinding ] debuff and it seems [ Slowness ] also affected them making them just a little faster than him, and by then, he only left five earth rats.

While it didn't last long and had much larger cool-down, the decaying shield was really helpful during the moment.

The earth rats had 80% of their movement speed remove, but they were still faster than him since he had a [ Enc.u.mbered ] debuff. The [ Slowness ] from the accessory didn't last long.

He lessened the damage by trying to dodge, with the active [ Perception ], he was able to clearly see the clearly where they would attack. By then he tried to predict their movements as he dodge with minimal movement.

Gram already used three MP potions and five HP potions, he had also used [ Transcendental Meditation ] for three times. After ten minutes, the pressure seems to had lighten. The majority of the attacks had been evaded.
